Thank you for you very fast response!  Much appreciated.

I'm synchronizing Bitcoin Core now, and it looks light it might take a day or two at this rate. I'll update when I get Armory running.

Download and install Bitcoin Core. Run Bitcoin Core and let it sync. Once it has fully synced, then start Armory. It will do its own syncing off of Core and that should be it. Make sure you use the latest version of Armory, 0.96. If you run into issues, I suggest that you upgrade to our 0.96.1 testing version which has some bug fixes on top of 0.96.

Old newbie here.  I've been buying and selling through Coinbase for a few months, and yesterday my son told me about Bitcoin Armory and how I shouldn't keep BTC and ETH on Coinbase for security reasons, etc., so of course I immediately downloaded Armory, fired it up and sent about a thousand bucks worth of BTC from Coinbase to my new wallet.  In about an hour Coinbase had enough confirmations to do the transaction, and of course nothing showed up because this particular dumbass hadn't read about the need to have Bitcoin Core running.

So I have a paper back up, but I have no idea WTF to do to get a wallet set up with Armory.  I don't imagine I've lost the BTC, but I'd like to have control over it.

Pleas show mercy on this dumbass and throw me a life preserver.  Or at least an Altoid.

Thanks!
