I also went to my profile and enabled "Automatically watch topics after replying to them. (You can add all of your posted-in topics to your watchlist.)" which makes it much easier.
I wish this was enabled by default
.It is, but only for new accounts. As yours is from 2011 it wasn't.

I don't want to see the giveaway threads and a few others appear in my "show new replies to your posts" section, which is what I use to keep track of threads I have posted in. Is there any way to remove some of clutter in there? Thanks.
