I heard somewhere that most of the Huawei phones are spy gadgets being used to spy on people who uses their phones. I wouldn't be using their phones at all am already having serious doubts about all smartphones spying on us in the first place.

As far as i know huawei did not just add this wallet to their playstore, but it is also going to be pre-installed on all of their devices running their OS.
The AppGallery will be pre-installed in all devices. But not the BTC.com app.

AFAIK is just like a Play Store, but for Huawei devices.

If this particular BTC.com wallet app will not be pre-installed, this news is useless.

Seems like online sources do have different 'opinions' on this matter. I have found quite a lot which state that this wallet is going to be pre-installed.
But the 'more reliable' ones do state that this wallet is only being added to the 'play store' which is going to be pre-installed.

They must just be filling in their own app store to gather some more customers, this brand owned app stores are really not doing well specially the ones in android as they are competing with Google Play Store, if they really want to step in the must create their own exclusive apps which I don't think fits in their budget plan. I won't even consider it as a step up really as other Bitcoin wallets are available now in the Play Store. Not to mention that Btc.com's wallet is also available in the Play Store.

Plus keep in mind who uses "Huawei" anyways. When working for telecommunication center the age demographic was elderly people who wanted to jump into smart phone but nothing expensive but easy to use. So regardless of the company jumping into BTC wallet majority of their cliental won't be using it or will be confuse by it.

That would be a great progress for BTC wallets users.
I heard this option already few months ago, but nothing happened untill now, so i hope this time they are really really to give a pre-installed btc wallet.
I imagine this is also dependant upon the regulamentations that governaments are giving to the use of crypto in most countries (Europe and Usa/Canada for example).
Remember that most of the pre-paid credit cards in BTC have been stopped (Xapo for example)
Those were used also as btc wallets by many

I've a feeling it won't happen this easily (probably it'll take a few more years for this sort of stuff to happen), but if it does happen, it'll be a major sign of mass adoption of bitcoin/bitcoin cash.

Bloomberg and CNBC seem to be covering this news:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-10/huawei-is-about-to-give-chinese-users-easier-access-to-bitcoin
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/11/huawei-adds-btc-com-cryptocurrency-wallet-to-appgallery-app-store.html

Too bad BTC.com also includes the support for Bitcoin Cash, though.

Today it's Huawei tomorrow it's Apple.
Except that Apple already has tons of crypto related apps in their AppStore Roll Eyes

While on the one hand it is 'nice' (in terms of adoption) that a wallet is going to be pre installed (altough a wallet which does not 'recommend' btrash, would be more trustworthy),
i am not a real supporter of pre installed apps at all. It just doesn't feel right.

Huawei is the third biggest mobile phone seller and now they made the step to include a Bitcoin wallet - BTC.com crypto wallet, in their app store. Even though that might not seem as a big step, it certainly is a positive move toward adaptation of the cryptocurrencies and recognizing them. We hope that other mobile manufacturers also support the cryptocurrencies and work toward integrating them as more and more people use mobile payments on their smart devices.
