Though, it would be worth it not to ignore the moral compas of people like OP and people who only listens to money and judge whether a government is good or not only based on salaries, inflation and in the money they are getting at the of the month.
People cannot just ignore the moral compass of the government they are under and get money from it, without questioning the origin of that money or the way the the government itself is working.
Let us take a look at Nazi Germany for example, during the ruling of Adolf Hitler, it was possible for Germany to see an economical miracle, so much abundance and low inflation (compared to the Weimar Republic) that they left Hitler unquestioned and gave him a blank check on whatever was okey and not okey to do, then it came the political and religious prosecution which led to the Holocaust.
It does not matter how much a government seems to be doing in the eyes of the people living in the country, one is always supposed to question and check of the decisions being taken by those in power, when when times are good and economy is rising. Actually, not questioning authority was one of the biggest mistakes committed by us Venezuelans.
