I feel most people only play with a % of their coins, its not worth the nerves.  Statistics thus far show that holding is a great strategy.

I bought in at $448 on the dip a week ago.

Sold some at $630 because I thought it was topping out.

Sold more at $730 because I thought it was topping out.

I am now buying less coins than I had originally and cold storing them in safe locations and trading zero for a year.

Someone please tell me this is a good idea so I can get back to my normal life!!! I'm tired of looking at charts!

Exactly a year ago I put all my bitcoins on paper wallet and hide the wallets far away from where I live just to protect myself from my own stupidity. You're doing the right thing. I lost 130 bitcoins in satoshi dice and bought a Butterfly Labs ASIC for 140 bitcoins, so in that sense I lost quite a lot and putting the remaining coins away was pretty smart decision Cheesy

Thank you, that is a crazy story. So glad to be on the hodl team now

yep, we all know how this feels.... cold storage is protecting your coins not only from thieves but from yourself. i was on the brink of getting my cold storage in the december correction, but fortunately it is far too complicated to access those, so - thank god - i did not touch them. i had 20% of my stash to play around with during december and bought back with a loss recently.

Hey we've all been there, some just learn faster than others. Wink Don't let the experienced traders and desperate bears on this forum fool you, they want you to sell so they can make a profit. If you think you can beat them at their own game, sure go ahead and try to sell high and buy low. But most of you will get played by them in the end. If you don't want that, buy and hold is the right thing for you. Everyone who has done their research knows that bitcoin is not even near its top yet. There is a significant amount of risk involved, but the upside risk still far outweighs the downside risk at this point. It's only time to sell (some) when the mass media and 'famous' economists start to recommend people to buy bitcoins, and we're still very far away from that.

Correct.

Smart thinking.

You can still enjoy watching the charts though. It's very entertaining.

It also helps you to add additional coins during dips like we had in June or December.

If ever you have doubts about holding (sorry, I don't like childish memes) just look at the all-time log chart. It's very reassuring.
