I wonder if this is technically possible? Make a coin with one billion APR staking returns.
Perhaps it's technically possible but what for?

it's definitely going to end up being stupid because apparently your going to cause a high level of attention your projects, which could potentially lead to 51% attack because of it's high APR staking returns. infact generally the idea is going to face alot problems just as you said it's a financial suicide definitely because wtf ! inflation would be so rapid beyond control.

One billion? How is that even possible? Do they have a higer supply? Otherwise they wouldn't be able to deliver their rewards for long. There might be some clause to earn such a staking reward, it is better to stay away from such coins that will be the right decision for everyone.

Those ideas are absurd and I doubt if it would barely hold because with such high APR, there's going to be constant influx of tokens earned from staking rewards that would hit the market almost immediately leading to dilution. What's worse is if there isn't enough liquidity on the other side of the market for those reward tokens to be sold into, the dumps will be epic. This is why the concept of yield farming failed during the last bull run and so far, i haven't seen any good ideas that solves that problem not even OP's.

The higher the staking reward, the bigger the chance the coin will be forever worthless.
I mean, if you just create so many coins out of thin air (since now PoW), what on earth could ensure a tiny bot of value for it?
Am I missing something?

Possible but it will turn out into a scam.

I'm thinking of a Peercoin fork for example where the staking returns were just set to an absurdly high level. I understand that something would have to be done to not hit integer limits, maybe there could be multiple tokens internally where each level of tokens is one billion times the value of the previous level.
Everyone has an idea until they apply it to their projects and see the actual result of it. Most of the high APR projects will decrease when people patronize and actually stake on it. But with such high APRs, it's unreal.

In a country where staking income is taxed as capital gains before even selling, this would be instant financial suicide probably, if it held any value? Of course it would be problematic for exchanges as there can be only so many zeroes in their prices.
I guess that there won't be any demand with that because people nowadays are going to be aware of what are the high APR does.

bI haven't tried this technique to stake and neither the friend circle of traders around me tried this. It seems that it's not a good choice to stake like that and ultimately itll lead you to disappointments.

The word hyper itself is not good, anything that will be beyond limit will harm you in some way. So a balance is always useful and good for you and your assets both.
