Hm, smart answer. But there so many people on the planet. If we open wallets for everyone, than everyone gets a small piece of pie.  What is the benefit?

What is that the basic income? I don't know where the 2 posters above me came about governments and salary?
Your question doesn't make any sense, you don't even know what blockchain is and how it works or what it does.
It stores data in an encrypted and compressed state, you could however set the rules about storing and how hard it'd be to change the data deep in the blockchain.
You could do whatever you want but in bitcoin's case blocks are generated only after computing trillions of hashes then making it impossible or very hard for anyone to change anything in the already mined blocks.

Once again basic income for who? from where?

It's simple, I wouldn't. I think this is something that socialist countries in Western Europe feel is worth it but I've never really been one to understand why it'd be a good idea to just give people money for nothing, the only reason I'd be giving people money is if they'd be working for me or providing me a service in some way.

This is just going to lead to a government or an individual wasting a ton of money on something that isn't really going to do anything except cause inflation (If Gov) as they'd be printing money to simply give away and then these people would be inciting an increase in spending and so on.

So, don't do it and it'd simply just be a waste of money bud.

I don't think we really need blockchain to receive basic income if the government really want to give it to us. They can just drop it into our bank accounts if they want to. I guess the blockchain would just have certain advantages at record-keeping, preventing a few parasites from gaming the system and ruining the fun for everyone.

Hmmm, maybe if tx fees are already low enough to handle microtransactions, having the monthly allowance in bitcoins could would allow the gov't to track when and on what the money was spent. Maybe they can set up rules where the money given can only be used to buy necessities (no cigarettes or alcohol) and can't be sent to mixing services.

Of course they can use their own blockchain to handle all this, maybe this would be the first use of digital fiat if they'd ever make one.
