You can't do it so I use Mycelium import paper wallet. Enter password and you can even pay it direct to another address.  Works like a charm

I confirmed that Bitcoin QT does not support Bip38.

As the days and weeks go by, the Dev teams "to do" list grows longer and longer.  With little getting done.

Blockchain.info allows for Bip38 imports, so that is where I will do mine, if I ever need to.

Decrypt it and then import??? If you can't do this then I'm guessing its not really your privkey.

What I was hoping for in bitcoin-qt was for it to decrypt it and import it. So if I create bip38 addresses, when I wanted to spend I was hoping I could do something like importprivkey privatekey "passphrase" or something like that, so I did not have to use 3rd party websites to decrypt it. But it looks like that is not possible in bitcoin-qt.

bumping. I am curious if this is supported by bitcoin-qt also? After looking through the help commands in console I didn't notice anything for it. Only the importprivkey which doesn't work with BIP38. I am assuming it is not supported? If not, are there plans to have it supported?

Or is that not supported either?
