So far CryptoNote is coming along swimmingly. I have enjoyed getting my hands into something else and expanding my horizons. Thank you for the link and I will use that if my development in CryptoNote comes to a halt for some reason, say for lack of responses for questions I am not able to resolve myself or using my preferred search engine.

Well it's not easy for a non-programming guy to create an altcoin. You'll run into many problems. Anyways good luck.
Setup your compiling vm first and try to compile some altcoins. Read this tutorial.. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/building-headless-bitcoin-and-bitcoin-qt-on-windows-149479

Try CryptoNote. It uses different algo though, CryptoNight. But on the bright side, its ASIC resistant.

He is looking for a guide to create a coin, not a site to create a new coin for him. And coins generated by that site are easy to detect, that they were generated by that site.

Thank you for the suggestion! Just as a FYI there was multiple re-posts and one that seems to be complete is one from devtome.com ... If you have any others I would be interested in them as well.

Thanks again,

Good afternoon,

I am looking for some more up to date links that would provide a complete walk-through of creating a coin. This coin already has a purpose for a specific environment and I don't intend for it to make public trading as so many other alt coins have been 'pumped and dumped'. I have found a couple of 'auto-magic' methods to have a coin created and delivered though no after production support.

While sha-256 is my preferred choice, it is not my only or last choice. There are a few articles here that were proving to be promising only to make it 1/4 of the way through and the links were dead.

Does anyone have a complete guide on how to create a new coin, and possibly some of the regular maintenance items that need to be tended to?

Best Regards,

John
