The best way to know if a website is a scam is by checking the website URL in scam detector site. Though you can't tell from the interface of a site whether is scam or not, some site has beautiful interface but they could probably be a scam

although there are any sites that can detect scam website, it could not be a guide because scam can be in anywhere and we still don't know how to determine the website is a scam. but we can check the website with that site so we know that the site is potential to scam or not so we can be careful when we want to invest with them. it is difficult to detect the site is a scam or not especially in the investment program site because it will need a time before we know that the site is a scam.

Scam checkers are not accurate. Also, no offense but using such things make you a bit lazy to make yourself secured. Would you let someone else take care of your security? I think that is also a risky behavior.
Though it is quite a work and load to prove yourself that a website is not a scam, at least you can be ask yourself what are your fears in making  investments. You can answer them yourself with deep research. You will not only be safe but knowledgeable.

In my opinion, knowing the background of a website is a must. Know those people who are behind or developers of the web and definitely observe first and take into account the people who already used the site if it is legit.

I think checking the URL  doesnt work all the time. You can check the basic rules such as check if they have any contact information or not. If so than test their information. Check their doimain name in the google, also check if their pages are secure or not.Check their domain WHOIS to know about their ownership and also check grammer and spelling.By checking this I hope you will find the scam website.

Newbies just have to changed their mindset that there is no easy road in getting bitcoin. We have a thing called "common sense". Being a newbie isn't a reason why someone fall on "obvious" trap because there are other newbies who used their common sense to know what things is right or wrong.

Those sites mentioned here e.g Scam Adviser and badbitcoin.org are good for reference but again their sites will be based on reports so in other words, new scam sites will not be checked.

Again, we have a precious mind that gives us common sense. Used it and don't just believed whatever you read in the internet (including this lol).

Alternatively you can just browse on over to http://www.badbitcoin.org/ and search through the list of bad sites. I have had many bad sites flagged on this site and I have also warned a lot of people, before they got scammed.

In many instances these sites are not even necessary, because you can easily spot them, by just using your common sense. If the promises are too good to be true, then the warning flags must be raised. Just Google the sites and if it is a scam, someone would have complained about it and it will come up on Google.  Wink

HYIP hunters give ratings to paying investment program which makes it looks legit, so its not accurate, all HYIPs are scam and eventually be a fraud in less than a month, but lets consider how highly budgeted ICO/Gambling/BETING/Wallets website with complete info about the program/project and with a good history would make a good impression as a legit website.

Accuracy in investing is necessary for us not to be trapped as a victim, then we must also see the track record of companies that offer investments already have experience in the field of investment or not and the company has long survived in the investment world that we need to know. So we do not get caught by the interest offered but their experience in managing the investment funds is paramount.

Well, Since I have used my previous email address on multiple sites and it was somehow leaked from any single website, Today I get around 100+ daily spam messages and most of them are crypto scams. One should always do research before even thinking about the offer received. Yesterday, my friend was about to send his documents to the company that *SELECTED* him for the special job but I recommended him to Google the information before even replying to their mail, he did and found that it was a scam.

If you don't want to get scammed by some company then you should check their site and check the offers they are offering, and go into details and basics usually they don't provide you the details or they provide you then it will be wrong details that differ from site to site, and if the site's offers are too good to be true and big offers in less work or money then double check it.

These scam detectors only work accurately for well known scam sites, but not on the newer scam sites. How do you know if a website is a scam? If it's an "investment site" that you'd have to pay a certain amount to receive certain amounts every day/week/month. They're pretty obvious.

Unfortunately, the first time you invested, that site was a scam but they waited for you to invest hugely.

Not really accurate. I try check it with scam hyip website and its said "87% trusted" even some monitor say scam.
Just don't invest on high return or HYIP, and you will not get scammed. 10% Profit or Hourly profit, that's really high return and its too good to be true, even they're paying, they will become scam too..

I believe the first scam alert OP raised totally right. If I see such red light, I just run off with my toes touching my buttocks.

The Scamadviser website was helpful in stating clearly as regards trust levels of bitcoin investment sites which were actually scams or potential fails just as bitconnect was. I did fell into the bitconnect fail even after checking with scamadviser.com. I think most times, people are overly blinded by the results seen on those hyip sites than results gathered by scamadviser and its likes.

the incident also happened to me, I never invested in a web, and soon there is a scam. many things to note.
1. how long does the web last?
2. be careful with big flowers.
3.the web lasts a long time is low interest.

How to know if the Website is SCAM?

First of all I want to say that I am a victim of Scam before, Someone told me that if you invest your BITCOIN it will give you an Interest “HOURLY and 10% Daily”, then Actually it is true, After I invested again with high amount after a few days they run all my money. Today I want to say that do not Invest in such thing, they are totally SCAM, Do not be blinded by that interest.

In investment maybe there are 30% legit and 70% not, so you must be careful where to invest your Money!
If you wanted to know if the website where you wanted to invest is legit or not, then you can try to check there URL here https://scamadviser.com/check-website/.

First
    Open this URL https://scamadviser.com/check-website/

 https://i.imgur.com/JFuyMfx.jpg

Second
Paste the URL and press “Check it now”
I just try the Bitpenta.com, Actually, they are totally Scam, they Scam my money, not just mine.

Third
If the Rating of trust is below 80%  and it is Suspicious then do not invest

Fourth

If the Trust Rating of the Website is 80% up then you can invest your money and surely you will going to have your interest, I’m not promoting this Site, I just make an Example. Please be careful with your investment if you don’t want to lose all your money, Have a good day I hope it helps Smiley
