anyone else know how to convert a private key to WIF format?

How are you getting the private key(s) from your cold storage wallet exactly?  Are you using the dumpprivkey command?  If it's in hex format, you need to base58 encode but it's strange if you're using Litecoin core, the dump should yield a WIF private key.

edit: You better make sure you understand the Exodus wallet.  It's a one way trip for your coins if you don't!  You're not actually importing a private key, you're moving the coins to an address within the Exodus wallet.

Hello Community,

I was checking out Exodus.io and wanted to use it, and had a cold storage litecoin wallet that I wanted to import my private key to Exodus.   There's a option to do so called "move funds" and when I click on that it says, Private Key (WIF)?  Paste Litecoin Private Key in (WIF) Format.

I type in my private key that was on my wallet and I get a Invalid error.  It's because I don't have my Private Key in (WIF) Format, but I don't know how to do it.  I've searched online on how to do so, but just see info on bitcoin WIF and that has Sha-256 where litecoin doesn't so that wouldn't work for LTC.

If anyone could give me instructions on how to get my key to be converted to WIF, I would greatly appreciate it.  This is the first time I've ran across this issue, but then again I'm not super up to date on all the cryptocurrency info and tips.    Thanks again everyone.

Something like https://liteaddress.org/ might help.

Thanks, yes I was checking that out too, but just wondering there's a section where I could enter my key and i think it will provide me with a WIF of it.  Hopefully this will work and I don't have to jump some more hoops.   First time getting a private key from a cold storage wallet, so this experience is fairly new to me, the whole importing private keys from cold storage stuff.  Smiley
