This is a weakness. but you can close it by making passwords difficult to guess. also make sure your device is safe from spyware. it can avoid your account bitcointalk taken by hackers.

Bitcointalk doesn't provide enough security for saving accounts.. anytime I tried to change my password it changed directly. didn't asked me for verification to change password. same as email.. and bitcointalk don't even have captcha or Google authentication for saving accounts.. bitcointalk developers should work on these..
You can only protect your account by adding a strong password and staking a bitcoin address. anytime your account get hacked you can recover it with contacting theymos and signing message from your staked address. but it will takes too long,

Agree on some points.I think there is some points that should be taken to tighten up the security in new forum as I think that admins are not in mood to push up further update to this forum.I think password change should go up with a verification email and also same for if someone is setting up a security question or changing the security question.

Hello, how to make it safe? When I'm trying to change e-mail I can easily change it without any notification via e-mail. Pls any advices?

Using different password for each account and make a hard password on your account. Don't let other people know your passworod and don't download something suspicious on your computer.

If you make your e-mail account safe, you don't need to worry about your bitcointalk forum account. Use one password for each site you have an account, protect your e-mail password as full as you can and your forum password too.

I think that is the max you can do to protect yourself.  Sad

You can use different password for each site, so if one account gets hacked, not all ur accounts are obtained.
Also use strong password with capital letter, numbers and special signs, so your account won't be easily cracked. And do not fall for scams/phising sites or download malicious software.

I don't think bitcointalk.org will change a thing about changing the email so easily.

This do not use one password for lot's of sites if you do, one hack/leak and they will test many sites with your email/username and password that was "hacked".  I firmly believe is a mix of password manager and physical token in Yubikey.

This makes it where you cannot access my password manager without a password, and a physical token so cant be remotely activated via software.  I have to press a button on my yubikey.

Also prepare for worse case scenario by staking an address.  So if ever needed you can recover your account on bitcointalk.

The best protection is of course good password, but hack can happen in many ways.
To be sure you can recover your account if someone will hack your Bitcointalk acc is post your Bitcoin address with signed message here:

Make a very strong password and only use it here, not on other sites. Also keep your PC safe to prevent getting hacked.
Pretty much everything you can do is have a very strong password with uppercase letters, numbers, etc.

Hello, how to make it safe? When I'm trying to change e-mail I can easily change it without any notification via e-mail. Pls any advices?

For the moment , All you can do is use a strong password and make sure you stack your address in this topic (make sure that you have a full control - private keys - of that address). That way , even if you get hacked you can get your account back : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/stake-your-bitcoin-address-here-996318

They are planning to implement 2FA in the new forum software so this shouldn't be a problem in the future.

Adding to this: Use 2FA on your email account and keep your PC safe.  A keylogger can ruin your day(s) even if you can get the account back some weeks later.
