How to set up a Bitcoin mining pool?

There is a guy on ebay that does this. I contacted him thinking it was a pool/farm and was interested in how much horsepower came with a 25k bitcoin pool setup. Well, he has all the back-end stuff setup and interfaces and claims to have 100 some users.

Look and contact him on ebay. He'll build whatever you want.

Thanks for the info, but I prefer doing things myself instead of paying others for me. Wink

I've already got everything set up, just some beta testing and a domain name is all that's left. Although, I'll probably just keep it private for people that need a small pool...

What I hope to achieve is a fun, educational experience as well as help out smaller miners by providing a pool that isn't huge like ghash.io. I know plenty of people who dislike huge pools like that. I have DDoS protection, reliable internet connection, and a reliable server computer set up at home. Since this post and through a lot of testing, I have been able to create a pool that I hope some people will join. I will most likely attempt to get some people on, but if no one does, I will switch to some smaller coin that doesn't have more than one pool already open. I am not in this for the money, but to give back to the community and for a fun learning experience, as I have already stated.

There are plenty of pools but if you want to learn you can try it, just beware that you are gonna be held responsible for anything that goes wrong.. Open your mining pool to the public and add the information on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=41.0

Reynaldo makes a great post here although if you weren't specifically aiming at Bitcoin or any other high diff coins and more so as a learning experience / fun check out Nomp.
