Welcome to the SaltySpitoon, how Tough are ya?
I feel like it would be incredibly boring. You know when you've seen enough movies that you can 100% predict the entire plot of any movie you watch without needing to watch it? Thats what I imagine a world without stupidity would be. If everyone operated completely logically always make the best possible decisions, a lot of excitement would be gone. I dont think that the world would necessarily be a better place, crime would still happen and atrocities would still be committed, it would just be more methodical.

Just think about that, a planet where all the people is smart,

Then the less smart would be considered stupid. BTW I have observed that success in life, whatever that normally means, is not much correlated with intelligence as we traditionally understand.

I don't think that stupidity and ignorance are the problem, they're not the worst thing.

I've met stupid people who are generous and kind, and intelligent people who are really unpleasant. Think about the financial crisis that triggered the birth of bitcoin - the people who caused that weren't stupid, they were just greedy and selfish and couldn't care less that they were f**king up the world, so long as they personally benefitted.

If we had a world where all the stupid people were gone - then it wouldn't make a great deal of difference, whoever is least intelligent out of those remaining would become the new definition of stupid. They'd be mocked, marginalised, downtrodden etc.

But if we had a world where the selfish and greedy people were gone, then maybe it would be better.

Really who knows? Maybe the problem is that stupidity, selfishness etc will always be here in one way or another, and the answer is to try to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity, and that we try to mitigate the effects of inequality by doing our best to ensure that society's measure of success isn't based on competition against other people.

Ignorance and stupidity can actually be beneficial to the person. Just imagine how much happier would you be if you didn't know some of the things you knew.
I always thought that. But while they may be happy, but it's for sure they will never feel the joy of knowledge.

Once you get to know how it feels to surpass your own limits, to learn something completely new without effort, you never want to stop.

Or maybe ignorant and stupid are that much better at reproduction. Makes you ponder for a minute  Grin
Well, they're highly trained - when removing everything that is intellectual, all that is remaining is the basic animal needs, including reproduction.

Of course, this needs a reference to the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

Growth needs do not stem from a lack of something, but rather from a desire to grow as a person. Once these growth needs have been reasonably satisfied, one may be able to reach the highest level called self-actualization.

Every person is capable and has the desire to move up the hierarchy toward a level of self-actualization. Unfortunately, progress is often disrupted by a failure to meet lower level needs. Life experiences, including divorce and loss of a job, may cause an individual to fluctuate between levels of the hierarchy.

Therefore, not everyone will move through the hierarchy in a uni-directional manner but may move back and forth between the different types of needs.

Have you been in a classroom where everyone seems to be intelligent? I mean their intelligents in on or almost on the same level. I won't like to live in a world like that, learning (the motivation that keeps me moving) will stop as there isn't anyone intelligent then me to learn from. The world will just be boring than it currently is.

But religion is an ignorant and stupid thing... Snakes talking, Mans dividing the sea, and a guy who resurrects after some days to be dead are those kinds of lies who makes me feel bad for religious people.

I am not a believer as that is understood, but you are only considering the superficial part of religion and the more "hallucinogenic" part of one religion (Cristian).

What I mean is that you cannot categorically assert that there is not something somewhere that you may not know and still exist, regardless of how little sense can make transforming water in wine or resurrecting after being tortured and killed.

TBH, I think that it makes as little sense to live a life with the purpose of having the largest sum of money available or a trophy partner or the coolest Lambo as it makes to pretend that religion assertions are facts and must be believed and, for the more radicals, enforced upon others.

Ignorance is a function of education, social conditioning and media influence. Stupidity is the blind acceptance of received wisdom and the propaganda of those who would control the population.

Stupidity is a subjective opinion, and is not related to intelligence. As the late Victor Serebriakoff was wont to say "Just because you are intelligent, it doesn't mean you can't be stupid". Victor was the honorary president of world MENSA. He died on the first day of this millennium of prostate cancer, which is a preventable disease.

Education is the path to the reduction of ignorance, but not if the education is provided by the brainwashed snowflakes that we have as teachers at the moment. Some how we have to reverse the misinformation about health and disease that is taught to enhance the profits of big Pharma. Fortunately people are starting to become aware of the damage that the banking cartels have wreaked on the world, and 2019 looks as if it may be the start of the escape. Trump and Brexit will be great starts to help us to return to prosperity.

The sad part about this is ignorance and stupidity is the reason why humans haven't extinct yet.

I would phrase this a little bit differently. As an individual who believes in evolution it seems to me that ignorance and stupidity must be really desirable trait in our species if it is manifested so often. Or maybe ignorant and stupid are that much better at reproduction. Makes you ponder for a minute  Grin

Stupidity is something I ponder a great deal. I have come to the conclusion that there really aren't very many genuinely stupid people in the world at all.

Instead many people are addicted to instant gratification no matter what the consequences are, lack curiosity, can't be arsed to apply their perfectly adequate mind to anything and assume collective problems will be dealt with by someone else. All of those character flaws lead to deeply stupid and destructive choices.

Anyone is free to believe anything he wants, that's freedom, and if you want to pray for God in a crisis, that's valid too. But religion is an ignorant and stupid thing... Snakes talking, Mans dividing the sea, and a guy who resurrects after some days to be dead are those kinds of lies who makes me feel bad for religious people. The plane earth has more sense than that and still bullshit.

So, religion is part of the list because makes people believe on tons of lies who doesn't have any proof, as they say, the faith is blind. So, for me, that's just more ignorance.

I understand. I believe that those apparently silly stories were very important for our culture and society.  Moral, ethics, and even human rights were based in religion beliefs.

There was never a society without a religion. As far as I know.

Well, that's ok, I am not religious, but I would tag religious people as stupid. Also, I believe that tagging them is useful for some political ideologies, which are ,in my opinion, more harmful than religions.

Religion is a tool created by smart people with the goal of manipulation. And the ones who let the smart guys manipulate them abusing their ignorance are stupids.

But i'm agreed with your arguments, religion has been part of our society and will be like that for the next years, but as you can see the new generations are not believers, and that's because now people have access to information. The truth can't be hidden anymore.

I just don't understand why you added religion to the list, as if everyone who have a religion is ignorant and stupid. That's not true.

Religious motivated wars are  stupid, but not the religion itself.

I am not a religious guy, I don't even have a religion...
If you were the victim of a shipwreck and were holding your life on a piece of wood, would not you pray for God to help you?

Someday I read somewhere that your only true believes are the ones that you still hold when you are facing eminent death.

I think it's relative. If what we currently consider ignorant and stupid is suddenly gone we would probably find other things to be ignorant and stupid about.

But if you mean that we would all achieve the exact same level of intelligence so that no one is more stupid than anyone else... well, that would be utterly boring.

One day we wake up and ignorance has gone.

Just think about that, a planet where all the people is smart, a place without a percent of people thinking the earth is plane... a place where religion sound like a fantasy story, and where kill, cheat or steal is just nonsense. A place who doesn't need laws or rules because no one would do something stupid that could affect other people.

Well, in that scenario the humanity would make a massive communal suicide... They will realize the damage we are doing to the planet, how hard we fucked up and how we are the worst parasite for our planet in his history.

The sad part about this is ignorance and stupidity is the reason why humans haven't extinct yet. We will keep killing our selves and destroying the planets just how we do it day by day.

So, what's your theory about a world without ignorance and stupidity?
