I can't understand why the silk road 2.0 admin lived in the USA. What a fucking idiot. He will go in jail for at least 1000 years in the US. For example in germany he could go out after maybe 5-10 years.

Germany? The country that sends tickets to it's citizens for downloading copyrighted material?

I think its fine to send citziens tickets for downloading copyrighted material.
Did you even read the posts you were replying to? You think its fine to send citziens tickets for downloading copyrighted material, yet he would get only 5 years in prison if he was living in Germany? There's no good reason to say that the sentence would be smaller if he was in Europe in the first place, especially if he lived in Germany. You're probably not aware that Germany has some of the most strict laws in place, internet freedom there is more limited tan you think. There's a reason that the only represenative in the European parliament elected from the Pirate party was from Germany.

Ahahah european citizenship is in fact fucking easy to get compared to the US one. Just choose a eastern european nationality and you can go everywhere in Europe. And of course, you won't go in jail for 1879879 years if you smart enough to live in a western country (not in eastern country like hongaria where you can go to jail during 20 years for a bag of weed Cheesy ) like France, germany, spain… Portugal seems like to be a good one, it's the poorest western european country but has the less repressive legislation on drugs.

Anyway he is just stupid imo, next one will be in russia or some ghetto asian country I guess. Or why not in the islamic state ? xD

Oh and btw DO NOT invest in coins made by eastern european dev's.

I suppose getting European citizenship or a permit to stay is not that easy for an american.

If you have a decent amount of money it should be possible to get as an american a citzenship in a country where you can't go in jail for 100+ years. But maybe I'm wrong also.

There is a thread in the bitcoin speculation section where the OP thinks shutting down the first silk road led to the bitcoin bubble before last Christmas.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/silk-road-fall-led-to-nov-2013-bubble-silk-road-2-fall-leads-to-849321

Most of the alts also got pumped up at around the same time. Maybe shutting down a silk road clone might result in another bubble for bitcoin and the alts.

I thought there were loads of silk road 2.0 sites now. I never checked but I read there were quite a few competing sites. If one got taken down, what about the rest? I doubt it will affect alt coins, or bitcoin much if there are plenty of other silk road type sites still trading.

Actually many of the most known darknet markets are offline right now. The situation about those other websites is unclear at the moment. Given all the madness that's been following Tor website's lately I predict darknet marketplaces will move to I2p.

Also, there's been some thought on darknet marketplaces built in freenet.

I could be misunderstanding the report, but it seems the FBI did not seize any coins this time. The affidavit states that they had all their BTC stolen in a hack during September 2014.

For people who only watch the Altcoins section on this forum, you have to know that Silkroad 2.0 is gone, with all his bitcoins taken by the FBI.
Let's debate here about the impact it's going to have on our dear scaltcoins Wink
