As far as I know, I think mining is not much profitable even to people with free electricity(so in a way better than having the hybrid system).
So would be best to not get in right now. Also the halving happens next year, so harder to earn.

What has mining to do with it? If your hybrid plan would be cheaper than regular power, people would
use it for the washing machine, tv set etc, basically all things that need electricity.

So, to determine the case in your country: Just look around you. If all your neighbours have solar panels on
their house, it seems reasonable and you should power your washing mashine, A/C, tv set and of course
your miners with hybrid energy. If not, then not Wink

I am interested in this subject. I feel like it can't cost too much money to build a solar powered farm.

Thanks. Yeah, with "hybrid" I mean wind/solar indeed.

 Cool

That is a good investment plan, but selling the excess electricity back to grid is better then using them to mine.

What do you mean by "hybrid"?

If you have a small mining operation (as in less than 10kW) and are looking at investing in solar/wind to offset your power costs I probably wouldn't do it. With current solar tech right now it'll take ~ 25 years to break even on the panel cost, at least here in Canada. Because of that, you'd probably be better off just paying $0.13/kWhr than investing into solar or wind power. Another option you have is looking at having your gear hosted at a datacenter. I'm not sure what kind of hosting rates you'd be looking at, or if there's a datacenter near you, but there's a possibility that you'd save a bit of money by having your miners hosted for you.

Hi guys.

I live in Brazil, and here the sun is like a laser about 12h a day -believe, it's hot as hell. The wind is also good, the average speed is about 10-20km/h constantly.

The usual energy comes from hydroeletric plants (like Itaipú Power Plant, 2nd largest in the world) but the cost now is about U$0.13/Kwh.

I know solar panels are expensive and are not cool for this purpose.

I'm thinking in a hybrid system, but before put everything on, I would like to know if someone else here already did this. Is it worth?

Thanks.
