-Too fully understand what are you trying to enter(gambling industry)
-Create your own unique game must be easy to understand ,use and much entertaining.

I think its more about being lazy and actually doing some work.

The safest way is to still invest in some rep gambling casino. Instead of gaining like 0.6% for the house profit, you can use the btc to invest in different btc casino and earn 0.4% or so investor profit. Php, nginx, js , jquery are good to choose when making a gambling site.
What ever you do don't use an apache server if you plan on processing thousands of bets per second.
Nginx has much better support to control how many people load on each cpu and being able to distribute load.

There are many many many steps to create a bitcoin gambling site. The first two which should be your biggest concern are 1: What will your site offer that others don't? It will have to be unique and different and have a creative aspect to it. 2: You obviously need to have a large amount of bitcoins to even think about starting a website. One thing I would suggest when you do so, is only go for reputable scripts. There are dice scripts publicly available for free with security flaws and would backfire.

I've always wanted to make a gambling site, but what are the things I really have to keep in mind? I wanted to do something like a simple blockchain game, so people don't have to register etc.

Any thoughts?

What part of the process do you mean? Is it the development part, the idea part or the funding part?

first and the most important step is to come up with the idea for the game which you are already half way there, you only have to find out if it is really interesting and will people want to actually play it or not.

second is finding someone to make the game for you if you don't know how to yourself, or do it yourself if you have the necessary skills.

third is the bankroll, you don't need to worry too much about a huge bankroll you can start small and take partners or do something like other casinos that let others invest in their bankroll and share the profit.

1. Think of a cool unique game.
2. you should have a Huge bankroll with that.
3. Marketing or Promoting strategies so that people will know your site.

Plan that 3 first before starting, don't start it with just the 1 and 2, it must be complete three so that it will succeed.

You need to first come up with an idea which you have then you will need to learn a language, php/html and maybe python or visual basics but not required.

You need to know how to do an sql database and how to connect to the blockchain for payments. It is not as easy as people make it sound it's actually quite difficult but if you follow points 1-4 you will be fine. I think with enough drive you might be able to lessen the amount of capital because you could get a loan or investment which I would strongly suggest.

You say all kind of things but its stays difficult to start such thing, due to the fact that you need all kind of things its not easy.
I think you cannot make a bitcoin casino on your own these days.

First thing you need to have a lot of btc before making a gambling site. If you have only few on your hand you cant cover those big win resulting into not paying aka scam.
