Now that we’re all mining beam like crazy, can anyone point to a reputable and easy to use exchange for the US that can be used to exchange BEAM -> BTC of even, gasp, fiat USD, that would be appreciated.  I know a lot of us are just hodling, but I plan on 50/50 hodl/exchange, so would like to have an idea of where this can be done easily.

UPDATED MINING GUIDE 2019

Beam just hard forked, creating the second version of their Beamhash (Beam II Equihash mining algorithm). This mining tutorial will show the best ways to mine Beam coin with Nvidia and AMD GPUs on Windows and Linux (smOS)!

https://youtu.be/oYiojyO5MZI

Beam coin, a mimblewimble privacy cryptocurrency coin that is built with scaling in mind has honored their original promise of forking to maintain being GPU mineable. Beam has hard forked in August 2019 to Beam-II or Beam 2 beamhash, their customized equihash mining algorithm. Gminer and Lolminer have updated their miners for this hardfork and are included in our easy to use one click all in one multi miner mining package! With this GPU mineable hard fork, Beam continues to be one of the most profitable coins to GPU mine in 2019!

Can someone help me, i got the basic gigabyte 6 graphics card mb, celeron, 4gig ddr4, 120 m.2 ssd and 2x powercolor rx 480 8gb red devil, 600W bequiet psu(silver).
My power draw(wall) is 350W, i think it's waay too high for 16 sols(beam-opencl-miner), msi afterburner shows 90 watts per card, bios moded (just timings and 2100 mhz on mem) and underclocked down to 1150mhz, why is my power draw so high? Mining Loki i did like 2k hashes and like 320 from the wall(still looks to much for me). No, my cpu is not mining(as if it would raise the watts more than 20). Thanks in advance!

Hello BEAM miners!

First thing, if you are using windows, is to open the command prompt first, and then run the bat manually, so it returns to the terminal and stays open so you can see the output. You might catch an error here.

Second, running on Windows can be tricky. You have to make sure you have drivers installed correctly, libraries and dependencies installed. Check Claymore's btctalk for that.

Third, we did create a user-friendly ready-to-go solution called PiMP OS back in 2012. This not only includes claymore, custom kernel and drivers made for mining, optimized config files, troubleshooting and diagnostics tools, and the miner.farm monitoring tool all built in, but also, works out of the box, hashes faster than most windows rigs, and boasts uptimes in the hundreds of days. Give us a try! getpimp.org has a video and more information. Let our experience and workmanship work for you. Thank you very much!

Currently we include some BEAM miners that you can also try with or without PiMP OS: both bminer (amd+nvidia) and gminer (nvidia) have support for mining BEAM. Both miners are stable, provide good hashrates, have great command line options, and a solid API to get stats from.

In the BEAM support channel we learned about beepool and sparkpool. Example: beam.sparkpool.com:2222

I hope this information helps you.

So i'm trying to get beamcl-ver. 0.1 working with all my RX570 cards, but im stuck with only the first card mining (~8,2 Sol). Any ideas?

This now works with latest HiveOS version that support gminer 1.15

Hope beam will add support for rig naming if it stays relevant.
I played a little with amd OC, but can't figure out avg hashrate for single rig.

I'm mining there from pretty much the beginning. Have two payouts for 60 BEAM combined so far with no problem.
It's slow because they have to do it manually, still no auto-payouts coded for pools i guess.

Cool man thanks!

^^ that's cool to hear

bit odd needing the wallet online (game over cold storage! lol) + I'm sure most of you guys know this but min 5 beam for payout & again its still all manual on their end afaik

You get that message from spark pool that they are having trouble sending coin?  Keep your wallets open and sorry basically.  It's hard to understand that site as its in Chinese but not much choice around.

Here is message:
BEAM transfers has begun, please "Generating orders and initiated a transfer request" to keep users online wallet. Order No. 4 January completed not dealt with, we will deal with later. For the delay today, said he was very sorry, please understanding miners.

you can submit a ticket on their site (im sure you know)

Just pointed one 1060s rig on this and it is only using <40W per card, interesting. Also on 1809 with dch drivers all cards work.

I guess it will use lot more power under linux thought.

Think I jinxed myself. I have a 4 card rig pointed at it  3x 1070ti and 1x 1080ti.  For some reason its recognizing the 1080ti but its not hashing at all, any fix for this?

Got a rig of RX570 4GB hashing at ~8.3 sol/s. ~120W per GPU (@wall).
My rig of Vega56's is hashing at ~13.33 sol/s (-30% PL). That brings it to approx 190W per GPU (@wall).

Clocks are 1266/1900 on the 570's and 1428/900 on the Vegas. Not sure whether higher memory clocks would do anything...

Hmm fall from 4usd to 1.5usd - still most profitable, interesting. But I still did not received any, so still just a theory Smiley

Maybe they will even fix cuda miner for large rigs today so it is still most profitable, at least theoretically.

There is also even weirder pools then spark - ie. some german one ...

I do like that everyone is like - there is button on sparkpool to withdrawn if you have more then 5 beams. Cheesy But there is no button and I guess these people hope that the button will magically appear for them when they hit 5 beam

I still did not bother to find OC settings for 570/580.

I do recall ZEC when it went live was a disaster but man it made some $ at the beginning.

hows your rig stability? & whats the setup on your 1070 ti rigs?

Seem stable so far
1070Ti or 1070 even but 1070 gets you like 6/7 sol not worth it.  I tried with 1060 and its 5 sol.  I left all but 1070 Ti pointed at eth
100 core
1000 mem
120 power

AMD miner?
I just watched the video and he mentions it is equihash.
So amd cards will not be as efficient on it than using an Nvidia card.
He mentions it mines in sol and not hashes at the very beginning of the video.
This should give you a nudge of what card is best to mine this new algorithm.

Some people are mining it w/ their amd rigs on discord though

For me their nvidia miner is crappy as hell - 5out of 12 same cards do not mine with it and i do have huge pagefile. Windows. Also what is ideal OC for 1060s or 570s to mine this?

Also I did not found anything about payouts on sparkpool.
Sparkpool is not showing my hashrate from the working amd rig anymore.
I also had the mentioned issueswith miner and wallet downloads, even whole beam site was inaccessible.

So overall looks promising.

lol that last comment makes your post Cheesy

fwiw sparkpool will only payout above 5 beam accumulated and I believe it must be manually requested currently (apparently due to beam atm)
