Even in standard financial world it's rare that somebody beats the market every year.

Don't beat yourself over.

My biggest mistake was holding onto Litecoin too long after Segwit activation, and letting my investment stagnate while the rest of the crypto market rocketed upwards.
this is a big problem that all of us have when investing in altcoins. it is hard sometimes to let go of an altcoin which you are expecting to go to the moon, specially when there is a lot of hype surrounding it.
I still hold some LTC though Wink
but it is best to always sell as soon as top was hit and get out. if it continued rising get back in an enjoy the rise if not you are out and have the money to invest in something better.

When I first heard of Ethereum it was $12, now it is at $360. If I had invested just $2,000 I would be looking at $60,000 now within just 3 months.
when I first heard of (some coin that I forgot the name already) a couple of days ago it was worth 5 satoshis and then in a couple of days it reached 250 satoshi. if I had invested $2,000 I would be looking at $100,000. and only gained in a couple of days with a small risk.

instead of moping over something that is already in a bubble, start getting your money out and look for others who have not yet been pumped.
Hodling unto LTC, eh? I feel for you and commend your resilience. With everything getting pumped to the moon, it takes something exceptional to just stand and watch the rockets disappear into the stratosphere

Don't worry Smiley I'ts impossible to guess what will be the bottom and the top, so it's impossible to always do the best investment. You did some profits and it's the most important part.

I am a bit like you, I didn't follow the good coins, but I'm still happy of what I got.

We can't predict what will happen in the future, but if we get a correction, the market will become lower again so we will able to do some good % again. I don't think checking the whole alt coin market cap is a good idea, but there will always have a few good coins that will do a x10.

Don't beat you about that, this is when we regret than we do bad choices.

We're still early adopters stage here. It will be a bumpy ride, but some of these coins will appreciate incredibly over the next 5-10 years.

Don't feel bad.. i watched it all and did nothing at all.
I'll go login to the Exchange right now and see what i got Wink
Well.. i got $100 worth of BTC right now.
So i didn't have much to work with.

I quit trading a long LONG time ago because i got sick of being forced to trade scammy worthless garbage.

If you don't follow the crowd it gets WAY harder to profit.
And the selection of what is out has been complete crap for ages.
Such as ..any ICO.

I have integrity.
I am not interested in getting profit from bullshit.

It's just a warmup right now. You still have lots of chances to do well.

It's not going to start multiplying again lol.

We're probably at or near peak right now.

Most people I know have been liquidating their LTC position in favor of ETH.

Infact ETH is sucking everything up right now even it's own tokens from projects built on top of it.

If you bought ETH and just held and spent nothing on tokens or ICOs you would be quids in right now. 20x gains. That's probably the way of the future too.

ETH is taking over.

ps. Most people fail to pick winners, that is why buy and hold ETH is a good option for many, as it serves as an index like the FTSE or NASDAQ.

Where did you get 65 Billion? Is it only top ten? Coinmarketcap got it over 100 billion.

65 billion if you exclude Bitcoin. Second graph on this page.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of ETH regret from some people.

You shouldnt beat yourself. If you look solely the market growth then it seems spectacular but what you forget is that not a lot of people beat the market actually.
The market will grow to trillions, it only started, but it will take it a much longer time period.

The last 3 months were absolutely incredible for altcoins, but I feel that I missed out for the most part. Sure, I've made some profit since March, but when you look at how much the altcoin market grew, from $4 billion in March to $65 billion today, my profits were way below that proportion. My biggest mistake was holding onto Litecoin too long after Segwit activation, and letting my investment stagnate while the rest of the crypto market rocketed upwards. Huge, huge opportunity cost in hindsight.

I guess I also should've diversified.

The way I see it is that I'm sure the crypto market will continue to grow, but percentagewise, it won't be the same. Going from $65B to, say, $200B is much less of a boom percentagewise than going from 4 to 65. In other words, I don't know if the altcoin market will ever grow 1500% in 3 months ever again.

Is my thinking too pessimistic? Am I beating myself up too much?
