I wish I'd known a year ago. Then I owed a large amount of money and could not pay it due to the fact that the company in which I worked went bankrupt. I worked in a narrow IT specialization and therefore was not immediately able to find a replacement for the workplace. I started getting calls from collectors. They were very aggressive. They actually called me every damn day, sometimes even several times a day!

easy solution like change number, use a disposable telephone, change address, city, nation, state, planet, small tricks are enough
iOS has a setting now to only take calls from numbers in your phone book. That’s what I do. I never get a call where I don’t know exactly who is on the other end.
