flightypouch, I'm confused. Do you mean that you have 2
wallets: electrum and electron cash. And then you had your bitcoin
in the electrum wallet before the fork. Then, after the fork, you sent
your bitcoin from your electrum wallet to your electron cash wallet? And this
resulted in bitcoin cash in your electron cash wallet, and your bitcoin
in the electrum wallet? I would have thought the action of sending
your bitcoin from the electrum to the electron cash wallet would leave
you with a 0 balance in your original electrum wallet. (NOTE: I assume your
electron cash wallet is only for Bitcoin Cash)  Please tell me exactly what
you mean by "copied my Bitcoin's public key". I assume you mean you sent
your Bitcoin from your electrum wallet to your electron cash wallet.

I have 1/2 Bitcoin on a paper wallet, made before the fork.
My understanding is that now, after the fork,  I have 1/2 Bitcoin
and 1/2 Bitcoin Cash. How can I get those (Both BTC and BCC)
from my paper wallet to an exchange to get USD for them.  I have
an account at COINBASE but they don't support BCC.

It doesn't mean that when you have your bitcoins on a paper wallet you will automatically get your Bitcoin Cash. I am storing my bitcoins to my Electrum wallet before the fork. What I did to get my own BCC is download an application called Electron Cash (by the way I am only using my Android Phone) installed it, I created a new wallet and then copied my Bitcoin's public key. After that it just synchronized and viola! I have my BCCs the same number as my Bitcoins on my Electrum wallet.

Does Electron Cash allow to move BCH to exchanges? I read this tweet by Electrum team and it seems not yet: https://twitter.com/ElectrumWallet/status/892731209259864064
