Pandacoin did look very pro back when it was running, great design, nice wallet, custom mining app, good features etc.

I got a load of coins because i thought it would stay around for a while and possibly rise i value but i guess not, i did manage to get the wallet to connect with this conf:

rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
rpcallowip=*
rpcport=70001
p2pport=70002
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
gen=0
addnode=46.105.39.103:22445
addnode=192.169.6.147:22445
addnode=108.234.77.230:22445
addnode=75.85.143.159:22445
addnode=198.199.97.209
addnode=162.242.156.243
addnode=178.32.175.227
addnode=46.105.55.204
addnode=98.20.28.60
addnode=151.224.109.191
addnode=178.85.94.79
addnode=80.178.25.79
addnode=190.37.153.118

addnode=173.172.123.46
addnode=82.176.104.1
addnode=62.178.230.163

I also sent a load of coins to an exchange, now waiting for a confirm. It just says offline so i doubt it will ever happen.

I was just checking out some of my older cryptocurrency i had and forgot about, today i looked at Pandacoin.

I noticed the website and blockchain are down, the wallet cannot find any active connections either.

I have 5,560,082.40 PND though and wanted to add it to an exchange, is there any way to do this still? Like adding some new nodes if they exist?

Or do Altcoins that get abandoned have no way to be sent once they fade away?

I would speculate that after an exit scam the development team of a cryptocoin would stay a little longer for a few reasons like maybe they can keep scamming the community for more bitcoins. Another reason would be maybe they really think that they are not scamming and that they are building a great project even if they are really not. Or maybe someone has taken over the project. But within 10 years we will see most altcoins get abandoned and fade away.

If they are not on the exchange then why are you trying to sell them ? Where will you send them even of the nodes and wallet was up ? The exchange is not going to just ass a coon because one person wants to sell some dead coins. Who would buy them ?

you'd be surprised.

if i remember rightly cryptsy had a quite a few coins that existed nowhere other than their exchange. fibrecoin on poloniex had a monster pump when it was effectively broken and was delisted shortly after.

it just goes to show that people will trade any old shit. most alts only exist to be traded on exchanges. maybe developers should keep the chain alive long enough to send all the coins to an exchange and then shut the chain down. it'll save some electricity and hassle.

If the blockchain is down than the coin is officially dead. There is also no way to revive really in a trustworthy way as anyone can easily execute a 51% attack. So your balance is irrelevant at this point as; besides being unusable anyone could fake it.

Occasionally a new dev tries to bring a dead coin back to life. There was a coin called version that nobody mined for over ten months, then a new dev started mining it and its community backed him. Unfortunately the original was on cryptsy, and there were probably a significant sum of coins trapped there. Although the new dev managed to get it on a very small exchange it hasn't made it popular. However, version's not quite dead again yet because its still being mined.

Too bad, Pandacoin had such a bright future but we always knew it was an endangered specy  Undecided
Bright future my ass.  This is the fate of 99.9999999% of shitcoins out there.  To wit:  Within months there will be bagholders wondering what to do with coins that no one needs, wants, mines, or otherwise ever will have a purpose for.  They are going to be digital skunk piss.  All of 'em.

The only way you could send them anywhere would be to get an old blockchain, then start solo mining the coin yourself. If no other holders started syncing to your node your efforts would be wasted because you would have nobody to send your coins to.

The easiest thing you can do is accept you are bag holding a dead coin, and write it off to experience. Sometimes a dev can bring a coin back from the dead, but only rarely.

you have worthless coin, that project dead long time ago in 2014 if not mistaken, i'm not sure but i think you need to initiate it with the origin block, torestart the blockchain, just like you do on testnet, but you have no access to that because you are not the dev
