In linux, just paste the new bin over the old one and it's done, I assume it's similar with other systems.

All these years you've been deleting everything every time you upgrade to a new version?

no I used coinbase and blockchain info for wallets and did not run a node.

I recently started running a node this summer and as I have 9 computers I ran two  9.? then 11.0 I just did them on 2 different computers

Do you build yourself? (git etc.)

Otherwise just install the latest binary the same way you installed 11.0.

I know the slow way  just delete and start from beginning. takes a long time. P.I.T.A.

I run a full node 24/7

I have been poking at my 11.0 and don't see an upgrade setting.

So do I do it all over again?

Or is there some kind of upgrade that I am missing.

#1 close bitcoin core
#2 install latest version
#3 continue with old wallet file, blockchain data and settings.
