I have no idea what all this programmer stuff is about. I would hope this is not part of getting Armory and Bitcoin Core to jive.
Armory is excellent, but not a great pick for newbies especially given that the steps here aren't "programming" Smiley .
If you haven't sent coins to your Armory wallet yet, you'll probably want to try a different wallet. Electrum is pretty easy to get going with.
If you have sent coins to an Armory address, start your own thread and explain the problems you're having there. You'll most likely be asked for Armory logs (log files) so that devs or others here can identify the problem. Posting the full version number of Armory and Bitcoin Core you are using also helps a lot too.

As for your specific questions, 64bit/32bit shouldn't make a difference, but I can't say I've ever tested that. There is no reason not to use the 64bit versions of both if you have a 64bit PC & OS. Bitcoin Core will take a long while to sync and require ~155GB of storage space (and growing). Armory isn't going to do much for you until that is complete.
Again, start a thread of your own if you still need help and/or have coins to recover.

thanks, that has fixed it.

just a note for any other laymen out there;
when searching for,
C:\\Users\\martin\\AppData\\Roaming\\Armory\\databases
i had to tick the hidden items check box in the view tab / option, in order to see the AppData folder.

1) Start BitcoinQt manually and let it sync.

2) Make sure no instance of ArmoryDB.exe is running

3) Delete the content of this folder:

C:\\Users\\martin\\AppData\\Roaming\\Armory\\databases

4) With BitcoinQt still running, start Armory.

hi there

So, i am using 0.96.3 and i have the latest download of bitcoincore. my blocks are in default location, i let the system install it as normal.
Armory still seems unable to locate the blocks?

i have tried a rebuild and re scan, in the factory reset, this doesn't do anything, it says it will rebuild on next restart.
then, when restarting armory, and error pops up, ' 'C:\Program Files (86)\ArmoryQt.exe.log' for details.
closing the error message and then trying again brings up armory? do i need to wait , maybe a day, before opening armory after selecting a rebuild, i presume there would be some indication if a rebuild was happening?

when i open bitcoincore while armory is running, it says bitcoincore is probably already running. i presume this is because armory is using the correct directory?
i have tried putting in the correct directory manually in armory settings, this makes no difference.

i had armory running fine before with the older version 0.93 (i think).

i have heard talk of bitcoin qt or otm, maybe or other versions, could this be the problem? i was using bitcoin -QT. then, after updating bitcoin core it rewound the blocks into OMT or whatever the new version is...

sorry i am not programming minded, and i have basic computer skills.
any help would be much appreciated.

i am on windows 10

C:\Program Files (86)\ArmoryQt.exe.log
is as follows...
