I first check their tokenomics and how much percent bonus they have allocated for presale and private investors. Then I scroll through their whitepaper and check out working experiences and general background of team members. What is also important to me, is the community, which supports the project. I have seen many toxic Telegram groups and you do not want to go there.

For me I rely on the website of the ICO. Since I am not a fan of whitepapers because that most people would say, "READ THE WHITEPAPER" but then I don't still get the point that people will still be scammed. So why the website? The website contains all the information you need and how the company really eager to crowdfund their project. By just looking to their website you can see the brief details you need and the legitimacy of the ICO.

Personally, I usually read : Whitepaper, compare the previous projects same idea (concept), detect advantage project.
Other, I check roadmap, team, web, social media...etc
In team, check for their profiles on LinkedIn and try to interact with them.
In social media, search about their ratings and their social media presence like Telegram, Twitter...
I feel safer to participate in a project clearly defined roadmap and experience team.
Besides, I will check on some web review Ico...Ex : Icobench, Icorating, Icotracker..etc

And what about you?  Huh

These kind of topics been beaten for a hundred times and theres no need for you to start on another new thread with similar topics all over again.Would you mind of searching things up?

Just for the benefit of on topic, those things above are the common things of a certain investor to be done where doing all sorts of things that can prove out projects legitimacy but the sad fact that
most of us failed even those basic research into projects.

You got all points right. But do keep in mind that an ICO still might fail. So invest on your own risk. And make sure that everything they post is legitimate. Everything can be faked. Its your responsibility to find out whats fake and whats not. The team/devs are the most important person here. A well known developer/team will never risk their reputation.

All have been you explain. I just want to add the point, to see the project, learn in detail about the team, the experience of the team must be known.
