cheers

edit:

latest update :

https://bitcoingold.org/bitcoin-gold-daily-update-network-stable/

Changes required:
Currently we are not experiencing any issues of the network. We see that the difficulty
is dynamically adjusted and the block time is between 3 minutes and 24 minutes.

Next steps:
We are in touch with major exchanges and wallet providers that have asked for the replay protection
and the unique address format in order to support us, follow their statements and start working on
integration with Bitcoin Gold. So all the users can receive their funds without any problems.
We will start planning the release of the main network very soon and will come up with release
date as soon as we are ready to announce it.

It would be much easier to have things prepared if there was a easy way to create a wallet.

How profitable can be mining BTC gold?

The first few minutes/hours of mining after a launch often produce the most lucrative earnings so you don't want to be wasting that
costly window of time setting things up.

Is any ETA from the BTG Team announced for launching the mainnet?

Btc gold is too new to mine. Wait untill it is published for real and then star mining. Also dont waste your time on btcg it is scam and will never be risen.

When will that be published?

When developers will finish some test I think. Niw is main problem to create a wallet and connetct it ti miner. I hope it gonna be sone, but the main topic for discussion "How profitable it willbe?"

Hi, guys! Mining for Bitcoin Gold has started. I have found the mining pool for Bitcoin Gold. Yes, there are not so many miners yet there, so you will be among the first ones. Here is the link for this resource. https://minepool.gold/

Isn't it testnet mining? The mainnet is not released yet

I just took a few minutes and figured out with certainty how to generate BTCG paper wallets before any wallet exists.

If you got to Shatoshi labs GitHub, it has a list of coins who have applied for a BIP44 coin key and their coin number. BTCG registered and got number 156. Now, if you go to the Coinomi Mnemonic Generator and generate a phrase - It doesn't matter which coin you choose first, because all that does is change the "Coin" number under the Derivation Path. Now, manually input 156 into the "Coin" field, and you will get m/44'/156'/0'/0 as your BIP32 derivation field, which is what BTCG will be using. Now just grab your private key, mnemonic phrase, and first couple public addresses. You're good to go. If you do it correctly your public addresses should begin with an A or a G.

Shatoshi labs GitHub: https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/blob/master/slip-0044.md
Coinomi Mnemonic Generator: https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html

Also, the coinomi generator can be saved locally and used without any internet connection to generate paper wallets for many coins on a non internet connected PC for complete safety! Plus there is a testnet to test mining on now if you look at the BTCG twitter. Claymore Zcash miner for AMD. EWBF Zcash miner for NVIDIA. Both working perfectly.

Update: BTCG liked my tweet about it apparently. Guess that means im right.

Cheers!

Thank you!  Can you share a tutorial on how to mine it with Claymore?

Ok to test the testnet

But it is not clear at all how create a wallet adress.

website claims it's easy but nothing is ready "Verified wallets that support BTC and BTG side-by-side will be listed on the Bitcoin Gold home page". Ok, but which one ?

Testnet Mining is now active but the coins have no value for the mining. https://minepool.gold/

When will it be active?  Why would anyone want to mine on a testnet?

To test and be sure that all their equipment and settings are correct before the actual launch. The first few minutes/hours of mining after a launch often produce the most lucrative earnings so you don't want to be wasting that precious window of time setting things up. Also, you don't need to spend hours on the testnet, just a few minutes of mining will verify you have everything setup correctly for when the real thing launches.

While there is currently no way to mine bitcoin gold as of now, you can get ready to mine it when it goes live by downloading an EQUIHASH algorithm miner like "EWBF's miner." Just google search and you should find it easily. Just learn how to configure it first and maybe mine ZCASH (same equihash algorithm) while waiting for bitcoin gold to go live.

claymore should work for AMD Cards according to some of the POOLS, I'm watching.

IDK,

There is a growing consensus that BTG is a scam...

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-gold-a-well-thought-scam-2253633

I think I'll use winminer or nicehash for a while to make some cash off BTG before I start mining the coins....

Bitcoin gold fork of the Bitcoin blockchain that will occur on October 25, 2017.

From what I've read it will be minable with our computers at home using the GPU.

Bitcoin Gold will provide an opportunity for countless new people around the world to participate in the mining process with widely-available consumer hardware that is manufactured and distributed by reputable mainstream corporations.

You can find more information on the FAQ here: https://btcgpu.org/faq/

Cheers!

Just keep in mind that resell price for nvidia is usually better than AMD, while AMD usually have a better cost-benefit during mining, except for 1070 which I think is almost a tie with top AMD cards.

For me, what worked better was using 1080 Ti, since you must account space, investment forecast, heat, energy consumption and resell value. I think for Nvidia you are fine with 1060 (6Gb), 1070 or 1080Ti (I wouldn't go for normal 1080 as the price don't scalate as well as 1070 x 1080 Ti reward).

Regarding the main topic, I suggest the official BTC gold website, since it will use equihash, in theory you just need a miner that works on it and direct it to any pool that works on BTC gold (you can solo mine it as well if you have enough hashs to do so, but you will need to do further research)

Thanks too...
your analysis is very good. i just want to know like ethereum mining AMD is best option at all. with modding bios we can control its power and hashes. Nvidia bios is possible to mod and we can increase its hashes and decrease power consumption like AMD Polaris cards.

Bitcoin gold is asic resistant, you won’t be able to use “a machine” from bitmain to mine this altcoin. I’m setting up my new rig tomorrow and hope to give BTC Gold a punt for a few months. Previously I’ve always mined bitcoin, but I don’t really want to add another asic to my mine - it’s far too loud!
I m also plaining a new rig for BTG.  But little bit confused about gpu brands ( Nvidia or AMD )...!!!

well you have to plan you budget in the beginning  then do some research online about gpu-s and what is convenient for you and your budget, its not about that you will get a straight answer that this is best get it and you will become rich in a few months. Tongue

For me i would go with AMD since it has proven to be good for mining rigs even though I am fan of NVIDIA for gaming rigs Smiley

Regards Smiley

Thanks for your advice... could you tell me which miner software is used for mining BTG with best hashes like in ethereum Claymore dual miner is best. some thing like that is dual mining possible with BTG?Huh

Basically if you setup your mining rig to mine something like zcash, it will most likely be the same to mine Bitcoin Gold. They have stated on their website that the algorithm they are going to use is Equihash, which means if you want the best performance, then you need Nvidia graphics cards. AMD graphics cards are better at mining Etash algorithm, however they can still mine Equihash, just not as good.

So get your rig all setup to mine a coin like zcash, and then wait for mining pools to start popping up after the fork and you will be able to switch over fairly easy.

Brother could you explain what is difference in amd and nvidia mining zcash or btg

Well both AMD and NVIDIA have different CPU so they process on a different way  the hash rate ( my opinion).
AMD video cards used to have a significant edge over Nvidia for crypto currency mining. This is no longer the case, since the verision of gtx 1070 has proven to be very good on mining as far as i have seen and in some test it has gone better than RX 580.
And mostly suggested version for mining zcash as far I have read was 1070 or an AMD  Radeon Pro Duo.
It depends on how much you want to spend too Smiley
But brother price difference is also matters...!!!
Nvidia graphics card is more expensive than AMD.
