Just use https://www.myetherwallet.com/

You should protect your private key, bookmark the address and open from there only and never open a link form email or messenger.

If you keep this simple rules you will be fine.

No need to instal any wallet, use myyeteherwallet instead and save the privatekey and json file somewhere save

For Eth and and ERC-20, I suggest you to use MyEtherWallet (MEW). There's JSON file that you must keep to open your MEW in another day.
You can keep the ETH and tokens or send it to exchange.

Exodus wallet works great for me and, bonus, it supports many coins not just ETH.
