Definitely activities and merit need to rank up your bitcointalk account. Then try to make helpful posts on here. The merit will be given by random bitcontalk members. If they like your posts, they will give you merit.

I think you need to make good meaningful posts that help others. If the post is good I think the section is not a matter. By default you can go up to Jr member without getting any merits. But form Jr level you will need merits to go up.

Frankly speaking, at this stage you should not focus on improving your rank because it is something that will happen automatically. This forum is all about seeking and sharing knowledge about Bitcoin, altcoins and blockchain technology and if you don't have anything to share then you can always spend time in reading and learning as much as you can. You will get merit points whenever someone will find your content valuable and I don't see any wise approach in artificially trying to improve rank.

i would say it's really difficult to increase the rank based on this merit system ,because the harsh truth is merits aren't given validly and lower rank members are generally neglected here moreover the people who were active here already got advantage with this and they are already in top ranks ,only people new to this forum has to puddle a lot.I mean a lot.

Help users here,and gain some knowledge about cryptos which helps you in writing an explanation ,and luckily you might get merit with it.

Instead of concerning about rank and merit why not focus on studying and learning some rules of the forum. Once you will have enough knowledge then only you can think about other stuffs.
