Very nice painting i hope you will enjoy it!About the price i dont know if it is expensive or not but i believe that the art have no price and is simpler if you like it, you buy it thats all!  Smiley

Kind Regards,
BTC-Bank

This is very true and to the point,

To me this art is nice but i would not be willing to pay over a few hundred dollars for it i know i know i am cheap lol but seriously if i found a painting i liked and brought it for 20bitcoins then your opinion could possibly be the same, you would not pay nowhere near what i did because you taste is different to mine.

The price is in the eye of the beholder what is cheap for one is expensive for another but the only thing that really matters is the art finds someone who really likes it, the price is just our way of measuring things and it is wrong in many ways.

You obviously like it so nice buy op ENJOY Wink

The painting is awesome but I want to say that there are people in my country who don't even make that amount of money in a year!
You must have a lot of disposable income...good for you! Cool

I know less than zero about art so I have no idea whether this was a waste of BTC or the deal of the century.

That having been said, looking at it made my art challenged eyes smile!

Congrats.  Hope you enjoy it for a log time and then sell it for >20BTC

really cool paiting, not sure if it is worth so many bitcoin, but it look great indeed

Lets say his 6 months work was 200 - 300 hours, $15 - $20 an hour equals a really good deal for the buyer, the fact that he likes the painting even more so. Have to add it is a good skill and that 15 - 20 dollars an hour basically gave it to op.

I like it i would not have brought that one but if i really liked it and had to have it that would be a very reasonable price indeed, good buy  Cool

"Curiosity made the cat self-aware" This naming of the painting prompted me to look carefully at your painting and still I wasn't able to distinguish the cat outline at all had you not provided the accessory picture with the cat on top for reference  Wink Congratulations on the purchase.

It is hard to see, and the fact that I saw it w/o it being mentioned made me like it even more. It's definitely an abstract piece. And thanks!

Am I the only one who doesn't really like the painting? Cheesy

I mean, I sort of like the "cat"; but shapes, colors, the transitions towards the middle - not so much (though it looks a bit better in a smaller scale, like above). Looking at his other paintings, I can't say my opinion changes.  Smiley

Definitely a nice painting and also a nice story. It's always nice to hear that another person starts accepting bitcoin, especially when it's for real word purchases. OP should give us some tips on how to convince people.

Convincing people to accept bitcoin is easy. Convincing them to hold it is not as easy. I never try and convince people to hold bitcoin, rather I suggest they buy a small amount that they are comfortable with, and then begin to research more. I believe you need to own a little to be excited enough to really figure out exactly what it is. I was familiar with bitcoin in 2011, but I never bought (it was difficult then) In 2012 I made a small purchase via wire transfer, and once I owned a little, and began transacting, I was hooked on the concept.

It was the artists first time accepting bitcoin, and he has plans to hold onto most of it.

I shared on reddit, and wanted to share with you fine people as well :-)

The artist is Ricky Allman. He was working simultaneously on these three paintings when we met, and I had to have one of them. These took six months to complete.

Here’s an interview juxtapoz did on Ricky. Very interesting.

The other two that are still available haven't left his studio yet. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get you in touch with Ricky! I'm very happy with my investment.

This has to be one of the coolest paintings I've seen.  Very nice!  I think it's worth every bit of that 20 BTC.
