This is one of the drawbacks to having a distributed peer-to-peer network: it takes time for changes to propagate to all nodes. On average it should take around ten minutes for a transaction to show up, but this obviously depends on how much the network is being strained at any given moment. Also, paying a transaction fee with your transfer puts your request higher up in the queue so it ends up being processed faster. Good to keep in mind if time is of the essence.

Did you leave Bitcoin running long enough for it to download the entire block chain>?

Yep. The one in DeepBit where it says "Your bitcoin address for receiving rewards" matches the address in Bitcoin that says "Your Bitcoin Address:" The address DeepBit says is for my payment is also listed in my Address Book on Bitcoin.

So the bitcoin address deepbit has on record for you is the one you have on your Bitcoin application's main window? Or it's at least one of the ones in your address book under the receiving tab?

Okay, so I went out and bought two new video cards, ran my miner for 24 hours (and my god was that an adventure trying to optimize the procedure and learn how to overclock and what not).

So now I have a BitCoin. Major apologies if this (being my second thread ever on these forums) is in the wrong place again, but how on Earth do I turn this BitCoin into cash now that I've got it? I have the BitCoin program, but it keeps saying 0.00 balance. When I goto my DeepBit site and goto the My Account page, it no longer says I have a Bit Coin, or BTC, at the top - as when I clicked the payment button and selected the amount of coins I had listed in blue at the top, it subtracted them and put it in my "payments" section immediately. But where has the coin gone to now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Smiley
