If you are planning on trading on alt coins, forget about that. I think it is more safe to trade in stocks than alt coins here. They are all good at start and all ends in 1sats price. Hahaha

If you want to start trading, try this site: snapcard.io. Its fees are extremely low 0.5% Grin you can't beat that except you live in China.

Okcoin allows you to trade for freee! You will need a bank account in China though.

If you want to earn with it for trading your in the right section. Many exchanger now open you can choose one and start trading. much better if you had a group of friends also got income in trading you can get some tips to them and teach you what coin is good to buy and don't use all your money and trading try to save some in your wallet for backup if you choose a wrong coin.

Holding bitcoins until they reach a value you deem profitable is probably one of the better and safer methods of growing your bitcoins.

Your bitcoins may not exactly grow in satoshis but the equivalent in fiat will.

It means that you do not have much knowledge about trading, and so in this condition trading will not benefit you, try to learn about bitcoin and crypto currency trading on this forum and on google also and when you reach to a point that you do not need to ask from other about your trade then at that time you are expert in trade and so you can trade successfully at that time.

Your start capital is a bit low to do this but arbitrage between multiple exchanges is a fine way to go., as always there are risks involved and some bolds and nuts to twist but can be pretty lucrative. This could easly be a day job for the most profits/losses.

Speculate on the btc/USD pair, or some other btc/fiat pairing. Its actually gotten pretty easy to predict btc movements now that the market doesn't react to news so hardcore, and the relative stability of the price isn't that bad either. Ignoring our recent Brexit run up, of course.

It is obvious everybody want to invest their bitcoin and some got scammed by ponzi/scam/cloud mining sites and some find lucky in trading. Yes trading is quite profitable if you are lucky and also keep an eye in all types of crypto related news everyday. Don't buy coins without any significant 24 hour volume, don't buy at the pumped price, always check detail about any coin you are thinking to buy and hold, don't follow any hype/fud in chat room of trading platform or other place. Noone can give you straight forward way to gain profit over bitcoin/crypto trading.

Most suggest you to buy low and sell high, but you'll know the reality only when you practically get involved into trading. Everytime buying low and selling high is not possible. So you only need to learn and make strategies to grab the profit at the right time whether the investment is low or high.

Trading is done in an exchange sites. There are lots of popular exchange sites out there that already built reputation when it comes to trades. But please remember that possibility for some exchange sites to turned to fraud has a chance so better be cautious when doing trades.

You can start with your stated capital. It's ok to lose as long as you are gaining experience from it. You will improved yourself in a duration of time as you are doing regular trades.

trading is something that you have to do on your own, i don't understand what you mean by "legitimate way to trade". you sign up in an exchange site and then start trading by buying low and selling high.

for bitcoin-fiat trading you can choose bitfinex, btc-e, kraken
for bitcoin-altcoin trading i suggest bittrex, poloniex

Yes you are in the right section. By trading what do you mean by that?Trding fiat to btc or btc to other altcoins? Either way you can get a profit if you know how to trade. There is a lot of threads similar to the question on how to earn with trading. If you roam around the forum I'm pretty sure you can find some helpful threads.
As for exchanges or where you can start trading hou can view them here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0
There you can find almos all exchanges available.

If you are interested to know more about alt coins here is the
Announcement board ( you will see all alt coins both new and old ones in here),
Altcoin Marketplace ( I here you will see multiple ways of getting altcoins for free by joining events or bounties, there are also trading threads in here for some coins that is not yet listed on any exchanges.) ,
Altcoin Discussion( you can see specualtions and other market related discussion here about altcoins).

I hope this may help you. If you have more question, feel free to ask away.
