I still haven't claimed my CLAMs, now we have another free alt? This works great as advertising for an alt.

i hope this This news will really happened in the near future

NO. You don't have to use blockchain wallet to claim stellar. Blockchain here means the blockchain of Bitcoin which records all transactions. By definition:

Quote
A blockchain is a public ledger of all Bitcoin transactions that have ever been executed. It is constantly growing as 'completed' blocks are added to it with a new set of recordings. The blocks are added to the blockchain in a linear, chronological order.

They plan to distribute it this way:

Bitcoin program

20% of the initial stellars are set aside to be distributed to holders of bitcoin and XRP (19% for bitcoin holders and 1% for XRP holders).

We will take a snapshot of the bitcoin blockchain at a particular date and will set up a claim page that will allow bitcoin holders to receive their pro-rata share of the stellars reserved under this program by verifying they control their address from that blockchain snapshot. For example, a user owning .001% of the bitcoins in the blockchain snapshot would receive .001% of the stellars set aside for bitcoin holders under this program, or 190,000 stellars.

According to Stellar you can get free stellar coins based on the bitcoins or ripple coins you had in your wallet at a certain date. But how do you claim the stellar coins?

https://www.stellar.org/about/mandate/

The writing on that page is in future tense, so that means they haven't done it yet.

It'll probably be the same way that clams did it with you having to import your wallet.dat into the client or something along those lines.
