Hey everyone.  Cool

As the topic name suggests, I want to start learning about metaverse. I don't know much about it except a bit about the general idea that I saw here and there; and I wanna know everything: The idea, the sites I can visit to use metaverse, the related cryptocurrencies I need to know about, and every other important subjects.

Google search brings up a few options, but I don't know which is the best learning material. So please help me bitcointalk's hive mind.  Grin
Learning is very important but more important experiences in it. Then you can feel the real taste. digital identity and virtual property are becoming more important than ever in the meteverse and I recommend to check Metamirror and Mbuddy. Metamirror is a decentralized web 3.0+ paradigm that is bridging data value from web2 onto web3. MBuddy is a Blockchain-based predictive identity, or mirror self, that is created by your data.

I think it is bad if you invest in Metaverse projects now as they are very vague and lot of things are for future.

When you invest in Metaverse projects, you simply have belief and want to bet. You can see many tokens have good pumps after listing on exchanges like Binance but months later, prices fall and divides 50, 100 times.

With Metaverse projects, you can experience bad falls like that.

I don't believe you only want to learn just for learning. If learning for investing later, please forget it and take care of your money.

There are a lot of them and these days, the NFT games are considered to be metaverse so let's take that description. But in reality, it's requiring the players to be in a new world which is the metaverse and the interactions are happening there. Transactions, deals, etc. the same as the normal world that we have. That should what metaverse is but with the standard that currently we have, it's just like living in a new world or game that we're playing especially for the NFT games.

I read a few of them.

Still, confused a lot ~XD I thinking, all of these #Metaverse just like playing "VR-Chat while you can play a game and associate with other game using "VR". I could be wrong from my perspective.

TBH, don't really know the work of these concept.

Actually learning about the Metaverse is already available so much, either through offers from certain cryptos that are based on Metaverse or also in several articles. But here I know that what you are looking for is something more structured, starting from the explanation, benefits, objectives and starting from the features they have provided. One of them is by visiting their official website, studying white papers, understanding the road map from Metaverse to implementation that we can use as one way to dive into the world of Metaverse. Honestly, I'm not really interested in that detail. Those of us who prefer to just invest in crypto or tokens that are in their ecosystem and don't really connect with the world they are working on.

Binance Academy is a great place to learn about crypto-related topics. Also, you can see youtube for more visual content. You can also enroll in some metaverse-related courses like Metaverse Masterclass, Virtual Reality Specialisation, Introduction To Metaverse & How To Invest In It, Start AR, and VR Metaverse Business. I have not enrolled them yet but I am confident that you will have enough knowledge from them.

Thanks everyone. Good suggestions have been made, like the other times I asked for resources here. And please don't worry, I'm new to metaverse but quite familiar with the crypto world and its wild fluctuations, so I won't invest anything unless I study it through and through.

I'll start with facebook and binance academy, and then I'll fill the gaps with metaverse canon and youtube.  Smiley

The concept of metaverse existed for decades I think. It became a trend/hype once facebook/meta started to focus on the metaverse. Just google and click on one of the links and start from there. If you don't understand anything, google that part. This is how you learn using the help of google. You have to start from somewhere.
Some of the currently trending/good metaverse tokes are Decentraland (MANA) and Sandbox (SAND). Learn about them and do your own research before making any investment.

If you would like to learn about the Metaverse, I will recommend that you start from their website – there are lots of explanations on there that can help you know the basics first (https://about.facebook.com/meta/). And after you might have learnt about the basics you can decide to dig further into how you can start investing in into the Metaverse; there are so many cryptocurrencies that you can invest in that are linked to the metaverse, and you can even use these tokens to buy a real estate in the Metaverse (mind you, these are not going to real life buildings, but digital and are only on the Metaverse platform.

So, if anything should happen to the platform you bought it from, then your digital real estate or house is as good as gone as well). There are helpful articles on Wikipedia (search for Metaverse), Business Insider, and videoson YouTube to help you start.

Looking at the forum, the amount of people starting topics about metaverse tells me that we are in something special right now. I am not saying that it is the only good thing in the crypto world but I have been around here for a long time and I do not remember this much hype about something since the ICO period and even that one may not be as big as this one since we are dealing with more money these years.

I have to say, I am not wise enough to tell you to get in or not, I can't predict if it will be high or not, but it is obvious that there are a lot of people who are showing interest to it and that's never a bad thing. Let's see what happens in the future, but I feel like in 2022 we are going to keep hearing about metaverse all the time, non-stop for sure. Definitely not something that I would mind, gonna check and find something for myself.

The Metaverse Canon: Reading guide. It collects multiple articles so that you can use it as one of initial sources for you to start learning about Metaverse.

Metaverse is a new trend, a new technology but there are something old will be repeated. Scammers will create new projects to participate in a new trend. They will abuse this new trend to hype their scam projects with IDOs, IEOs, sorts of sales in order to collect money from investors and run away.

So if you are fearful of losing money, don't join Metaverse or if you join, join top Metaverse projects that already have games, products to play and use in a few months.

The basics to do first are learning from different articles or videos, like on Youtube explaining how metaverse works.
But overall, try to first study how decentralized works, how cryptocurrency works. And after that, you can start to the metaverse, and another thing is one of the best to learn is to try it or have an experience with it. There are a lot of platforms now about metaverse which involved with cryptocurrency, just like Decentraland.

You can start to learn about the metaverse through binance academy. https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/what-is-the-metaverse

Binance academy was also giving so many materials to learn the metaverse and NFT as a part of it. It was also giving a very good explanation and course to learn more about metaverse. I thought that there's no a legit source other than binance academy to learn about metaverse and the components of metaverse itself.
Binance academy is a good example where to learn things about crypto not just metaverse and NFT only but honestly the explanation of metaverse is available on the web this days or even a single metaverse project will give you full explanation of what metaverse is for example metahero

I also don't know where to look about metaverse at first but try using YouTube for specific topic about metaverse like first what is Metaverse and next what is its system or how it works, projects that is related to metaverse and some projects we should look in the future and how the metaverse could affect the future and the cryptocurrency.

There's a lot of useful contents online if you are eager to look at it you'll see it. Though forum is also a way to look for answer.
