I can tell you that I used to catch flu, cold and other infections when I lived in a warm city apartment. Then times changed and I moved to the countryside where I had to go outside to get firewood every day, even when it was -20*C. I'd wake up in the morning, chop wood, go back inside and make breakfast. We'd often make tea or coffee and walk around the house in the falling snow drinking it. It made me so "tough" that when it was -5, I'd go out to get wood in a hoodie. I no longer needed a warm jacket and I didn't catch a single cold on that year.
We also lowered the temperature in the house and begun to sleep in about 18*C, never going above 20. It's really good for your throat and lungs.
I mine crypto, i get exposed to heat(short periods only) not favorable to human living conditions, here is the thing..if you are healthy you can enjoy the heat and enjoy the cold.
I've been to cold climate and enjoyed it and I've been in hot climate and enjoyed it, also in hotter climate(mining room) not so enjoying but my body can handle it.
notice people in hot climate that get inside a cool air conditioned room/car and they feel weakened and they cough, that's a sign something needs to be optimized (health), same thing with people that get weakened by heat collapses in mining room temps..by the looks of it you moving to the countryside made you healthy.
I do all of this but I get when people can't because they are too tired from work. I always feel better after exercise no matter how tired I was before. Also drinking water is not that hard you just need to have a habit.
Self-discipline is the worst enemy of yourself. Those are easy to follow but sometimes the laziness will overpower you. But if you already started and keep your motivation alive, it will become your habit. Just like when someone is aiming to lose weight. The solution is easy but it is the discipline that is hard to sustain.
discipline is simply the start, it will lead you astray if you don't have the knowledge..what you need is science if you are addicted to sugar and carbs but you don't know the solution, you will eventually cave in or live in ebbs and flows that will get you nowhere.
There seems to be a body of opinion that doesn't believe that breakfast is healthy. The justification seems to be the way the body handles stored fats, and brief periods of starvation can help the body to break these down, and covert them. Obviously you are not eating whilst you are asleep, and by avoiding eating until 11am or later, you force the body to process these stored fats
I try to do this, but I seem to weaken frequently when I am sitting in a cafe at 8am, and everybody else is tucking into breakfast.
by doing periodic fasting/starvation. it actually trains your body to try to store previous nutriants/sugars into fat. and then burn the fat overnight/morning. this is natures natural way. but the problem is if you are eating after 6pm the night before (eating then sleeping) that food is not being utilised. and if its sugary it causes spikes in your blood sugar when your body should be settling down. then if your waking up early and needing sugary coffee just to try shaking off the sluggishness. then that sugar is then not letting your body activate the fat burning process.
even the fake sugars(sweeteners) cause your body to taste the sweet. and cause your body to produce insultin ready for the sugar intake. but then not having a sugar intake because its sweetener instead. your body has an adverse reaction to that too..
the best advice is to not eat in the evening but eat in the morning. eating fat in the morning instead of sugary/sweetened drinks actually lets your body know its ok to burn fat because its not getting a sugar fix in the morning and if it needs more fat later then it knows it has some. so it doesnt try to hold onto the fat.
so no food in evening. but a fatty (fry up) breakfast and no sweet stuff
(hint: majority of obese people skip breakfast anyway and have sugary drinks and eat after 6pm.. so do the opposite)
I rarely do breakfast because...I am not hungry, only eat when you are hungry. sometimes when i get busy in a day's work I blast off for the whole day without eating and have dinner by 6pm. I also eat anytime of the day if I get hungry, but there is a difference between real hunger and fake hunger (created by high carbs diet), there are also some time where i totally forgot/ignore to eat for a day because i am not hungry (the previous day was a feast of healthy fatty meats.)
people over complicate/over think things, just eat healthy and your body adapts and tells you what you need.. it is a process and it takes time.
