Hello, everyone!
I am a new person to this society as well as crypto world itself.

Could anyone recommend what resources are worth visiting in order to get decent knowledge on the tech side of cryptocurrency and mining?

For me I learned by trial and error. I read up on how to mine coins and I earned my first fractions of bitcoin. Those were in the days before ASICs (big powerful dedicated crypto-miners) so I'd recommend learning what a low difficulty altcoin is and the easiest algorithm to mine from. There are loads of tutorials embedded in a lot of the resources the guys above have posted already.

I also dabbled with exchanges. Trading coins, learning what I was trading and what I was buying. I buried my head deep into this - it was also quite exciting picking up thousands of dustcoins for a mere fraction of a cent/penny in the hopes they would moon and I'd be rich. Still to happen though, haha.

Also familiarise yourself with popular cryptocurrency scams. Our space is highly unregulated and rife for people that are literally watering at the mouth in anticipation of parting you with your money. Don't feel bad if you ever do wind up being scammed. It happens to most of us. Just be careful with what you spend and as a newb I'd only recommend trading/buying/being adventurous with only a small amount of money. That way you're not risking much. I started out playing with tiny amounts - like $5 and $10. If you ever DO want to plough in a huge amount (I've seen people mortgage their houses over this stuff) then make sure you do your in depth research. Like deep, deep research, and only go with those that have good visions - and not looking to make a quick buck at the exchanges. I had to learn this the hard way.

Also realise that crypto is very volatile. Trust your own instincts. There is no such thing as certainty in crypto. Anyone that tells you otherwise is basically saying they have a crystal ball and can tell the future. Be cautious.

But have fun. There's lots of fun to be had here, amazing people to meet, and if you land in the right group of people a fair amount of money to be had!

Good luck Smiley

how is this possible?

You created this thread:
[ANN] Dappy Wallet – a decentralized wallet built on Blockstack

and according to the thread your name is  Eugene and according to the post that Mr. Eugene did:

Hello, everyone!
I am a new person to this society as well as crypto world itself.
Hello Eugene, are you sure that you need suggestions how to start with cryptocurrency since you or your team is created multi-currency wallet last year? I'm not sure what the reason is, but some old accounts from 2014/2015 appear these days and ask the similar questions. In this case it is about account from 2017, but by post history the current owner should not be a beginner.

He must have bought this account.

Hello, I am Anastasiia.
I am working with Eugene, and he kindly gave me access to his profile, so I will learn the details about the tech by myself.

Eugene himself is a really knowledgeable person in the sphere of cryptocurrency, but he gave a chance to learn all on my own. So I decided to ask for help from the community Smiley

Sorry for misunderstanding. Not a fraud, just a bit lost in this whole interactive crypto database and community of people ready to help!

He must have bought this account.

Looks more like stolen or given for free to someone. Who would even buy newbie account with 31 activity on it.
Btw, looking to his posts history, in his last posts in russian local he also writes that he is new to forums and asks about "activity" on forum.

None of these!
Sorry, all, if some misunderstanding happened!

I am actually a new person to the forum as I am working for Eugene nowadays and learning the environment by myself!

Eugene is the true pro in crypto and he is also the boss of the company I work in, so he kindly agreed to give the access so I get into the whole crypto topic myself Smiley We are going to work on crypto and blockchain design together, and till this moment I really had no much knowledge about it.

But with all your help I will! So millions of thank you!

For a "tech side" resource, I'm surprised no one has mentioned the very obvious "Mastering Bitcoin" ebook by Andreas Antonopoulos

For knowledge, I'd say start with: https://coindesk.com/information ; that should keep you busy for a while

Also, for a good list of bitcoin and cryptocurrency-related links, check out https://coinsources.io; made by yours truly.

Since you're interested in mining, a great thread to start your journey will be this thread; First time/Small miner reference for getting started. and for online article: Everything you need to know about Bitcoin mining that's if you're interested in bitcoin mining.

For Mining (Altcoins) visit board or read through this Overview of how to mine cryptocurrency (mostly Altcoins).

As for cryptocurrency in general, just hangout more on this forum, read through previous and future discussion on the right boards with some additional off forum article and you will increase your knowledge of the technology.

Welcome buddy.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
There are various subforums dedicated to technical discussions about cryptos and of course mining. Just browse through them and dont hesitate to ask specific questions!
There are also local boards with a lot of content written in your native language, those may be a very good start to get decent knowledge about the topics you are interestrd, too!
