I think the next thing he needs is to bring it to the meta section to get more suggestions or if he already send these sign message to the recovery email then he needs to wait to check if that address is confirmed he owns that account.

It's all already there. He created themes wherever it could be done.

Another thing is that he will no longer be able to improve the situation with his loss.
I have no doubt that the deal was with a scammer, and if you just track how many accounts belonged to the "seller", then believing in his innocence is simply illogical. I showed the first accounts associated with the seller's account, and they have negative tags.

It seems he already made a thread about this under scam accusation here's the current thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/massively-fraudulent-escrow-transaction-5410158
And it seems he already made a sign message from this post below

the hacker is asking to loan but i think there is no one that give him a loan in left me a negative mark but now gone here is the evidence

I see your account still has negative feedback from one member, why didn't you bring up the issue in the reputation board so that he removes the negative feedback that is now obsolete

Wait, are we talking about compromised Bitcointalk account here or a Bitcoin wallet?
OP was having an active deal that involved an Escrow, an account involved in the deal got "compromised" and told the escrow service that he had received the items and therefore the escrow got released

Who do I contact in regards to recovering a compromised account? This compromise lead to the theft of $11,500 in btc, and I need access back to further investigate.

Because for the latter: it's unrecoverable; or it's up to the service provider if you mean an Exchange/custodial wallet.
For the former: it's what they've said.

Set your Bitcoin address in your profile is useless. Because if your account is compromised, hacker will be able to change it. Take it off or change it.

It only makes sense if you sign a Bitcoin message from an address you control the privaye key, and stake it in the forum. Then it must be quoted by other members. Then if your account is compromised, hacker will only be able to delete your post but it is not enough. Because there are quoted posts by other members.

If you can sign another message from that address, you can prove ownership of your account.

You forget about archives. The OP's account isn't old enough for us to say the archives can be deleted as well.

But besides this, you can understand the OP, because of his loss of a fairly large amount, and make a privilege to access his account. Especially since the OP assures that he has evidence in the form of mail.

I unfortunately did not set the BTC address in my profile, but I do have access to the original email, ip address, etc... Sent an email to the address provided in the link you gave me.. Hopefully it works out.

You have already posted another thread where it belongs to in Meta .
If you follow the steps from the recovery account team i think you should be good.
But i guess it will takes some time maybe to hear from the recovery account team.
Good luck that you will be getting your account back soon.

If you followed the instructions I sent you yesterday, then you will have to wait for a couple of days to get a reply from the team. Don't worry much about not having a staked address, the original email address should be enough in this case.

I had my account get hacked back then and this is what I did. It might be worth a read for you as you wait.

Follow this guide: Recovering hacked/lost accounts

If you have signed a message with bitcoin address on this forum before, that should not be a problem if you still have access to the address private key.

Hey all, I’m sorry if this is posted somewhere, I searched around and found no clear official info on it…

Who do I contact in regards to recovering a compromised account? This compromise lead to the theft of $11,500 in btc, and I need access back to further investigate.

Thank you, and again sorry for making a thread if this is posted somewhere already. I am probably just blind Cheesy
