.... or maybe I can pause the rental and let it eek out a little at a time until the duration is reached?

1 hour, pause, 2 hours, pause, etc...

Is that something doable at nicehash?

Good to know. Thanks.

On NH, if I specify that I'm willing to pay X BTC for a certain hashrate and the duration is set to let's say 5 days...

Is the full X BTC paid up front?

Maybe I can turn it off after a couple of hours and only pay for what I used.

Is that maybe a roundabout way to get a short/specific rental duration on nicehash?

MRR and NH are the only hashrenting sites I am aware of.

I think a few yiimp based pools like https://zpool.ca/ offer something called hash tap: https://www.hashtap.ca/ but I don't know any specifics you'll have to DYOR.

Interesting. Thanks for the explanation.

So... miningrigrentals has a minimum of 3 hours per rental.

From what rentals website can I rent less than that?

Nicehash works different than for example miningrigrentals.
In NH you bid for hashrate with a price per hash capacity you set and if there are miners that are willing to rent their hash for that price you get it until somebody outbids you. Then miners that hashed for you, move to the order paying a little more. You can then either increase your bid or wait until miners are again willing to send hash to you for your current bid. Therefor rental duration can wildly vary depending on the current market and is not a meaningful value in the way NH works.

Maybe you want to watch the NH marketplace for your favorite algo a few minutes and you will see how that specific market works.

I'm coming from another rentals website, which makes selecting a duration easy. It's not immediately clear how that's done on nicehash.

Anyone have any experience selecting a specific number of hours for a rental on nicehash?

It almost seems like nicehash is forcing me to accept a duration that they set, which can't be right.

I've been waiting on nicehash tech support to answer this for a few days.

Was hoping to hear from someone in here who's actually done it.

I'm sure it's something simple, but it's not immediately obvious in their ui... at least to me.
