When you currently try to hold and freeze metaverse, the metaverse wallet will give an error.
This is supposed to be solved in the future, but if you still are looking for a way to get that interest rate, there is a bypass that I actually found here on bitcointalk hidden in a bigger discussion. Because it got sidetracked, I decided to make a post about just this topic.
Reading about it, I found that there are some more bugs, but since I have decided to stake the coins for a year, i am not going to worry about it now and just start "staking".
I understood that the whole metaverse platform will move from POW to POS but for now, I am happy with a 20% interest rate, expecting metaverse also to grow in value in the next year. Right now it is valued at about 3 dollars.

you can stake this coin for shorter periods, but the interestrates are severe shorter.
If you want to stake you coins, do the following.

this info was given by vuvanle120 in topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2247610.120
step 1: go to Advanced --> console and type in the following command. Notice that 1 etp has 8 decimals.

deposit -d [insert days you want to freeze] [insert your username] [insert your password] [number coins you want to freeze * 100,000,000]

example:
lets say you want to freeze 5 etp for 1 year your command will look like this:

deposit -d 365 johndoe mypassword 500000000

step 2:
press enter Wink

make a test with small amounts first. your interest will be paid immidiately, but of course is frozen for the time you lock it up.
