Sad that they are not accepting bitcoin right now, but there are good options for business owners to easily accept bitcoin payment. Do you have more information on the restaurant and where it is located? Also do you know if they will really accept bitcoin in the future?

It's Christmas and I'm back in my hometown to spend the holidays with my family and friends. Today we decided to have lunch at a local restaurant. I was shocked to see the interior walls of the restaurant decorated with Bitcoin stickers, banners and bitcoin wallet ads. I didn't expect to find this in a small town, I was excited to show my friends how practical Bitcoin is. We placed our orders and when the bill came I asked if I could pay in bitcoin. The waiter stared at me with a blank face as if nothing I said made sense. Clearly this guys do not accept Bitcoin payment. I was furious...no disappointed...I quietly asked to see his manager, the lady came to see what the problem. I asked her why they wouldn't accept Bitcoin payments but have the walls decorated with bitcoin stickers, banners and crypto wallet  ads. She explained they have some sort of franchise deal and get paid for keeping the ads on the wall but they don't really know how Bitcoin works or how it can positively impact their business. I could sense she wanted to learn what I knew, but it wasn't the time and place for a Bitcoin lecture. Instead, I invited her for Christmas dinner and promised to teach her Bitcoin.
Merry Christmas everyone
I understand you perfectly, but it's also true that it looks more like an advertisement for the platform than an advertisement for bitcoin! among other things, any commercial activity should display at the entrance or at the checkout that they accept payments in bitcoins. let's just say it's quite misleading. in any case, I believe that soon they will be everywhere, restaurants or businesses that accept payments in bitcoin

Merry Christmas and Happy New year

This restaurant doesn't accept Bitcoin but it seems to be a good place where you can advertise a big lie. I think you did well to ask if they accepted the payment and you were really great when you invited the manager to dinner to talk about the protocol, when he comes you have to explain to him how important adoption is especially in your country.
You are not there to know if what the Op is saying it truth concerning the restaurant that accept Bitcoin for payment so it might be true because right now many people love cryptocurrency and they since they love cryptocurrency then 12 serve their money in Bitcoin so that it will be easier for them to do any other online trading or online transaction with bitcoin so don't dispute the fact that the Opie is lying because nobody knows if it is true or not

It is something very nice to find some type of establishment that can be paid with bitcoin, I have found very few places that have that option, generally in some restaurants in Ecuador you can find that easy payment.

In developed countries it is more common to find them, in the Netherlands I saw that some establishments were very large and that they had bitcoin as many payment options and I thought it was something sensational, and if these countries that are so good at everything support this type of payment it is because things are going very well, and that is beneficial for everyone in the world, because those of us who have some bitcoin will be beneficial.

Interesting enough that they have decorations of BTC on their restaurant but they do not understand nor accept it as an alternative method. But in all honesty, this kind of movement is definitely worth it for the establishment to gain attraction from its community. Even if they do not accept BTC as payment, the fact still remains that they do recognize and know the existence of BTC, which is definitely more than a thousand of words worth it.

Though that may be the case, inviting someone for dinner is definitely questionable as there are other options that can be exercised (e.g. coffee, lunch, etc.).

Cryptocurrency in the past got spread only through the word of mouth. Nowadays different firms trying to make business out of cryptocurrency make different promotions. These promotions give more visibility to cryptocurrency, but the real learning is a must to use it good. Restaurant in Nigeria promoting cryptocurrency without cryptocurrency acceptance is a positive move and the owner of the restaurant getting interested to learn is a great outcome.

Nah, that title was a clickbait since there's no single Bitcoin transaction happening on that restaurant. It's not bad to advertise Bitcoin, however, the owner or that lady doesn't have any knowledge about of what they were advertising. I thought they were just like in any other places where they totally accept Bitcoin as a payment.

As what I've read from the replies above, those people might be in trouble if they continue to trust those unreliable advert or those people trying to lure most people to invest in them. It's a common strategy to recruit a potential investors but fed with wrong information that would end up in a scam scheme.

Quoting so everyone can see the image.

The best you can do is help her use bitcoin.
You can help her set a wallet for free. Maybe in time you can even receive some money by setting a btc payment method for them.
At this point I will say that you can only help someone setting up a free wallet when the person is interested over cryptocurrency because for someone who is not interested over cryptocurrency when trying to give it a lecture of cryptocurrency by forcing the person it will find it very difficult to understand but when the person have interest over cryptocurrency it will faster the learning and also understand it very faster than the one that does not have interest

For the ad banner I was not so surprised.
Currently there are many sponsors related to cryptocurrencies. But at my place, I only see it a lot on social media.
On the streets sponsored billboards about cryptocurrencies can even be counted on the fingers.

But this time there was a sponsor in the restaurant with a big banner, but the manager didn't know what they put up with? How could it be like that?
I'm actually curious about the manager, how come he doesn't know what sponsors are installed in the restaurant where she works.

The decision to sponsor a restaurant naturally involves the restaurant owner and the manager himself.
If the restaurant owner decided to put up the sponsorship how could he not explain it to his manager?
I wonder how it goes after the OP teaches about the crypto world and if the restaurant will reconsider accepting bitcoin payments?.

Next you have to be very mindful on how you discusses about bitcoin or asked question whether they accepts or not more especially in the village, you know people in the village always thinks that anyone who deals on bitcoin is madly Rich and Wealthy otherwise you could get kidnapped. It all depends on the area you found yourself if is that secure for you to discuss bitcoin related talks. For about the manager, i would have suggested you just have her contact maybe whenever she's less busy or during Sunday's you could equally visit her to explain more things to her and how it works.
Dealing with Bitcoin is not a big deal compared to the hype people who purchased bitcoin are receiving by the uninformed individuals. Discussing about Bitcoin openly is not advisable because the level of fraudulent activities these days is increasing rapidly in numbers and these fraudsters might target one as their prey. I'm a passive trader in the market and I understand what it feels like to lose crypto assets. Always been discreet would help alot of people from the poor state they are and place them weigh higher than their position.

Why would you invite a restaurant owner for Christmas dinner?
I get this may be strange to you understanding there is a cultural difference between us, my community is tightly knit. Everybody knows everybody or someone related to your family, that's one of the beauty of coming home for the holidays. It's Christmas and I wanted to be nice. I will be here after the 25th so you're not worried I was stabbed to death by a stranger.
glad to hear that your community is tightly knit and i'm sure the idea of the restaurant owner comes from a concept sparked by your community.  but does your government not ban it (bitcoin advertised easily), from what i heard, several countries on the African continent have governments that strictly prohibit bitcoin and crypto ecosystems in their countries.  i hope your community grows bigger and your brotherhood to each other gets closer.

The Nigeria has been always good suppoter of bitcoin with so many users into it which is good to see but you should teach the lady all the basics about btc and how it operates so if she wants it can be implemented as payment mode also in the restaurant by her as many like you will be willing to pay in it.

Although if she agrees you can also have a small demo class for the workers to explain it about how they can use it in the future and setup their wallet or use third party softwares for accepting these payments. But I am happy that you want to spread awareness about btc and your community has tight bond with each other.Merry Christmas to you man.

You have started a task and the goal must be achieved, which is spreading in awareness of bitcoin for quick adoption, you should follow her up in other for her to have the knowledge of bitcoin properly. Since the restaurant is benefiting of the ponzi scheme of that company,if the manager understands bitcoin and see the benefit, I believe she might convince the owner of the restaurant to start accepting bitcoin payment.

The manager can still pass the knowledge of bitcoin on the workers if the restaurant, for easy understanding in terms of relating it with customers who in the nearest future might want to pay in bitcoin. OP keep it up but don't get carried away with her beauty . Grin

Oh wow, people love to have high expectations and easy to make a conclusion according to their wishes. Like what happens in this restaurant that only advertises crypto wallets, but the OP says Bitcoin restaurant. Perhaps the OP is very enthusiastic about Bitcoin or just wants to make a clickbait. I don't know. Because the ads look like they have been there for a long time, and the restaurant is in the OP neighborhood.

In some places, things like this are rare to occur and this might be a step forward for some bitcoin enthusiasts there but just a normal occurrence in our place. Despite it being just a mere exchange advertisement, it is probably their way to make bitcoins known in their place with the help of this advertisement. I think it is also the same case when we were in our early stage of having bitcoins in our country, our local exchanges advertise a lot and that became one of the sources of promoting bitcoins in our country until it became widely known and until our payment apps adopt the crypto payment as well in their apps.

Christmas has already passed. What happened to the dinner? It went well? Did you really teach her how to use Bitcoin? I think the stickers and decorations about bitcoin on the walls are from the local exchange or wallet since they are getting paid to put it there as an advertisement, but I am very shocked that they don't know how to transact it. Didn't they get curious about it? Will they try using it? I think they just really want to get paid for the advertisement and don't care what it is.

on the wall of the restaurant there is a sticker with a picture of bitcoin, that's good. because it's rare for a restaurant to have a bitcoin sticker or banner on its wall. which certainly looks very unique and good. With bitcoin stickers and banners in a restaurant, it means that people are starting to get to know bitcoin a lot. If you invite that person over for dinner and are taught about bitcoin by you that is a great thing.

I am not surprised seeing as restaurant liter its walls with bitcoin ads but do not accept bitcoin payment, i like the fact that the restaurant manager was sincere, from what i am seeing in the pic shared by the op, those ads are indeed paid for by the company that owns that brand, Op should have seen and known this, the ad banners are owned by a crypto currency business that bought the walls of that restaurant to advertise their business to the customers going in and out of that building.

I've come in contact with vehicle and tricycle owners who have bitcoin ad banners placed in every corner of their vehicle but still, know nothing about bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

It seems that there are many advertisements for Bitcoin, but few people know how to use it. I don't know what the purpose of the advertisement side is, but it is always positive. The purpose is to let everyone get used to the existence of Bitcoin as much as possible, get used to accepting Bitcoin, and finally use it together.

I am disappointed that OP didn't take his time to educate the restaurant manager, as they are advertising something about cryptocurrency and don't know about bitcoin. I would like to hear how the dinner and bitcoin class goes from OP on another topic or expect a brief reply here.
Happy holidays to OP, and good luck with bitcoin preaching.
Same here, OP didn’t say he say a “bitcoin accepted here” sign on the door, he only mentioned crypto ads on the walls. We are watching and expecting a continuation to this thread about how dinner ended. I hope it had a happy ending lol  it will be better if OP completes his story on this thread instead of creating a new one explaining the whole dinner/class.

Aside from that, I am quite confused that a restaurant accepts ads of cryptocurrency but they don't know about cryptocurrency.

You do not need to be surprised, it is all business deal, besides it isn't the owner who is dumbfounded but the service staff.  Service staff has no say about the deals of the owner and is not a big deal if they don't know about the story behind the wall decor/ads as long as they do their assigned task and serve well.

Actually, his plan to teach the manager is good enough, at least that she knows something about cryptocurrency and will tell her boss about it... Because it is quite strange that using the decoration about crypto but don't even accept crypto.

I don't find it strange, they don't have a sign Bitcoin accepted here, did you see any?  If they do have sign and the establishment does not accept Bitcoin or worst doesn't know it, then that is what we can call strange.

I think why the franchise that set the banner there doesn't even explain the restaurant about cryptocurrency and teach them so that the ads will be implemented at first in the restaurant.

It is possible that they are into negotiation, who knows, since the ads company is a cryptocurrency wallet company (stated on the earlier reply) I believe they approached the establishment and offers their service.

Anyhow this Christmas is going to be a special one for the Hotel owner as she's gonna learn something new. In specific knowing and learning about bitcoin is really important for the fast moving world that is much connected to the technology. It is good that more advertisements were giving visibility to the existence of bitcoin even in the rural areas of the country.

Yes, if we look on the positive side, OP is spreading bitcoins to everyone, and this time a restaurant owner. And if after she's been taught about bitcoin and really loves it, it's inevitable that her restaurant will accept bitcoin. They don't accept bitcoin yet because they don't know about it yet not they ban and that should be easier to change.
I am very happy to see that this is also a way to promote Bitcoin which is one of the safest cryptocurrencies we have on the market. Advocating about Bitcoin should be our paramount so that those who did not have complete idea about Bitcoin can know what is all about and how the network works.
This is one of the thing I love seeing and we should keep telling people about Bitcoin so that more people will come and adopt the use of Bitcoin in businesses to boost the network. If we continue advocating about Bitcoin in different pattern, this rate at which people join the network will be massive.

It is a bit weird to decorate everything with Bitcoin vibes but not accept Bitcoin as payment and not train the staff to at least know what Bitcoin payments are.
Inviting a person for Christmas dinner is nice, I think the traditions of who you invite can differ a lot within different cultures, and I think it was a nice gesture on the part of the op. It didn't strike me as weird, and I'm not surprised by op's answer to it. To be honest, I don't get why many in the thread seem so worked-up about a simple act of hospitality.

I am more interested to know whether things are doing well with the business itself with regards to the market price of Bitcoin. Many businesses have made the same thing but also, many of those establishements eventually did not sustain the market behavior in this industry which forced to do so, I guess. It would seem like themoney circulating on a business would be instant turned into another investment. If we are on the bullish market ofcourse it would be full of advantages but since we're not, I guess that is where problems might occur in terms of general sustainability of the business. If owners would be pushed not to spend the payments (in crypto) because of low market price, then isn't it a bad idea to do so especually at the present. We would amire the initiative to do so but not all businesses are just ain't ready for this industry yet when it comes on a 100% adoption.
I think the price of BTC can greatly influence on how the demand/traffic of BTC on that business goes. In times like this where BTC value is dumping, I think some people don't care about their BTC, in a way that they spend it often but if its the opposite or when the value of BTC is pumping hard then I think many people will value it more and limit their purchase using their BTCs. Yet this won't affect the business as a whole, as long as that business still accepts other forms of payment methods.

If there is a business relating to crypto who are badly affected right now then that would be the crypto exchange because there will be less people who are making a transaction right now.

Many people only hear bitcoin but they don't know how bitcoin works to be able to get the goods we want, even though some countries already use bitcoin as legal tender but as a society it is still difficult to use and get the bitcoin, I think you have to teach the owner of the restaurant so that all the stickers they use are very useful and can get more profit  great at making payments at their restaurants.
The OP ought to have educate, enlighten the owner, waiter and waitress on how to transact with Bitcoin right there in their shop, personally I wouldn't buy the idea of inviting the owner to the owner home to so, meanwhile it won't take much time teaching and explaining how to transact to the shop manager, waiters and others who are very much interested learning it with aid of a mobile phone, I had personally and successful done this with few of colluegues in my of work, friends and some of students who now very conversant with how to use Bitcoin, I recently showed one of my student on how to transact using P2P via Binance, I believe there will be a gradual adoption of Bitcoin with this methods.

I'm not so surprised to see something like this, not 1 or 2 times, in fact there are already many restaurants and inns that use Bitcoin payments or use crypto currency themes in their rooms, it doesn't look like there is a problem, but they will be overshadowed by tax collection  which is quite large from their government of course, this is a problem for entrepreneurs who use Bitcoin, of course the government does not care about the current bitcoin price, they know that the price of bitcoin is much more expensive than using Fiat currency, even though everyone pays more using currency  Fiat money instead of Bitcoin, because not everyone owns Bitcoin and only a few percent of the world's population own it, the rest prefer to hold Fiat currency.

I'll start with the bad stuff first. Everyone here immediately clicked on the link provided by OP at the beginning of this topic? I decided to check first and this is what I found.

It's funny that most visitors see the name Bitcoin on the scenery, but think that it's just a picture and learn nothing about the technology itself. It’s even funnier that the manager of the establishment doesn’t know anything about this either (we hope that OP will fix this). In this case, one can't speak of any mass adoption.

The pictures indicate some links that are hidden behind the heads of visitors. What is written on them? I have a feeling that someone is promoting their sites (on about crypto topics) in this way and which have little in common with bitcoin (or speculating on this). That's why this franchise requires the installation of such scenery.

The conclusion is that Bitcoin is not yet known by many people, especially a manager and waiter who works in a restaurant near OP's house.
It's only natural that he makes a confused face when you ask "Can I pay with Bitcoin?"
Maybe Skye Wallet only has a limited budget to market its products, so the developer chooses to make a banner at a restaurant in a small town, which we all know, that the target audience is people who don't understand cryptocurrency.
This is because the Skye Wallet wallet has received bad reviews from several users, so it is included in the dangerous wallet category.

I wonder what makes the restaurant owner advertise what she doesn't know about just for the money. That is the major mistake some human beings make, not caring about what they advertise except for money.

Nevertheless, this is a good opportunity for you to lecture her on bitcoin and also how to be accepting bitcoin payments in her restaurant.

Good luck to you as you are planning to teach her bitcoin at Christmas dinner

Almost similar experience when I visited a self-styled Bitcoin City in a place I now reside. 3 hours away by train/bus and while I wasn't entirely disappointed, couple of first places I went into with a Bitcoin logo outside turned out couldn't accept BTC payments.

It wasn't even an ad deal like in your story, it was literally a logo to signify BTC payments accepted.

In their case, staff weren't properly trained or didn't know at all how to accept BTC.

Great stuff, let us know how the education session goes Wink

I asked her why they wouldn't accept Bitcoin payments but have the walls decorated with bitcoin stickers, banners and crypto wallet  ads. She explained they have some sort of franchise deal and get paid for keeping the ads on the wall but they don't really know how Bitcoin works or how it can positively impact their business. I could sense she wanted to learn what I knew, but it wasn't the time and place for a Bitcoin lecture. Instead, I invited her for Christmas dinner and promised to teach her Bitcoin.
Merry Christmas everyone
She is the manager and not the owner of the place but influencing her by educating her about bitcoin will have a great effect on the restaurant and how they continue operations. You were able to notice the bitcoin logo on the restaurants because you are into bitcoins, some other persons may have observed it but kept mute. Great of you to show concern to help this local restaurant add another payment option.

Definitely you cannot teach her about bitcoins in one day, but you can arouse her interest. Make it your personal project this December to help this restaurant start accepting payments in bitcoins.

Do have the obligation to accept payments using bitcoin even though they decorate restaurant wall with a bitcoin sticker, if indeed they have concluded a franchise agreement and paid to place an advertisement on the wall, it means they have no responsibility for accepting payments using bitcoins. Bitcoin adoption has indeed been running so rapidly in various countries, but not all places accept payments using bitcoin.

You offer dinner together with restaurant management, I assume you intend to teach them to accept bitcoin payments, I don't think that will work easily and will not change the way payments are made in the restaurant. If a bitcoin campaign has graced the walls of their restaurant, it's highly unlikely they don't know how.

For now, I don't want to use bitcoin to pay for something because there is still a lack of information on how to use bitcoin and so on.
But if you want to teach him about bitcoins, it's a good idea so he can know and use bitcoins too and maybe he can teach the people who visit the restaurant.
If you want to use bitcoins as a means of payment, you can find places or local shops that really understand how to use bitcoins and not because of an agreement from the franchise.
That will be better so you will not feel anything like before.

I guess, the restaurant owner will surely learn something positive from the dinner that will add value to her business, that will make others business women to ask what is she using to make progress in her business. With this good information you have spread in your community concerning Bitcoin, it will really make the community to invite you to Christmas every year so that they will continue to learn more from you.

Lol you all should stop I haven't much fun this days..
How can you open bitcoin restaurant in your neighborhood though is very good you can see people can pick much interest from there it will motivate them and put more effort to the forum so that's awesome

At first Op thought the restaurant accepts Bitcoin as a means of payment but later discovered that don't and they banner there was just some form of advertising for the company.
I just used "Google image search" to search for the logo in the banner and a crypto wallet popped up (Skye wallet) I guess it's not a very popular wallet because this is my first time seeing the wallet.

I was also quite disappointed when I finished reading your post, it turns out that it's not a restaurant that accepts Bitcoin as payment, but rather a restaurant that displays advertising posters for one of the African exchanges. But honestly, you're brave enough to invite a restaurant owner for Christmas dinner and educate her about Bitcoin and its use in business LOL

This happens most of the time at multiple places. Recently in many cricket matches, I have seen advertisements of Crypto exchanges and lot of ads regarding crypto usage. But this doesn’t mean that you can buy the cricket match tickets with Bitcoins. The stadium and the league take the advertisements for the sake of sponsorship only, they don’t care what is the product is about etc. At first reading the OP’s title, I was very curious and excited to know how they paid their restaurant bill with Bitcoins, but later on after finding about the advertisements, I was slightly disappointed. Nevertheless soon the eco system will change .

OP I really do not get what happened. Your topic sounds interesting and catchy and you started with a good tone on good keys but the story did not go down well as it was supposed to be. From the way you started, I was expecting you have educated the manager and the attendant at that very instant so they could get a brief and little knowledge about what bitcoin is all about but is was not clear why with the ads they were not having knowledge of what they have as wall paper  having right there in their restaurant. Although it was working hours as you have stated, but atleast you should have made an attempt putting them on the know what they have as a wall decor in their restaurant is all about, then they would know what they have with them there. I believe if they had knowledge about it, they would have taken advantage of the situation and telling customers about the new development and payment option they now have so as to encourage more customers coming to patronize their services.

While reading, I assumed you were going to pay your fees in bitcoin, but that was not the case. Since they don't accept bitcoin as payment and are already advertising it, perhaps you should put them through before leaving your hometown after the holidays; it will be your own contribution to the bitcoin mass adoption we're all aiming for. I won't blame them for advertising a wallet that has few negative reviews from people because they're unaware of it, but now teach them what they need to know before advertising for someone and how bad the effect can be later on for the reputation of her business as well.

Bravo.. that was actually nice of you scheduling an appointment with the lady in charge of the restaurant to educate her about Bitcoin, because one thing certain here is that there are some people who are interested in learning about Bitcoin but nobody to teach them, and for those who have shown interest, it's our duty to please try our very best to teach them the best we can while redirecting them to online articles for further research

he asked for the manager's attention and invited her to his house for dinner to teach her how Bitcoin works.

Lol please y’all should stop. I haven’t had this much fun in a while. I hold the opinion that bitcoin education for the people is vital in crypto mass adoption. Thank you OP for your service

Even though the government isn’t pro-bitcoin, it’s becoming increasingly popular for physical stores in Nigeria to accept bitcoin as payment in exchange for goods and services. Some even have two price tags, one for payment in naira and another price (usually discounted) for bitcoin payment to encourage bitcoin payments.

I have seen several shops in Nigeria that are accepting Bitcoin these days... lots of Nigerians has posted pictures on this forum. There is even a Gas station that accepts Bitcoin over there.... just cannot find the thread that someone posted.

Now.... the main goal must be to support that restaurant, because if people stop paying with bitcoin.... then they will stop accepting it as a payment option. Thank you for posting the picture..  Wink

The restaurant does not accept Bitcoin that is why @OP is scheduling a dinner lecture for the manager.  The pictures on the wall are paid advertisement, some company rented the wall space to advertise their service and the restaurant is getting paid for it.  So if ever you have read the line on @OP's story:

He was disappointed because he cannot showcase how practical Bitcoin as a payment is.  Instead of getting swayed by disappointment, he asked for the manager's attention and invited her to his house for dinner to teach her how Bitcoin works.

Why would you invite a restaurant owner for Christmas dinner?
To have a 3some, why do you need to even ask🤣🤣.

In tehran there are a few places where you can eat food and pay with crypto, bitcoin included ofcourse. Haven't tried one though so far, but I have seen their ads on instagram food blogger pages.

When you say Bitcoin restaurant I think you are wrong, literally it would mean that the Restaurant is powered or owned by Bitcoin, correct me if i am wrong I can work into the restaurant and make use of FIAT.

I think it’s more understandable if you say it’s a Bitcoin friendly or accepting restaurant and I am beginning to see lots of them in my area too and that’s encouraging.

Ended with a twist indeed. I’m usually skeptical of this kind of “Bitcoin celebration threads” so I was expecting that you paid for your lunch with bitcoin, at least that’s what the title made me believe. It won’t be right to call it a bitcoin restaurant then, its ironic to call a restaurant where the owners aren’t knowledgeable about bitcoin a bitcoin restaurant. Oh well at least OP didn’t lie about his experience just to make his story look good. Good luck with your new manager friend  Wink

Still, you need to be careful who you invite to your home, especially in the face of high insecurity, your community may be friendly and familiar with each other does not mean you know what they are capable of, especially someone who only came home for the holidays. You should be security conscious.
Enjoy your holidays.  Cool

End with a twist. I assumed you discovered a restaurant that accepts Bitcoin. After reading the entire thread, I realized it was nothing but advertisements. However, because the restaurant is near by, it will be easier to teach them how to accept Bitcoin. Because openly advertising Bitcoin implies that it is legal in your jurisdiction. Try to assist them in accepting Bitcoin so that you can keep a supporting role in Bitcoin adoption.

We were clicked baited LOL, I also thought the same, but in the end, it is just advertising and the focus of the story is him inviting the manager over to his house. The manager being a "her" makes me think that @OP is trying to hit on her, lol but then the tight-knit community seems a valid reason.  Though I still wonder why invite over your house for a Christmas dinner...  is there a room for teaching during those times?  With lots of relatives and friends coming over, (the tight-knit community remember?  Grin)  When you can just schedule an after job time to teach her the necessity of accepting Bitcoin, if not the basics of Bitcoin ,after work hours.

Sorry, but my imagination got worked up when I read the term.. manager >> she >> and invited over Christmas dinner.,  Anywho, I hope your teaching session with the manager will be a great success!!!  Grin

I was expecting more when I read the title but when I read the whole thread that the OP made clear my expectations were a little less. But it's understandable actually because they also do this for profit, moreover, it's the same as sponsorship for their restaurant, regardless of whether they know it or not, maybe the most important thing is personal profit for the restaurant.

I can see from the image that the advertised company is skye wallet Nigeria. It’s not a popular wallet even in the country, I did a quick search about the company and the reviews aren’t good at all, numerous complaints of withdrawal issues and customer service not responding to messages. Now I think it’s up to OP to go back and see if he can make them put down the advert as it will also affect the reputation of the restaurant. I want to believe the restaurant owners are ignorant of crypto and do not know about the issues surrounding the wallet, they are simply after the cheque.

I opened your link and looked at the reviews and this is the result Cheesy
But there are some things that maybe I don't know because it's my first time even hearing about this wallet and I can't say that they are bad just because of these 2 reviews. but maybe when there is an offer for it there will obviously be a lot of consideration to use it.

Lol,  I thought @OP has found a restaurant that is accepting Bitcoin but rather found a restaurant that was paid by advertising some Bitcoin company.  I bet the company is somehow a Ponzi scheme company, just looking at the ads, we can see a person flexing money and bitcoin behind it as background and this is how Ponzi shcemed company advertise their scheme.  They had that advertising to trigger the interest and greed of people to join their company system.

To keep a bitcoin advertising in your shop you should know what it is not just interest in collecting royalty in the franchise. I believe that it is going to create awareness with you around in the neighbourhood and if the owner don't know what it is she will look out to see you because you have make her to start thinking of what bitcoin is. A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
Why would you invite a restaurant owner for Christmas dinner?

Well OP answered that. A tight knit community is the answer.

But if that happened in a highly populated city/town, it would be a bit different.
It took me a while to think of what an answer to the question could be in such a case- in a more populated world (like the western world). But if I had to take a guess: I suppose to either flex ones cooking (kind of a rubbing salt in his face situation) or it would be to brown-nose the owner in hopes of getting special treatment when visiting the restaurant next time.

Although having said that, it does make me sound like I may be a bit of a downer with a pessimistic view of the world. Roll Eyes

Why would you invite a restaurant owner for Christmas dinner?

Perhaps for the same reason a professional massage therapist would like a massage or a psychologist a private session?

Sometimes people who have specific professions spend years serving their community in such specific areas that they almost forget those days they were on the other side of the bar. But that is only my speculation, since I do not how much that restaurant owner faces the public.

OP just wanted to be nice.

PD: I am sure if I spent most of my day delivering giant pizzas for months so I can get enough to reach the end of the month, I would not mind the be one abusing Uber-Eats(R) at least for a couple of days.  Tongue
