Suggestion, download SMOS since yout don't know linux that well. You would be better off in the long run.

Kali linux is for those, who knows what he's doing. 
first download your Gpu drivers , get em listed then get claymore miner

There are also gui software available to mine ethereum such as minergate and there are other also.but be careful to select pool and pre calculate your hash rate income.And if you have low gpu then do not go for ethereum mining as it will only waste you electricity.

Just go with tutorial to mine with linux.
It's basically the same for most linux. Which coin are you trying to mine?
You have to install the supported miner package.
