But if he is unable to continue to lead ethereum, like every other company in the world, ethereum would survive. Vitalik is not the only one responsible for ethereum growth. And if he is unavailable, other people would rise up to the occasion.

But let’s assume that he decides to leave tomorrow and leave Ethereum for the rest of the team, I think that Ethereum will still be able to survive. Take for example, when Satoshi left the cryptocurrency community, a lot of people must have felt that it was over, but the community still continued and it never failed till today.
So Vitalik is going to leave as well, I believe he must have trained a lot of people who are as good as he is and they will be ready to take in case he should decide to leave. And one thing that matters the most is that community remains there, that’s what keeps it going. Bitcoin survived without Satoshi because no one knew his identity. But with Ethereum, that's another story. Everyone knows who created Ethereum so his disappearance will be a huge blow to the project itself. The community could find someone else to replace Vitalik, but things won't be the same. The same way Apple lost its luster after Steve Jobs died, the same could happen with Ethereum in the future. I'd be a "miracle" if Ethereum survives without Vitalik. It will show us that the project is truly decentralized and resilient, able to stand the test of time. If ethereum does not survive without vitalik, its mean ethereum is not decentralised and its mean people buying and using it just because they trusted vitalik but not the network. Look at bitcoin, its still survive without satoshi nakamoto. Strong decentralised and open source project will still a live even after the founder is death.
You can see what happened to some of the projects that were left by their top brass. or maybe just replaced with someone else. the situation is mostly bad even though their market is already pretty good.

Well, that's why it's important to build a decentralized network in a way that it can survive without you. Satoshi probably left many years ago yet his successors were able to carry-on without Bitcoin degenerating to something else. I feel it's also very important to build a system that fairly promote very talented people with similar passion and ideologies to position that will guarantee they succeed you incase you are nolonger there. It should be a merit-based that almost guarantee the talented people work in harmony.

That's how decentralization should work. But the fact that the Ethereum project is too tied to Vitalik, tells us that it's not as decentralized as we would thought it would be. Bitcoin is much more decentralized than Ethereum because the community is in-charge of its development. There are various developers working on it day and night to make it a rock-solid project for mainstream use. After all, there's no single person or leader taking direction of the project (unlike Ethereum). I fail to see how ETH will survive without a brilliant mind like Vitalik, as the community itself cannot provide true innovation to make the project stand out among the rest of its competitors. PoS will add even more centralization to the project, so I doubt ETH will last as long as BTC in the future. Just my thoughts

What people are mistaking is that Vitalik was just a content writer back in the day, who happened to have a lot of bitcoins earlier on because of his timing and then he basically took over ethereum and thats it. He is not the king of ethereum or the only owner or operator or manager or president or anything of ethereum.
Ethereum is a decentralized currency and yes Vitalik does some stuff for it and if we like it then we follow him and accept his offers but that's it, we accept it. The moment Vitalik does something which majority of people disagree with then his idea will be shut down as well, there is nobody more powerful then the people. Vitalik already laid down the foundation and the roadmap of Ethereum, and part of it is creating a team that will oversee and continue the development of Ethereum and maintains their edge over the other projects, I don't think it's going to be the end of Ethereum if ever Vitalik decided to leave the project, a good developer and organization know that they can only move forward if they have fresh talent that they can recruit and train, Buterin and his team already knows all of this they have a contingency and future plan laid out.

While I understand the content of your post and the intention behind it because Vitalik is the most public figure of Ethereum, we shouldn't forget that behind the scenes there are several brilliants minds who are able to discuss most of the technical things on eye level with Ethereum. It is not that every line of code is based on Vitalik's last word. A lot of the code by now is the result of heavy discussion between a bigger circle of people who take responsibility for Ethereum's way forward. I do however agree that Vitalik is one of a kind, he probably can't be replaced 1:1, but that isn't necessary to keep Ethereum competitive throughout the future.

Ethereum's success is inseparable from Vitalik's forward thinking in managing, ethereum has nothing in common with bitcoin, but he was able to make ethereum under one level with bitcoin, Vitalik proved successful in managing ethereum.

This is a non sense question. OP you should try to understand what means of blockchain and how it works. Ethereum was a protocol and this can be considered as the decentralized chain. Vitalik plays nothing in this case except an ethereum developers that were contributing a lot to the development of ethereum protocol. That doesn't make sense to see the blockchain to be pegged with someone.

Well, there is one other example that might give us a hint at what might happen to a coin without the creators support. One perfect example of this is when Satoshi Nakamoto suddenly disappeared and Bitcoin development was passed on to the other members of the developer's team. Bitcoin has done just fine without the head of the serpent. These projects are much bigger than just one person. While Vitalik has been monumental for eth if he leaves then they will be just fine there are plenty of other talented developers that can keep it going. Satoshi left bitcoin, Charlie left litecoin, etc etc.

He needs to think very carefully about this and begin to groom a successor or he needs to do something similar to what satoshi did and find a group of people that take care of his project when he decides to leave or he dies, if he doesn't I really think that something similar is going to happen to ethereum than what happened with Apple, Steve Jobs was Apple, and when he was forced out the first time the company was struggling, then when he came back the company once again reached its former glory, and now that he has passed away Apple is once again not what it used to be. What if without Vitalik when the situation of Ethereum is already established? I guess that's just the same as bitcoin and the development will continue through the hands of those concerned people in the community. But if it is the other situation which is there's no Vitalik from the very start, I think that it will still succeed but not the same as today since most of the early projects still got the recognition and thrived through the years because of their development.
I'm sure Ethereum will stay strong if Vitalik leaves. It wouldn't be like the Doge would still exist if Elon left them. Lol, ETH just hardford with a burn and this question comes at the right time. Ever since Vitalik created Ethereum, the project has been on a road towards non-stop success. It's been around 6 years already with ETH being the world's second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Vitalik's skills and great mindset will keep the project afloat for a very long time. But sometimes I wonder what will happen with Ethereum without Vitalik in play? The community could keep the project alive, but without a genius mind like Vitalik Buterin, ETH will be one step behind of its rivals. At least, that's the way I see it. But I could be wrong.

This is the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin runs normally without any changes, even though those who created Bitcoin have left Bitcoin, Bitcoin can run normally.
Ethereum continues to be upgrade, if there is no Vitalik of course the upgrade will stop, such as the Ethereum V2 upgrade. And blockchain site changes. Could Ethereum still be safe if their development team is gone? Hopefully my way of thinking is wrong, and please correct me.
I'm sure Ethereum will stay strong if Vitalik leaves. It wouldn't be like the Doge would still exist if Elon left them. Lol, ETH just hardford with a burn and this question comes at the right time. I think it's difficult to understand what will happen to the progress, development and sustainability of Ethereum in the absence of Vitalik, I think the circumstances surrounding his exit is what matters the most, if for example, Vitalik actually plans his exit from the Eth network, then I don't think there will be too much of a problem, cause he would prepare how exactly he'll handover the network and what he'll want the continuity to be like, that is in the case of a premeditated exit.
But having said that, if Vitalik is to leave unexpectedly on the occurrence of an unforeseen circumstance, then it could be disastrous for the network as it'll take quite a lot of time to balance things out in the absence of Vitalik.

Only one answer: ETH is losing its zest for life, which will obviously lead to price chaos. Because of course this is the key to the success of ETH, and until now Vitalik still can't be used, even if there is it won't be the same as him.

Vitalik is the reason why ethereum still standing right now in the market at the 2nd place . So without him for sure there will be no ethereum anymore once it fails again or there's an error occurred on the project,. Because tbh only vitalik is the real key why ethereum became a successful project in the space.. So without him there's no ethereum even before IMO and maybe there are crypto currency that will replace the throne..
of course with the community of Ethereum, so as long as Ethereum is still popular and remains the choice as a long-term investment, then of course Ethereum will definitely survive forever and I also believe that Ethereum will definitely remain the right choice for a long-term investment, especially if ETH 2.0 has been launched, then of course it will affect for the price of Etheruem to be able to increase higher than its ATH price, therefore I chose Ethereum for my investment, because by investing in Ethereum, then of course in the future I can definitely get a lot of profit and become rich.

Most of the biggest organizations I know have an established plans for succession as we don't know what can be in this world. And I am sure that Vitalik Buterin himself is aware of the importance to have this succession plans in placed. Now, we know that Ethereum is always connected with this young man and if ever he can be taken out for any reason then most probably the whole network can be affected but it does not mean the end of it. Just look at Apple right now and soon we could see the main man in Amazon to be stepping down and even CZ of Binance is already thinking of having someone filled up his shoes in Binance. Ethereum will still be Ethereum and will continue to be growing without Vitalik though I am not wishing this to happen any time.

Well, that's why it's important to build a decentralized network in a way that it can survive without you. Satoshi probably left many years ago yet his successors were able to carry-on without Bitcoin degenerating to something else. I feel it's also very important to build a system that fairly promote very talented people with similar passion and ideologies to position that will guarantee they succeed you incase you are nolonger there. It should be a merit-based that almost guarantee the talented people work in harmony.

This is a good question! Unlike Bitcoin where Satoshi left the development so there's no central point of failure, in ETH, Vitalik seems still controls the development. If he steps down in the near future, I think there will be a civil war in ETH community. However, ETH community will mature over time, so in the event where he steps down (when he gets old, retired or something), I think the development will still continue.
BUT the question of survivability isn't entirely about him since there will be smarter people born every day, and may come up with greater idea than ETH.

ethereum has grown enormously in the market. we might see when ethereum is without Vitalik in the future. the community is certainly a strong background for the survival of ethereum in the market.
but of course, there has to be someone as extraordinary as Vitalik to continue the development of an already large platform.

Vitalik was playing a role to give a contribution for what kind of innovation that must be implemented into the ethereum protocol. We know that if the bug and problem will always there and that's why vitalik was playing the main role to think about what kind of solution to be implemented to fix the problem but this doesn't mean if vitalik was not with ethereum and ethereum will die.
