The best we could do is when we see something, we should say something, there are a lot of illegal businesses people are doing secretly which are against the law of the country or human nature, but when the parent neglect the responsibility of their children, they try to go around in seeking for opportunities where there's none, some of them ended in landing into such menace of human trafficking all in the name of seeking for opportunities to make it in life.

Also, we should belive victimes when they speak up. We shouldnt invalidate their experiences or blame them. If we all keep an eye out for shady stuff and speak up, we can help stop human trafficking. It's sad that some folks, especially kids, get into it because they're desperate for opportunities.

Exactly since a lot of victims were only looking for job opportunities when they get victimized, a lot of people blame them and think that they went into it
fully aware and willing to be exploited but in most cases that is not the case at all

Some people just do not have the choice anymore but to continue with it because they are still in need of a job

Human trafficking is one of the most lucrative illicit businesses in Europe, with criminal groups making about $3 billion from it per year, making it a considerable criminal business that preys on the world's most marginalized persons
But the profits from these forms of trafficking are reversed: Nearly two-thirds of global profits ($99 billion) come from sex exploitation while $51 billion result from all other forms of forced labor. This goes to show you the amount of degradation we current humans are.
Human trafficking is one major area we've missed as humans and our view on it has almost reduced us to the extent where we no longer have feelings for our fellow humans.

It's sad that sex exploitation is now a normal business  that is common in different part of the world and in most African countries you see different false scholarships that's just designed to lure victims into using them for the purpose of trafficking. It's obviously one of the most profitable business around the world because it's easy to lure an average person from so many part of the developing world into it by promising little peanuts.

Human trafficking exists everywhere not just in Europe, and the numbers may be a lot higher than the report says because no one really has accurate stats about underground business.

If you want to stop people from sex exploitation then the government has to take action like bringing food to the tables of the family who are starving so they won't be selling their children for some money and abduction is something to do with law and order of the country itself so the government is solely responsible for whatever happens.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Human trafficking mimics a negative spiderweb with numerous threads connected together. Poverty and a lack of education are not the only reasons, but they are obviously important. Corrupt authorities, weak rules, and social attitudes toward women and children can all contribute to the possibility of human trafficking.

Governments play an important part in fighting human trafficking, but it is an extensive issue that necessitates a comprehensive approach. This includes enforcing laws, expanding security assets, and partnering with non-governmental organizations and community organizations.

But don't forget that prevention is better than cure. So, let us start avoiding things that we will later regret.

The government can create all the laws it wants but it needs to enforce it and that's only possible if they manage to eradicate the corrupted people who are in the system. There is no way these things are possible without their support and they get paid for every one that has been moved in their territory. We as a common citizen can do only one thing, that if you every witness such incident then report it somewhere that it will be considered and actions against their activites.

Human trafficking's is against the law, i don't even know how unearth some people could be that heartless in doing such nonsense and call it in the name of doing business, that is totally insane, we cannot auction human being for sale for any reason, those that engage into doing such are directly denying others a good standard of living and should therefore be punished as such also.
Human trafficking is against the law but we still see people trying to traffic people from country to country with the government putting attention to that. It is very important for us to know what we are doing so we don't become a victim of this.
Those countries that human trafficking is happening are most war infested countries with full regulations. This also happens in advance countries and we need to be aware of this. I don't think human trafficking will stop anytime soon because the rich are the ones in charge.

And it all happens because most governments have outlawed guns for their average citizens.

A big, 250-pound muscleman can easily rape, mug, and kill a 90-pound teenage girl. But if Girly has a gun, she at least has a chance. Even if Muscleman has a gun as well, she still has a chance.

I completely agree with you. Human trafficking is a worldwide problem, and it is of the utmost importance to understand the fundamental root causes of human trafficking, such as insecurity and hunger. When people are struggling to put food on the table, they may turn to their children. So, both education and economic growth can assist to reduce human trafficking over time. When people have access to beneficial career paths with adequate benefits, they are less likely to be attracted into human trafficking by the promise of a better life, because it provides them with the skills and knowledge they need to detect and avoid certain situations.

There are legal  human trafficking  and those are mostly happened in Asian countries where people are documentarily hired and promised a certain work abroad but once they are there , things changed and instead of being worker of this and that? they become slave in works they don't like or desire and what is common now is that they are being forced to scam people , and yes there are so much happening in the news that they are being beaten if not following or getting the quota.
I doubt if it's legal, the world is already getting developed and no country will legalize such acts, you can be specific on the Asian countries cause I doubt for real. Human trafficking is still happening everywhere around the continent just that it is done on a hide and their main reasons are always for sexual exploitation.

If something like this is happening in Asian countries and their leaders made it legal for their citizens to use as a business to enrich themselves in the land,i s not a good thing and, it will make them not to value human being in that particular countries because there are some machine you can introduce in the country that will be helping people to do whatever they want to do without making use of human trafficking.

I know human trafficking is very rapid in many countries but many governments are fighting human trafficking to ensure people stop involving themselves in such attitude in their various countries.

In almost all the countries of the world, horrible incidents like human trafficking are happening constantly. According to the statistics, about 21.5 million cases of human trafficking have been reported so far. The main purpose of human trafficking is to use the people for illegal gain in many dangerous activities including forced sexual exploitation, begging, leather tanning and stone mining. Trafficking refers to children and women. As they are forced to participate in various commercial and immoral activities through human trafficking, they are known as digital slaves in the present era. It is a very sad phenomenon and I think it is only when human humanity is hindered that these phenomena become apparent.

Only the cruelest mindset can do this heinous crime and there are different kind of human trafficking and only harsh punishment for the preparators will reduce it and I have come across cases how they are used for bonded labours, begging by gauging their eyes out or amputating their limbs and the list goes as long as organ trafficking and forced prostitution but this has to end but it's still exists pretty actively due to the fact that some big names are involved hence no stringent actions are taken against them. There was an incident in Libya wherein an Libyan human trafficker was torturing Bangladeshi migrants and they retaliated by killing him then the human traffickers family killed more than 20 Bangladeshi people as a revenge they are so powerful because they pay bribe to politicians and local cops. These anti social elements should be eliminated.

I came to discovered that the more the government is try to stop human trafficking in their country, the more the traffickers discover new way in which the government agents will never know that such business is still running in the country unless they exposed themselves before people will know that there are still traffickers in the land.

I will not lie to you op, there are human trafficking all over the world and the reason why you thought is only Europe land that human trafficking is happening  is because their government agents are seriously working to expose those that be caught during their operation, but it will be difficult for other countries to catch traffickers in their country.

It is sad to see that the rate of human trafficking is increasing, due to jobless people also increasing every day in various countries. This is why people seek to travel abroad to a land of greener pasture. Unfortunately, these jobless citizens will see people that are ready to take them to abroad, unknown to them that they are going there for prostitution. When they get to that country, since they are new and don't know anybody there but only the person or company that took them there, they will be forced into prostitution, and if they refuse, they might get killed, or get drugged, so that men can have sex with them, so that the human traffickers can still achieve their aim. Before you know it the girls will not be able to resist this for a long time and they will involve fully into prostitution and paying some certain amount to their Boss.

I have seen some of these gurls that was taken abroad for prostitution, and they do regret that they were deceived and if these girls have the opportunity to kill the person that took them there, they will do it happily because it was not their wish to be prostitutes but they were forced into it because of the bad economy in their countries. I gave met a lady that told me about her experience in Italy, when she was deceived by her someone from her community that came back from Italy during the xmas holidays.

Human trafficking is a serious problem we are facing mostly many people who are desperate to make more money abroad traffick children , is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit.men, women and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crimes, which occurs in every region of The world. The traffickers often use violence or fraudulent employment agencies and fake promises of education and job opportunities to trick and coerce thier victims human trafficking is the worst than a drug trafficking

Most of these women were transported via ship which is not possible without the involvement of a border agency so the corrupt system makes the traffic possible. It does happen more often from poor regions like Asian and Africa people are exploited for sex, organs, and even the skin for some women's skin surgeries.

This bring side question, where are you feminist women? Stop undergoing cosmetic surgery will save thousands of poor women.

I believe the rate of human trafficking is worse than reported, especially in underdeveloped countries. Traffickers get victims from these countries and distribute them to different parts of the world.

Human trafficking is bigger than illegal arms dealing. It is second only to drug trafficking.
IMO, I feel human trafficking has not been taken seriously the way other crimes have. Don't get me wrong, I know there are men and women who work their asses off and risk their lives to fight this crime, but I feel the world and government in general is not doing enough.
Take the US for example, there is an Agency for drug trafficking (DEA). There is a Bureau for Firearms and Explosives (ATF) but is there an agency assigned to human trafficking? I feel like it's not getting the attention it should get. I may be wrong, but that's how I see it right now.

In countries battling Bokoo haram, especially Nigeria, people get kidnapped regularly and these terrorists ask for ransoms, if the ransomes are not paid, the girls and women are sold off or used as sex slaves. I'm saying this because the government is not really doing enough to ensure the safety of these victims. They don't really care what happens to them.
I was reading about these kidnappings recently and it just gets me annoyed because there are so many ways the government can track down these terrorists but they don't.
I've also read about a lot of missing people in South Africa and most of them are never found.
Human trafficking is actually bigger than we know it to be

It is a big business because African countries do not provide means of achieving dreams and many people believe, there are more opportunities overseas.

That desperation is what traffickers are capitalizing on.

It is really a very daunting task.  Those who do this unscrupulous business are undoubtedly very vile people.  They should be brought under the law.  The administrative system should be strengthened.  These businesses mean the downfall of the human race.  Human society is becoming a very ugly race.

We can see more of this in many advanced countries bring children and females for sex trafficking business.
This kind of business had been in existence for centuries and I'm not sure if it's going to be stopped one day. There are so many victims of human trafficking and most time when they explain there agony and what they had passed through in the hands of there traffickers, the story is always excruciating to the core. This traffickers has no pitty and they usually sex use there slaves.
Most times I ask questions like is there anything like karma? or God to judge all this? because this people live the best of life even with the highest number of atrocities yet they make it out without facing the law.

Why am i even talking about law when they are the law themselves and how then can they be punished. You may be thinking human trafficking is just majorly children and women both men too. There are some men that I know who are suffering inside some under prison because they where enslaved while chasing greener pastures. When we see some boxers fighting especially blacks who came out of prison if they exposed how they got there you will find out that it's all human trafficking from the elites which makes them go silent because if spilled out they might even loss their lives.

Like I said it's very broad that we that thinks we aren't enslaves are still under this human trafficking especially blacks.

This topic is so wide that I can't finish expressing myself here because I have too many things to say. Around the world not just the prominent countries human trafficking is one of the most paying illegal businesses, the way it's been handled I don't think it will be put to an end any time soon.

Infact, an ordinary citizen can't just go into human trafficking because of how complex and wild the business is, most of the elites of this countries are the sponsors and at the same time in the governments. This is why it's very difficult to end such an evil. well I just pray blacks get out of this shit soon because they are most exploit among all even from history Africans are most exploited.

Human trafficking is indeed one of the worst form of the crime where profits are driven using desperation of marginalised people who are already struggling for a better life, but what saddens ne is the fact that thousands die enroute to Europe from sub Saharan nations through Libya and the horrific stories of these human traffickers sexualy exploiting the helpless people and torturing them and sometimes throwing them out in ocean when the boat is overcrowded. This can be fixed only if world focuses on ongoing conflicts and work on resolving it so that people don't have to leave their country rather than using it for an opportunity to sell arms.

Human trafficking

Human trafficking is illegal in many or most countries. But in the free world, human trafficking laws are mostly broken by traffic cops. How? They pull you over, and act like they are talking to you. But they are really talking to the person on the drivers license, which is just a piece of paper covered by some plastic. And they try to get you to convict yourself by telling them that you are this person. So governments in the so-called free world do some of the greatest human trafficking.

Be careful with this shit, don't end up like this guy:

After Allan was pulled over Wednesday, he refused to get out of his car and “asserted his independence from the laws of the land,” Farmington police have said. The initial officer called for backup and four more officers responded. As they tried to remove Allan from the car, an officer yelled that Allan had a gun, and the five officers opened fire.

I don't really understand the part of his post where he refers to the police talking to the person on the driver license Instead of the person behind the steering wheel. I mean, if one is pulled over by the police and one gives them a driver license, that document is supposed to be issued specifically for the person who is driving in that moment, otherwise, it would imply something like ... Trying to give a differen License to them which does not actually belongs to the driver?
How does this have anything to do with human trafficking?

By the way, that news is quite disturbing... Makes me wonder whether the person in that car was under the effects of some drugs or drunk. To me it does not make sense to try to try the authority like that, unless he was hiding something illegal in his car or something...  Sad

Humans trafficking has become the order of the day,in this modern life, just like someone has already said here, that it is no longer only in the European country it's now everywhere, people have taken it as a way of earning their living by human trafficking,..and this is a clear indication that the world is coming to an end, because I remember the story my father told me, about things that are abomination and if someone commit such a thing he or she will be banished from the land, and people are fearfully respect the law,but nowadays people has no respect and regard to things that the land is forbidden and they've ignored the whole thing and do whatever they like, you can imagine someone who is into a human trafficking and he is bold enough to call it his office..

In our country Africa alot of people are into humans trafficking and our government is not doing enough because if they are doing enough it would have stopped, this is a business i hate with passion, talking about our girls who have been into sexual business and nothing is being done about it to put it to a stop because this is the one of the abomination things people are doing ....

The traffickers use deceptive words, authority or force to lure victims.

There's no how someone can use a deceptive words on me when I when I know the right thing from the wrong, when am even well informed than him, what catch most people who happen to be their prey is due to their lack of informations, exposures, understanding and knowledge, some also out of their greedy nature got into their trap because they promised them peanuts and that seems to be very big and tangible in their sight.

I have a question, is this considered modern slavery?

I never really thought that it was this high kind of business and never it would be ceased by the government because they are actually making money out of it and this is scary. Thankfully! we don't have such kind of problem here in our country maybe due to the fact that they cannot actually operate here due to a complicated process to take people out of the country unless they deceived them.

I also once saw a video where they actually stole little children who were walking down the road or just playing and they are taking them as if they were just taking a cat or a dog. After that, the children are lost forever from their parents.

The traffickers use deceptive words, authority or force to lure victims.Anyone in any part of the world can be a victim of human trafficking irrespective of the gender, religion, race etc.Human trafficking has now become an illegal global business that is common in the European region.And the two major forms of human trafficking are sex exploitation and forced labour.Women/girls are trafficked to other countries for sex exploitation (prostitution) while men/boys are trafficked to other countries for forced labour(slavery).Ways the government can fight human trafficking are as follow;
1.Creating job opportunities.
2.Holding seminars that enlighten the citizens about human trafficking.
3.Sponsorship of education for the less privileged

Homo Sapiens - we are generally speaking the only destructive and out of balance with the
natural world species on the planet.

Some of us have no qualms about exploiting our own in order to financially advance and
others have no qualms about using these exploited people for our own gains.

If this has continued to this extent unstoppable then the who is who in the countries are tied to the illicit trading of human beings and sex slaving otherwise what else can be good enough reason for it to keep growing in length and breadth of different countries. Government need to be responsible and not to behave as saint while they are not.

It will also interest you to know other over 3 million Africans out there are in forced labour and slavery and what is generated from these set of people can run up to the tune of 13 billion dollars. This is scary right. But that's the case. West Africa amongst others have been said to be the highest of those numbers experiencing high level of regular and irregular kind of trafficking. Which have also created a lucrative business to more traffickers in the business cycle.

We've also seen cases of those who try to migrate to the Europe through the Mediterranean Sea and many of these people are struck with hunger and will end up being killed in the process. Women and girls have recorded highest numbers of the abuses related to the trafficking. Such as sexual violence and other related abuses. It's unfortunate but that's the reality. It's even more annoying to say that these things are still prevalent till today although not as pronounced.

The human trafficking is one of the business that the drug Lords uses to clean their shits. Most especially women are used for drug trafficking and for sex slaves after they are done with their evil works. In recent time, the numbers of people that are being trafficked to Europe had increased especially from Africa and Asian countries. The government had been pondering and campaigning for the end but I don't think this would stop in the near future.

Human trafficking is a major issue that needs critical attention.  Of what use will it make if we keep complaining about the problem without seeking for ways to help? Yea help! each one of us can help in our little ways to reduce Human trafficking in our countries.

Those who engage in Human trafficking know their targets, they don't just go for just anybody. They go for innocent people who need help, in some cases they deceive them with hope of a better life if only the victims will agree to their terms. I have heard of cases where innocent people are given free visas to countries abroad to work and lift themselves and their families out of poverty, only to get stuck abroad on arrival because their sponsors lied to them.

These things are actually happening around us and we can actually help by showing a little act of love and care to people around us. That little help might save them from being lured by bad people. We all need to be very observant of the happenings in our society, report every suspicious activities to the right authorities.

Forced unpaid labor is a legal form of punishment under the US constitution.  it allows each state to do as they will with forced labor.  I believe  at least 7 states do this

Quote
https://news.uchicago.edu/story/us-prison-labor-programs-violate-fundamental-human-rights-new-report-finds

Key findings include:

Nearly two-thirds (65% percent) of incarcerated people report working behind bars—amounting to roughly 800,000 workers incarcerated in prisons.
More than three quarters of incarcerated people surveyed (76%) report facing punishment—such as solitary confinement, denial of sentence reductions, or loss of family visitation—if they decline to work.
Prison laborers are at the mercy of their employers. They have no control over their work assignments, are excluded from minimum wage and overtime protections, are unable to unionize, do not receive adequate training and equipment, and are denied workplace safety guarantees despite often dangerous working conditions.
As a result, 64% of incarcerated workers surveyed report worrying about their safety while working; 70% percent say they received no formal job training; and 70% percent report not being able to afford basic necessities like soap and phone calls with prison labor wages.
Incarcerated workers produce at least $2 billion in goods and $9 billion worth of prison maintenance services annually, but this number is not closely tracked and is likely much higher.
Yet, most states pay incarcerated workers pennies per hour for their work. Seven states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas) pay nothing for the vast majority of prison work.Other states pay on average between 15 and 52 cents per hour for non-industry jobs. Prison laborers often see up to 80% of their paycheck withheld for taxes, “room and board” expenses, and court costs.
More than 80% percent of prison laborers do general prison maintenance, which subsidizes the cost of our bloated prison system. Other tasks represent less than 10% percent of work assignments, including: public works projects (like road repair, natural disaster assistance, forestry work, and maintenance of parks, schools, and government offices); state prison industries, agricultural work, and coveted private company work assignments.

All of the above is legal under the US constitution.  So if you think they are criminals they deserve it at least 10% of the people in US prisons were wrongly convicted.  So this means 80-100 thousand people are being really mistreated.

Never mind another 50,000 that while guilty were over charged in the first place which resulted in no trial and plea deals so as to avoid a 10 year sentence for a minor non violent drug possession crime.

Human trafficking is everywhere and that can't be stopped. It's just so hard to think that it became an "industry" as per description of these publishing companies. It shouldn't be compared to any business and industry because it is immoral and totally wrong. But can we do something with it? Nothing. As they say, "money makes the world go round". And from these illegal doings, there are the people that are taking benefits out of these people that are being placed and sold in these dark markets.

Any of the service like sex exploitation, child labor which is still happening today and the other rampant illegal activities and trades are also there. It's just sad that while on some other sides of the world, there are the people that are struggling to make ends meet and they're forced to do this because they don't want to find an opportunity or opportunities are just totally limited on their areas.

Unfortunately, human trafficking is a widespread problem that exists all over the world. These traffickers prey on vulnerable people who are desperate for income and a better life, often promising them jobs or opportunities in other countries. Once they are trapped, they are subjected to various forms of exploitation such as forced labour, sexual exploitation or organ trafficking. Sometimes the headlines on news channels are who are actually involved in human trafficking? I have seen in the news media of the Asian continent that person who grew up under the umbrella of big political leaders are involved in these activities, but still many human trafficking organizations are out of reach.
No doubt we have too many rules and tough things but still every year we have millions of peoples involved in this all with recently we have too many lives also loses in these things but still nothing positive is happened and as mentioned It's not alone in Europe we have too many countries and regions which are involved with many highly reputable peoples are also part of this all and helping criminal gangs and organizations which are doing this all for the huge profit.
In last few years I also met few peoples those were going through with the help of few organizations as they were looking for the better life and have no enough opportunities into their countries so they go through and lost heir money with beloved relatives but nothing happen, and now they are working to stop this all which is looking difficult because everyone want to have better life with high dreams.

There are many sensitive things about this issue, but I must express that people's lack of moral behavior causes cruel people to recklessly use their fellow human beings as goods.

I remember when I was young, I only knew about the problem of kidnapping women and children to serve the purposes of those looking for adopted wives and children. But after learning about history, many wars have used people as slaves, including some issues of organ trafficking, research subjects,... many things that I think hell is played out in our own lives.

Greed, selfish ambition to control,... cause people to harm people, the dark corner of this society cannot end as long as it still exists.

Human trafficking exists everywhere not just in Europe, and the numbers may be a lot higher than the report says because no one really has accurate stats about underground business.

I agree especially in third world countries where illegal businesses are more abundant due to the lack of better opportunities and most of them would be undetected so just imagine how much people are actually getting exploited i know that some politicians or law enforcers sometimes are directly involved with these illegal activities which helps conceal the business

Without the help of politicians and government authorities nothing can happen but they allow it to happen because they were corrupted and take cut on every deals that is happening so they are getting more profits than the agent/dealer itself or else the politicians may shutdown the whole process.

Human trafficking is a massive issue because it violates human rights, exploits vulnerable individuals & fuels various criminal activities. It thrives due to factors like poverty, lack of education & weak law enforcement. To combat it a multi-faceted approach is needed. This includes raising awareness to prevent trafficking, strengthening legislation & law enforcement, providing support & protection to victims & addressing the root causes such as poverty & inequality. Collaboration between governments, international organisations & civil society is crucial for implementing comprehensive strategies to combat human trafficking & ensure justice for the victims.

the biggest economy of human trafficking is the legit kind
where agents of big business go to other countries to hire employee's but then exploit them once they arrive.
EG threaten losing their work visa's and threaten to call ICE if someone wants to resign/if they dont follow company policy

there are far more immigrants pushed into exploited working in legit businesses, than there are immigrants doing criminal enterprises

If you want to stop people from sex exploitation then the government has to take action like bringing food to the tables of the family who are starving so they won't be selling their children for some money and abduction is something to do with law and order of the country itself so the government is solely responsible for whatever happens.

I recall not long ago seeing some news about sexual exploitation and modern slavery rings being broken down in countries where one would never expect to see them.
In the United Kingdom there sadly a huge market for forced labor and in Spain there are criminal organizations which try to lure people from Colombia and Venezuela with promises of jobs, only to be imprisoned and forced into prostitution once arrive into Europe. To be honest, I believe the market for human trafficking most be the second biggest illegal market in Europe, only after the importation/trafficking of cocaine and other drugs.
I am not sure what are the measures which are supposed to be taken to avoid the growth of this illegal market in Europe, because I believe this influx of people into Europe will continue has long as there are corrupted politicians and authorities, specially in Spain, considered to be the entrance to Europe from Africa.
Asian also has a big demand for people to be sexually exploited, Japanese mafias and criminals turn desperate latina mothers into prostitutes. Not even know the size of that market, though.
