There are a lot of members who dreamed to be part of the hero and legendary rank but if you become an active member most of your content help to other members, and the community itself you will get merit which helps you to rank up of course still you need the activity. I took me over a year before reaching the senior rank still trying to get the hero member rank even though it's too much hard still it can possible. If other members can do to rank up you can still make it took. Avoid plagiarism just to get merit  Wink

And now I have to gain 400 merits in Meta to be triple legendary.
I cannot unsee  that!
Or rather as many as 410 more merit which I believe you will soon achieve. I feel @DdmrDdmr didn't include your merit gain in the meta because it hasn't reached 1K yet and I'm sure your name will appear if someone is willing to list users who managed to get 1K merit on certain board in the list in the future. Sure, you'll see it soon!

In fact, it doesn't require any hard work. Just enjoy reading subjects you are interested in and post whenever you think you have something to add or to ask about.
You don't have to know everything, you can contribute to the discussion by asking genuine questions. Just visit the technical boards and see how many merits are being given to newbies for asking good questions and showing their willingness to learn!
Actually people who are interested in learning about bitcoin technically are those who care more about this technology than those who are interested in learning how to profit from it. This is something different and a rightful user who can know a lot about bitcoin technically deserves a lot of merit and has the potential to climb the rank-up faster than others.

Some of the name mentioned by @DdmrDdmr in the list above are those who have a lot of technical knowledge of bitcoin be it security, wallet and mining. They deserved it, but it seems the frequency of merit has decreased since then.

In addition to that, I guess that nobody can claim a general rule about merits earned on local forum vs. main forum, as it depends a lot on which local forum you post in.

For example, I write in the Spanish section and in my case I sense that I have gained more merits there than in the main one (mainly thanks to DdmrDdmr you mention in your post being Spaniard or at least hispanophone), but this may be totally different in other local boards.

It is much easier to get 1000 merit here than in the locale. And I was convinced of this from my own experience. I received the first thousand merit when I wrote in Russian locale, in 8 months. And I got the third thousand merit when I wrote more in the English section, and it took only 90 days.

Your example does not prove it, regardless of what you claim to the contrary - according to data published by @DdmrDdmrt, your statistics look like this:

Quote
Local     Russian   2627711   Ratimov  3953   2834 (Merits in Local)

This literally means that without merits in the local board you would have just over 1100 merits - not to mention the drama when you’re accused of plagiarism for your post-writing style. In conclusion, I don’t think you’re an example of someone who can properly advise others on how to get merits - because most don’t have the luxury of getting almost 75% of their merits on the local board.

Note: bear in mind that other profiles have earned over 1K on aggregate, and are not on the above list, since I’m only considering those that have reached the mark specifically on a sub-board. Technically, those above are sub-board 1K Merit Legendries (or such).

  • Take everyone who replies to you seriously, and don't turn a blind eye to the people who help you. The real strong will not escape, but accept others' opinions with an open mind and enrich their own views and knowledge.
I think there are so many newbie and other old members who ignore this often enough that it seem true that this advice is important to everyone. They are active enough to post, but they rarely check who has answered their previous post. It's a habit of mine to check regularly every time I get back to work the next day and it would probably be better if most newbie did too.

It is much easier to get 1000 merit here than in the locale.
This become very possible but if the user can master English well. There are users who can post on local board with high quality post and get so many merit but language barrier become a barrier for them to get more merit on global board because the post become unclear. So in my opinion, whether or not a user get merit is very dependent on his ability to master the language.

Systematics process needs to be followed to advance from one level to the other, and most importantly consistency.

It is also to note that active participation and post of relevancy can assist one attain the Hero and Legendary membership level.

.
In any case, I am always glad when professionals come to the forum in the person of freshly registered users and begin to correctly tell useful things.
Yes I would like to see more lawyers and accountants making their mark here on the forum I do not know the reason that there is not a lot of them which are making themselves known. I do check the legal sub forum but it is mostly normal members asking questions and getting vague non legal advice from others.

Ah yes I can see why he would be a valued asset on the forum I think we need more lawyers on the Bitcoin side of things but we have not had too many on the forum yet.

Do you think his posts contain at least a word about merit and how to earn ranks? He writes about things that interest him and the community. Posts related to crypt, not merit and ranks. According to my observations, it is these people who are the fastest to reach the top on this forum.
That is crazy are you able to translate a couple of the sentences because that is a insane amount of merit for only 22 posts and I see they have gained around another 20 merits after this post that has got to be the most prolific merit earner on the forum per post.

Recently it has become a trend on this forum that newbie members give advice on how to get merits or reach a higher forum rank  Cheesy
OK, it’s nice to see someone make the effort to read the posts and experiences of older members, and to share their conclusions further but I don’t see a real need for that.
We are all different and have different approaches, thoughts and goals.
There is really no need to share the experiences of other members but find your way, give your unique contribution to the forum and then share your original experience with other members.
Personally, I find it much more interesting to read posts in which members share their personal experiences rather than posts in which the experiences of other members are shared.
I wonder what the real purpose of such posts are actually?

How to reach rank on the forum and get a lot of merit? Just write about what you are interested in, and not about what they want to see and hear from you. Recently in Russian locale one newbie earned 100 merit in 2 weeks.

The example you are talking about is very specific because it is a user who is active only in one local board, and that board has a lot of active members who are also merit sources. Most users can't go that route because their local board isn't nearly as active or doesn't exist at all.

If memory serves well, you may be the first newbie to earn 1000 merits, but also just by posting in the local board - to get the same amount outside the local board is a whole other story.

  • Actively participate in the discussion, but not to do some mindless expression. The topics and opinions here must be highly rigorous and justified. Don't express yourself as you wish. Topics without search, learning or thinking will be considered boring.

OP, for your efforts, you will receive a prize Smiley. But seriously, you shouldn't take the forum as some kind of very strict regime. On the contrary, be yourself, joke, ask, read.
Your text is very harsh. You can't do that, you can't do that. Grin Roll Eyes

Also, on the forum. Don't break the simplest rules. The rest is simple. There are no evil people, on the contrary, everyone is happy for beginners, but only for those who come to the forum with pure intentions.

In reality, there is no easy way in becoming a hero/legendary member in the forum. If there is an easy formula for this, then most of us would become a hero/legendary member. The only way is to remove the mindset of ranking up and convert it into contributing something useful in the forum.

Look for alternatives and ways in helping building this forum as a whole. The more you rush this process, the more that you would be frustrated in expecting results. Just take your time and enjoy your time in the forum. Try your very best to contribute something useful in the forum and merits would be the one chasing for you.

About your Topic Title " How to grow into a hero and legendary member? " its just simple to doing it .

Be helpful as far you can with your Experience you have to others !

Its normal that hero and legendary members mostly reply to questions and discussion as a lot of them here for years ,
also mostly its nearly always or sometimes the same questions and problems that new Users asking or even dont know about them.
If you find your one way to help Users you grow in Experience and maybe on your Rank.
Inspirated from older Users and others are a good sign and thats what makes the community.

Today, I saw a post written by ratimov, topic: brief history of bitcoin ad option. I feel deeply and want to share it with more friends.

If you read the following carefully, you will find that most of the replies are heroes and legendary members, and you will find out why they can succeed. The links are as follows:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5349377

My inspiration is as follows:

  • Membership level has nothing to do with authority. No matter whether you are a hero or a legendary member, the wrong expression of opinions will be seriously pointed out and discussed. In fact, new people and senior members are equal. In the forum, some are just sincere to help others, and don't become an obstacle for you to express your opinions bravely because of the level problem.
  • If you want to become a senior member, don't think about the shortcut. What you can get here is selfless knowledge sharing and time accumulation. Don't take chances. The success of a senior member is the result of knowledge precipitation. A lot of reading and quoting have been obvious.
  • Actively participate in the discussion, but not to do some mindless expression. The topics and opinions here must be highly rigorous and justified. Don't express yourself as you wish. Topics without search, learning or thinking will be considered boring.
  • Take everyone who replies to you seriously, and don't turn a blind eye to the people who help you. The real strong will not escape, but accept others' opinions with an open mind and enrich their own views and knowledge.

This is a summary after I read it carefully. I hope it can help you. Thank you.
