Psilocybin with psychoactive compounds (also called "magic" mushrooms) have long held a cultural stigma. But thanks to research conducted by reputable universities, including John Hopkins, it's slowly becoming common knowledge that the fungi might actually benefit people in numerous ways. From helping people quit smoking – and stay off the cigarettes – to helping depressed individuals shift out of a funk, 'shrooms' are being studied for their many potential benefits – and are not disappointing researchers.
However, they're still listed as a Schedule I drug, labeled to have a "high potential for abuse" and "no recognized medical uses". For this reason, if you do decide to cultivate "magic" mushrooms, do so at your own discretion and risk. With that said, this article is for information purposes only.
Now, if one were to grow psilocybin at home, this is how they would do it. According to a video created by the company SupaGrow, which sells kits to cultivate magic mushrooms, one needs a kit which includes mushroom spores, food, and dirt. Additionally, a sealable bag, water, and time are required.
It takes only a few weeks to grow "magic" mushrooms, and the process is relatively simple. The video below explains this and more:
