Doge, Pepe, Nyancoin, ConyeWest coin, etc etc etc- what puprose do they serve apart from making their creators rich?
how come people still buy those "empty"  coins? Huh

Noone thinks about the true purpose of the crypto currency, people buy them at a low price in the hope of making money in the future. However, forecasts for these coins` prices will still be optimistic. Now they cost very little. Almost everyone can acquire at least 1000 coins. Accessibility is what attracts users from all over the world. They are bought in jest, in reserve, as a memory of the crypto currency with an Internet meme. But, in the meantime, the more they are bought, the higher their rate.

It seems to me that people buy these coins for a joke, in order to tell their friends " Hey look, I bought Pepe!"

I am sure that they do not and can not have any real value for the community and especially for the world or for technology

Good coin asked. I think meme coins should stay as meme coins. We are taking them too seriously and it kills crypto currency market belief. This is my personal opinion. Even doge should be worth lot less..

Yeah as long as people keep investing, the meme coins will live and there'll be more of them, so, it's all on the community.

Many of the meme coins are pretty much for fun.  The projects don't get much development and there are not really any use for them besides buying a t-shirt or something.  I would not invest heavily into these types of coins.  Depending on the popularity of it, they do get pump and it is possible to make some profits trading them but just be careful and don't get burned if the dev abandons the project.

I believe, eventually the company will leave the project. so I agree with you
I'm not at all interested in altcoin memes. because it has no ideas and technology in it, as for road maps and white paper are mostly nonsense. so, better try to find ico who really has technology

Fun? Yes.

Useful? Not very.

The only use they might have is low transaction fees (like doge). But even doge might die soon enough because of the lack of development.

What did they promise and deliver to bag holders? ICOs attract investment and deliver product or service. But meme coins seem to make money out of thin air, distribute it wthout offering a real value. How come SEC is not interested in this securities creation, and  how come people still buy those "empty"  coins? Huh

Meme coin is some kind of a joke, it is somewhat called the internet currency. People only buy it just for fun or for collections since it is designed to promote a sense of community and generosity.

Whoever buys these tokens deserves to lose their money and to baghold. These type of coins are pure money grab made by devs to get rich, and as long as there are people in crypto who buy these coins they will continue to be created.

It is pretty much like all these non sense BTC forks, namely Bitcoin Gold, Silver, Platinum, Diamond, Bronze, where devs are printing money out of thin air for copying BTC code and adding one more line.

There is no reason why SEC would be interested in this, as this is not a security.
