Did it have to do with any crackdown against BTC in China?   Huh
I believe that the crackdown only affected those facilitating the exchange of BTC, not those selling bitcoin related products. I'd expect that it is like greenplastic is saying, that the items on the store had no use being there as they were all sold out.

It'd be nice if BTCC_Official could comment here though, to let us know for sure.

This would be my understanding of things as well - that the site is down purely because there is literally nothing left for sale.

When I met and spoke with Bobby Lee last month, he gave no indication that the site was going to be taken down. Further, I was also advised of a new project in the pipeline (no details available here, don't ask haha) and was kind of expecting a new launch soon. When soon? No idea.

I will shoot an email to BTCC and see if I can find out what's going on with the website.

Interesting and will be watching for BTCC response, hopefully it has to do with the items being sold out as others referenced.

I'd think so digi.

I thought BTCC were thinking about stopping sales of physical coins and that the silver ones they just auctioned off was their last run (until they figured out what was going on with the regulations there). I could be mistaken  Huh

Hmmm, where did you hear this? The Silvers were completely different from anything BTCC has done before, with the biggest obstacle meaning you were pretty much forced to travel to China if you wanted any of these coins. It was a trip I made, along with a couple other users I am aware of. Hell of a long way to go for a few physical loaded coins Grin

BTCC have made no mention (that I have seen anyway) of ceasing their activities at BTCC Mint - the exact opposite was not so subtlety hinted to me when I spoke to members of staff while I was in China. I can't really say much more than this, but I am 99% sure that the Mint business of BTCC Brand isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

It was always my understanding that BTCC was ceasing all operations due to the crackdown.

As above, this is incorrect unless something else has happened since I last had a chat with a BTCC employee. Looks like I need to get in touch and find out.

Lastly, if BTCC ever makes more precious metal coins in the future - the same thing will apply like the 1 & 2 BTC Silvers that were minted recently. What I mean is this; if you want any of their new coins (precious metal if they go that route again),you are going to need to make a trip to China to collect your purchases.

However should they go back to using Titanium, non precious alloys, and anything else like that, then I am going to assume that BTCC would be able to sell the items through the normal webshop with delivery to anywhere in the world (with their usual exclusions, USA and a couple others I remember seeing).

I'll update here again once I have received a response from BTCC.

Thanks

Does anyone have any more infos? The site is still linked from https://mint.btcc.com/ but https://store.btcc.com/ is offline, only an empty shopify page comes up

Yeah, It seems that the page recently was changed to shopify blank.

Probably decided to remove all items, since they were ALL Sold Out anyhow.

Let's hope BTTC is just making room for another big project in near future. Hmm.

I actually liked to visit the page to see the pictures/data/prices

Sad
