Have a look at Pandacoin's thread, make up your mind.  I'm not into hype or BS like that; the project speaks for itself. They have the only Bitcointalk thread I've seen that actually has useful information to help investors decide if they want to invest or not.

Low price, decent volume, real community, good steadydev  team.  Not a Ferrari, more like an old well maintained Honda but this is the only crypto where I've seen a constant (albeit slow) increase in value over months.

The trick is to invest early/when the price is stagnant or going down. Most idiots don't and always end up losing. Invest early and when a alt coin has an announcement for upcoming features, and try to make a educated guess on what the top will be during the price rise.

Never back down !!!
Cryptocurrency world looks like a New York’s exchange in old movies. A giant room filled with screaming people. Even experienced users who are involved with crypto long enough find it hard to navigate through all this information. Pretty much any new cryptocurrency can be a time bomb - there is no way to predict its exchange rate or find out how committed its developers are, let alone figuring out if there are any backdoors in the code.

So the question is: is it worth investing your resources in these cryptocurrencies?

Miners and traders are the primary players on this oversaturated market and in most cases also are the early adopters and the first missioners of a currency. They create buzz about the cryptocurrency which leads to increase of its hashrate and exchange rate. Miners and traders have vested interest in popularization of the currency therefore spreading the word and attracting new users for them is crucial.

First problem you are talking about POW coins which won´t have afuture anyway.

Second, don´t look for this new coins and buzz and stuff. Look for promising project which won´t dissapear in a few weeks.

f.e. NXT

Judging by how most alts turn out I'd say the vast majority of altcoin traders would be better off just sitting on their bitcoins
