Ethereum does nothing but provoke me this days most especially when it comes to transactions fees, I made up my mind to quit transacting on the Ethereum blockchain since I lost about one hundred and fifty dollars in two transactions which I made in a day, I was so angry that day because after spending that much on fees, I still couldn't buy the tokens I wanted to buy cus the two transactions failed even after they've collect my fees, it wasn't a pleasant day for me the day that happened, since then, I've been avoiding trading on erc20 tokens or any transaction that will have me paying fees in Ethereum.
Well, while there are indeed problems with the gas level in transactions in the ethereum network, it may be necessary to limit their number until July, especially for small transactions. Although some note that such problems occur periodically and sometimes the gas level returns to normal. For now, I try not to make transactions on the ethereum network unnecessarily. We hope that this is a temporary problem and that from July this problem will be resolved due to the systematic implementation of Ethereum 2.0 improvements.

i think low gas on your wallet cause all this. its better not to initiate a transaction than have it fail and then start afresh. it usually cause high gas fee on subsequent transaction. i use token pockets very well and its been good, except if there is congestion, that high gwei should confirm at most 1 min.

Is your transaction got any confirmation already? the gwei you paid is high already but I've never experienced a long delay when I pay a high gwei.
But we should brace ourselves for the upcoming months, this slow and expensive fee will be solved by the EIP 1559.
Ethereum’s ‘EIP 1559’ Fee Market Overhaul Greenlit for July

Right now, I think most eth users should bear this high gas fee cost.
But I believe, Buterin's team is not sleeping on this problem.
Just a lil bit more patience, and hopefully, it will be addressed soon.
If not, there are already promising platforms to look forward to.
We had no choice but to bear and get used to it until the solution arrives. It's been so long before they had come up with the solution and they should've done it or give words when it has first started to come out.
It has been addressed already and they're aware that most of the ETH users are going through with the high gwei. And it has been mentioned that the upcoming EIP will come to reduce the fee and solve it.

All of Ethereum's problems and slow transactions and expensive fees are a direct consequence of the huge popularity of the network.
Ethereum is a very powerful coin with huge potential, which still has many great ideas and solutions in its stock. So far, for them, the benefits of the network outweigh all the cons. A huge advantage in the growth of ETH is played by the active development of DeFi and the expectation of an upgrade to Ethereum 2.0.

The network capabilities are currently not enough to serve dApps, and because of this, Ethereum risks losing its leadership position, plus a lot of competitors. Lips sealed

We know that GAS continues to change every time it's adjusted based on the use of transactions every day, indeed the current GAS provisions are somewhat fantastic, but all of this is to minimize fake projects too. My advice is to just cancel the initial transaction, and adjust it to the updated GAS price.

Congestion in the network maybe? It depends on the wallet you are using too, if using trust wallet you can't send eth or tokens with anything less than the highest gwei fee, it's automated to avoid delays or transaction hanging in the network

I assumed the gas was taken out of the wallet when I send it automatically like how it happens with Bitcoin. Learned something new today and happily got my money.
Isn't that supposed to be the case? Not sure how you solve it by it looks like you made a self-transaction to replace your pending TX and then made a swap with more fees.

I assume your first swap failed because either you set a very low slippage, too many decimals, etc. It's not uncommon tbh, I got this kind of problem a few times with various assets, maybe we'll never see it in the future when Solidity or those smart contracts get updated.

Thanks guys. It was the lack of gas in my wallet. That was a nightmare of an experience, because I was rushing to get rid of my Polymath before it tanks. I suppose it could moon, but yeah. I calmed the fuck down and was able to think more clearly. I assumed the gas was taken out of the wallet when I send it automatically like how it happens with Bitcoin. Happy to hear so. You should set appropriate Gas price but the Gas Limit need to be high when you join Swap. Smart contracts for Swap usually require high Gas Limit. Not all Gas Limit you set up will be used so you won't lose more than what will be paid if you set a high Gas Limit. If you set it up too low, your transaction might be failed.

I tried to check your wallet address which is this 0x28a5a5b2a5583ede598248a233ae55aff63fbf33 and according to your transaction, you need to pay this "0.03070704 Ether ($48.59)" with 152 Gwei so it means the transaction you made is invalid.

Why not try to add more ethereum in your wallet to pay enough fees of around 0.03 your wallet only has around 0.009 ether is if you are going to pay 152 gwei then you should pay around 0.03 based on what I understand from your first TXID.

I am using Metamask.
Then this problem has nothing to do with the gas, I believe it the Ethereum network congestion because it seems like the transaction was not available in the mempool. Restart your metamask, cancel the transaction and create another transaction that should fix the problem.

I have a swap that says "failed". Not sure how to check any lower Nonces. I don't think there are any, because it would alert me right?
I found it the "nonce Position 13 Pending" that means you have nonce position #12 still pending or replaced it should be confirm first before the latest txt can proceed. this transaction is the main reason why its pending., https://etherscan.io/tx/0x9540788afdd8e02e8ea055825d4b0a0dfa3db6a7b80ad1d2ee7f2ce0f2cda504

I am using Metamask.
I am guessing your problem for failed transaction is from your low Gas limit.

OP Do you have any pending transactions with low gas fees prior to the last transaction that uses that 152 gwei? You should look at the nonce if theres in queue not yet confirmed it should be confirmed first before the latest one with high gas,

Although you dont provide the transaction ID so we can deep into it, the information provided by the transaction price estimator you used is not up to date but according to what I have here 151 Gwei is enough to make your transaction confirm in 15secs but when there's network congestion a lot of things can happen.
I will advise you to use Metamask next time cause it usually auto-dates with the best transaction fee.

Edit : Got the tx ID.

Maybe I messed something up. Here is the transaction:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0x91faaf0bf6a308295a69686fcd0d248854838d32cc4853415a4b10d9ae3160d5

I went to compound.finance then I clicked on ether in supply. I clicked withdraw. Then I clicked max. Then I clicked withdraw. I set the gas to 152 and it has been stuck for over an hour.

I have a transaction pending with 152 Gwei. Wtf. Instant transaction my ass.
It should be confirmed soon as your Gwei is high: 152.

According to [1], there are not many unconfirmed transactions with 150+ Gwei : less than 150 tx. About 10 to 15 transactions per second on the Ethereum network. [2]
Another ETH Gas price forecast system provides 137 Gwei for less than 15 seconds of waiting [3]

I have a transaction pending with 152 Gwei. Wtf. Instant transaction my ass. I put a higher amount than ASAP on https://ethgasstation.info/ and more than high on Etherscan. I don't understand why my transaction isn't going through.

I had to cancel my first transaction, because it wasn't going through fast enough, but didn't have enough gas so I couldn't cancel it. Grabbed my Ethereum from Compound because I needed to get gas. Couldn't get that because the first transaction wasn't going through. First transaction eventually failed on its own. Now I'm withdrawing from Compound at 152 Gwei which is slightly more than the fastest transactions on all the sites. On Etherscan it says Estimated Confirmation Duration: < 45 secs, but has already been 30+ minutes. What am I doing wrong? Please help me. This is a time sensitive issue.
