1. You can build some noise barrier.

2. Downclock S7 to freg 550  , put fan  to 37% to get 3000 rpm.
S5 fan to 30% to get 2700 rpm

or
3.

below only works on 1-2 miners:

1. I put S7 on a shelf rack (bottom shelf), then put couch pillows on three sides and on top shelf in an igloo fashion.
2. around exhaust, I put large poster cardboards (since I have them) to create a sort of labyrinth (like an incomplete skewed "T") so exhaust bounces off a couple of times before exiting. i had to experiment with boards to find the optimal angles.
3. This resulted in just 60-61 dB at 1m distance even on automatic fans (4320/4200rpm)

cheers

You can do two things, one is changing the standard fans on each and replace it with another fan that has lesser noise although have this is mind that by doing so the warranty will be gone and the other is to try to make the cage or cabinet you made for mining a sound proof one which might be a bit pricey but sure it works and here is an example that might give you the idea: http://www.wikihow.com/Build-a-Sound-Proof-Room

Sounds to me like you shouldn't really be mining until your living situation improves..

Hi Miners,

My neighbours have now started to complain that the humming sound have become louder from my outdoor rig, consisting of 4 miners (1 x LTC 110mh, S5 x 1, and S7 x 2). Became worse when my newly installed S7s has a whistling sound coming from 1 of the unit.

I don't have a basement. I don't have a closed room either. So an outdoor solution was what I chosen for my rigs. So far no serious heat issues but as soon as I try to reduce the noise by putting all the rigs into a small cabinet (with reasonable amount of fans).... heat increases.

I am looking to redo my rig cage, and apply some best practise for optimum cooling and substantial noise reduction.

Appreciate any suggestions.

I would really look into other possible solutions such as downcloking or better fan's.   I would personally hate to put that investment outside.

Are you able to show picture of outdoor solution?  When I hear outdoors just makes me think of a lot of possible troubles.

Upgrade fans, underclock, undervolt, wait until Winter, put a muffler on the exhausts. There are many many solutions to this.

I wouldn't however leave miners out in the open where others can see or hear.
