The thing is that many have heard about Bitcoin, but what quality of knowledge and information do they have? Now many people have heard about Bitcoin but do not trust it because they consider it a big financial pyramid.
I believe if you want something you'd go for it no matter how limited the information is about that thing. Like I said, it's a matter of interest. The way I see Bitcoin to gain more adoption is if it becomes a mandatory financial tool in a country that you can't do without.

People have also heard a lot about NFTs and memecoins, but they are also considered useless and dangerous technologies. And I cannot agree with them on this. Because both are more like speculative instruments.
I won't blame them either. Heck, I'd be hesitant to put my money in some of these new meme coins too.

knowing about airdrop doesn't mean one knows about Bitcoin.
In the airdrops many just care about pursuing the shitcoin and selling their data (especially those that warrant KYC)
So why would they even care about Big old Bitcoin
When it doesn't have airdrops
My first involvement in crypto was through airdrops, and that was when airdrops were still very rewarding. I expanded my knowledge in crypto through self-research, and that could have never been done if airdrop hadn't brought me in contact with cryptocurrency. Although most people are too lazy to even study the origin of what they are doing or how to come about crypto, the rest of them care about how to earn that free money by doing the simple task they are asked to do.
Participating in airdrops is one way lots of people got interested in Bitcoin. All the airdrops are participated in my beginning stage of cryptocurrency were altcoins and most of them were very disappointing. But later on, I discovered that i learned a lot in the process. I was able to understand the different networks and how to transact using them. I also understood the difference between centralized exchange and decentralized exchange, IEO, ICO, and IDO. All these terms mentioned sounded very strange to me at the early stage. However, now is difficult for some to list 50 terminologies in the crypto space i cannot fully identify and explain 45 correctly.

Try it out and let's see, you will have your answer, that you are still so early to acquire some Bitcoin, we have a very way to go before Bitcoin finally become mainstream.

Be calm and keep buying small portion of a BTC, the future is looking brighter than ever.
Having some understanding about bitcoin and the price of bitcoin is not that related. You can meet with 1 million people on the street who wouldn't afford to invest 10 million dollars together, whereas there could be one dude who is willing to invest 100 million just himself, that means that meeting people on the road makes no sense and not the greatest way.

Additionally, we are at a marketcap where if we do 10x that would be gold marketcap, meaning that more than 10x is very difficult for bitcoin to achieve, so we can't possibly assume that would be the best way to move forward, I am not saying that we shouldn't do it, but I think its going to be something that will take a while and we are not going to really see this change all that easily at all.

Firstly, the Op said the number of people he asked about Bitcoin knew nothing about it and that was his inspiration to go get his, right? Well, maybe those youths in his area knew little to nothing about it because they didn't or haven't really seen the need to explore another form of financial payment pattern since they either have their banks or they are just too lazy to delve into something else.

Secondly, youths or majority of the youths focus more on happening trends on the social space than they do on things like Bitcoin and cryptocurrency (and I'm basing this on where I come from) so these could all be reasons as to why their knowledge is limited.
It's also worthy of note that the idea or knowledge of Bitcoin has spread and now even those who are older know about it. I was impressed the other day when my rider who's quite advanced in age kept telling me how easy these cryptocurrency payment platforms have made transactions easy and I could not agree more.
Indeed, no one's late to the party, it's just a matter of mindset.

I like how you're seeing things; however, I'm not as confident as you are. It's certainly not too late, even though in my case a large number of people I know at least acknowledge the existence of Bitcoin and what it is; however, it would be unrealistic to expect the massive opportunities the early days had. There's a reason when something new is launched, the newest adopters are referred to as "early birds." The same rule also applies to Bitcoin; those who purchased between 2010 and 2016 noticed massive gains that are certainly not going to be matched ever again in the future.

Don't get me wrong, I do remain confident about the future and I'm trying to accumulate as much Bitcoin as possible, however, I'm not expecting 10x returns, because that would be unreasonable.

Yep, people are not aware at all. In my city hardly anyone is interested in the Bitcoin or crypto basically. The name doesnt come up if we are not discussing it. I mean it's like just tertiary thing here in India or in my state at least. Honestly, people are struggling to live up with their own salaries and whatever wages they getting, so they dont want anymore risks in their lives.

Apart from this I have obsevred that they are more or less interested in the share market. Holding shares, or doing daily trades is far important or risk free for them as compared to bitcoin.

But yeah, for all of us who are involved in the Bitocin since ages (practically) we will talk about it all the time, because obvioulsy that ison our minds always.

Your statement is correct but I will never talk about Bitcoin in public place as it would violate my privacy. And if you start comparing yourself to someone who doesn't know about that, you're on the wrong track. You have to compare yourself with those who are experts in that field. Only then will you realize the emptiness within yourself. It is true that if you compare yourself with someone who is weaker than you or less wise than you, you can comfort yourself and find self-satisfaction. But if you don't compare yourself with people who are wiser and stronger than you, you will never achieve anything great.

I also believe that it is a geographical thing whether most people would know about Bitcoin or not, and the results will vary for each person based on their location and where they live, whether the place they live in has a high literacy rate or not and whether what percentage of the population in that locality use electronic devices with internet availability because someone who doesn't even use electronic devices would never know about these things, and someone who uses internet and social media would surely already know about it even if they aren't into it.

The place where I live, I'm pretty sure the results will be 50-50 because most people around here have mobile phones and use social media platforms, but many aren't educated enough to get into things such as cryptocurrencies or online earning opportunities.

Overall, I agree with your point that it is not yet late to get into Bitcoin and make your first move. Many people will join after us, we might not be very early but we are also not late.

It's true. Most people I know don't have interest in adopting Bitcoin, even though they have already heared about it before. They say to not understand how it works, so they prefer to stay away from BTC. Meanwhile, the minority I know who have already invested in Bitcoin aren't very confident about it, neither invest considerable sums of money on it. I think they live a contradiction, because at same time they want instant profits, they think Bitcoin doesn't deliver enough to make the investment worth. The ironical part is that Bitcoin is one of the most profitable investments available in the entire world right now.

I ask myself if the average mindset of people in our societies is going to change anytime soon, or if it will remain like this forever. On the other hand, I also think most people will only adopt Bitcoin once centralized parties they highly trust, such as media channels and governments tell them to do so.

Very nice experiment that we can carry out for us to know that we're not late in investing in Bitcoin. Don't think that because Bitcoin is now costly more than $50k that anyone that wants to invest right now is late. Bitcoin price is still going to continue going up and not down because more people, company and business are going to always invest as they're knowing about Bitcoin. I don't need this experiment for me to know that I have to invest into Bitcoin. I follow the financial news and I see how Bitcoin is being talked about recently hence I know investing is the right time to do. My reason for investing in Bitcoin is because I have understand the importance of owning Bitcoin. No one knows what the future holds bit hodling Bitcoin can make you richer in the future and you'll not have to suffer again, looking for money

I like your experiment, but your sample size isn't conclusive enough....I can imagine you asking only the girls and they would want to be out of your sight especially that it sounds so nerdy to them Tongue

For a better general overview of how much people know their cryptocurrency, why not try tertiary school at least these are in touch with reality and todays technology, or mid aged persons as these would want to invest money for the future... millennials are too unpredictable for all I know .

But you are right on one thing, we are still early adopters of Bitcoin even after a decade  Tongue

While I do agree that we are still quite early in the bitcoin world, the money that got in is a lot and this method may not be all that reasonable for us. Because while there could still be some people that do not know what bitcoin is or even if they do know it then they may not be invested, that may not mean that the price could still go up a lot like it used to.

We were very small in marketcap and right now we are not, so we can't easily go 10x higher, doesn't mean we won't, but it would take a long time to do that, up until now we didn't had that much difficulty, because price was like 5k and going to 50k was the last 10x that was easy, nowadays it is not easy at all because it would require so many more billions to do that.

Remember, 1% holds as much money as the 90%, so that means if 50% of the 90% do not know bitcoin but 100% of 1% knows it, it's still crowded and the price is still overvalued, so it's not about how many knows it, it's about who knows it.

I have done this too already and not a single soul know about Bitcoin, I make sure that i only approach the young people because there is a higher chance that the old knew nothing about Bitcoin and crypto, even the few that have heard about Bitcoin are saying $1 is the value of one Bitcoin.
From the way airdrop is making crypto-wide spread The internet is an open space where such information can be gotten for free, especially bitcoin value, unless those who I ask are not exposed to the internet and don't make use of smart phones.

Indeed the introduction of airdrops has made the cryptocurrency information to go more viral not just in the city but in the rural areas too, the only place where you can point out that people are not informed about Bitcoin is a place where there is no smart phone or a place there there is zero availability of the Internet which is very rare to see in this present generation.

Using the rural areas in my state as an example, it is very difficult for you to see young people who are not aware of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency even though most of them are not trades or investors, they are into airdrops after a lot of them came to realize that they can get free money through airdrops.

Same here in my country, most people don't know anything about Bitcoin and haven't even heard of it, few people around me have learned a little about Bitcoin through my constant talk.

But despite that, recently in my country, clicking on the screen has spread, especially among those young people who are looking for a job opportunity, they were attracted by Telegram games that depend on clicking only and they can get some free money when distributing airdrops, but they don't know what a wallet is and how it works and how to keep the seed or make a deposit or withdrawal, so this is a positive point for clicking games as they will have to learn these things.

It is true that in many parts of the country people don't know much about Bitcoin and its potential to transform financial life of the investors who hold it with firm belief in this digital asset for long term.  However, financial literacy about Bitcoin is gradually gaining momentum as its adoption is accelerating in the USA, leading economy of the world, which is very positive development.

I believe they should have heard the name before, but they simply lack knowledge about it. This is because bitcoin has faded to the point where it will be difficult to ask someone, as our generation, aged 20 to 35, is unaware of bitcoin. They will hear about it, but they will not focus on it to gain experience in the crypto. If someone does not know about bitcoin, it means that he is not involved on online platforms, since if you are doing online, I am sure you will encounter crypto sites that will say you should invest in crypto and be getting rewards and withdraw with coin and band your wallet address.

In my country, it will be very difficult to find someone who doesn't know about bitcoin because with how the economy is in our country, many people are engaging in online investments and mostly they try to focus on trading very well because they think they will get profit fast and that is the main problem many people are facing, they don't have time to learn because they just don't have time for that they just want to get money fast and without knowledge he will be very difficult In 90% of a country, I think he will only be 10% who don't hear about bitcoin, and some people don't like saying what they are doing, they like to keep it hidden.

Dress up in the morning and go out in your street or a busy road where many people are passing by, ask them if they know what Bitcoin is and what is the present value of Bitcoin.
If someone I don't know comes up to me and spontaneously asks me that question, I will answer "NO" because privacy is more important than being too honest with someone I don't know. Closing yourself off from strangers cannot be categorized as lying or other negative things because comfort and safety from various threats that come are much more important. Perhaps for this reason, Satoshi identity is still unknown to this day, he prefers to maintain his privacy for the sake of a comfortable life and freedom from all threats rather than pursuing fame.

I have done this too already and not a single soul know about Bitcoin, I make sure that i only approach the young people because there is a higher chance that the old knew nothing about Bitcoin and crypto, even the few that have heard about Bitcoin are saying $1 is the value of one Bitcoin.
I am sure that not all of the people you approach do not know about Bitcoin, the reason may be as I have mentioned above, they prefer to keep their privacy rather than being honest with you. Let's check the simplest fact or on a small scale, most of the Newbies who register on the Bitcointalk forum are the new generation who want to know more about Bitcoin, some of them who register here have already been involved in Bitcoin investment, their goal is only to get the latest information about Bitcoin and deepen their knowledge about investment.

The increasing number of new users registering on the forum indicates that Bitcoin is increasingly spreading to various groups, although the privacy of each user is not openly revealed, but I am sure that the users on this forum consist of teenagers, adults and parents who are around 50 years old or older.

This is a very bold way to do the analysis, and I really approve of it. However, there are several aspects that need to be taken into account before forming a final opinion on the informed guests of the population on the topic of cryptocurrencies. It is necessary to survey not only young people, but also young men, because they are also looking for where to invest their money. The location where the survey was conducted also plays a role. It is advisable to do this in different areas of the city, both poor and rich. And of course, you need to survey the maximum number of people. So that the analysis is accurate.

Going out physically to survey people about Bitcoin is a total waste of time and energy for me and for those young people you asked about it not knowing about Bitcoin it's either they do not want to talk about their assets with a stranger or that location has limited access to the internet, technology and financial education. Because Bitcoin is everywhere in the internet and as a matter of fact it has gained significant popularity since it's inception and mainstream adoption is gradually increasing that individuals, business owners and institutions are exploring and investing in Bitcoin.

However, financial literacy about Bitcoin is gradually gaining momentum as its adoption is accelerating in the USA, leading economy of the world, which is very positive development.
There is no official adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the United States, but yes, there is a growth in adoption by individuals and non-governmental companies in the United States, and this is a very important factor in the spread of Bitcoin around the world.

I do not expect that the United States will ever adopt Bitcoin, even if Trump wins, who seems to support Bitcoin, there will not be an official adoption, but there may be more lenient legislation and regulations that lead to the creation of an open environment that helps increase the spread and adoption.

You are absolutely right that there is no official adoption of Bitcoin by USA government and it is not likely to happen in the near future. However growing usage of Bitcoin by individuals and companies like BlackRock is contributing its spread all over the world. As you indicated , if Trump is elected then we might see more favorable legislation those could boost Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies usage and development globally, particularly in western countries.

It is crucial to recognize that technological development in this industry in creating new job opportunities world-wide.

Even in my country, where Bitcoin is still not used as payment in physical stores, I still believe that the majority of people are already aware that Bitcoin exists. It's just that they are not interested in Bitcoin yet, that's why they don't take some time to do research on it.

And I'm not one of those who think bitcoin investment is already late. It can only be late if you keep missing opportunities to invest in bitcoin, while others have already been accumulating bitcoin as much as they can.
The truth is OP part of the social experiment isn't realistic. I don't know where he lives but it's only in a few country that you can find majority of the people lack bitcoin knowledge.

And I also agree to the fact that people in your area and also in my area even though I don't know where you live or country, know at least little things about bitcoin but they just choose not to invest in it not that they don't literally know bitcoin. Most people just ignore Bitcoin because of things they have heard about it but never had time to figure out if those things are true or not.

How so unrealistic mate? Have you read the replies from other members? Few people are saying the same thing as I've said, the majority of my people don't know Bitcoin, some have heard about it but believe it to be some pyramid scheme, some just don't want to get involved, the result will surely be different since we are not from the same country.

Mind you, even if we are from the same country we won't get the same result per states, some areas or cities are well civilized than others, some lacks educational background more than others, without trying out this experiment you can just sit back and think about it, even how big the United Kingdom is so many people don't know about Bitcoin.

Till this day, money means everything for so many people, anything else apart from money is invalid, it was how I tried to teach some youths about Bitcoin and their teacher is the one saying they shouldn't give me the attention.

This post highlights the belief that it's still early to invest in Bitcoin. The author suggests conducting a simple experiment: asking people in the street if they know about Bitcoin and its current value. According to their own experience, most people, especially younger ones, are either unaware of Bitcoin or grossly misinformed about its value. This leads to the conclusion that Bitcoin has not yet gone mainstream and that there’s still time to invest before it reaches mass adoption. The recommendation is to keep gradually buying Bitcoin, as its future remains promising.

You are absolutely right that it is still early to invest in Bitcoin as its true potential is marvelous and incredible given the fact that its supply bis limnited and fiat based currencies are going through inflationary pressure causing depiction in their value and making life of a common man.

Hence, it is wise decision to accumulate Bitcoin whenever market conditions are bearish and Bitcoin is available at comparetively lower price.

If you want to invest then there is no benefit in delay but it is wise to invest as soon as possible. Those of us who first saw Bitcoin in 2009 but didn't invest because we wanted to invest until now understand the importance of Bitcoin very well. Those who are not investing in Bitcoin now will have a lot of regret in the future and will look back on this day and ask why they didn't invest earlier.

if I conduct a social experiment of this nature it's going surely end up having a positive results much better than what yours came out with in your area. in Nigeria we have a high rate of Bitcoin adoption and with the current rate of youth activeness on social media and the rest of the platforms I can say that at least 10 to 15 of 20 if interviewed about bitcoin will have at least a little knowledge of what bitcoin is, infact a lot of people in Nigeria currently know more about Bitcoin.

This is not to prove you wrong but just have it in mind that a lots of people knows about bitcoin even though they may not have a dime in it but in one way or the other knows about it. Additionally we don't even need to make this kind of social experiment to invest in bitcoin, truth remains that we don't have enough bitcoin and that should be our priority.

Nothing lasts forever
Bitcoin has already become so popular that many people would have at least heard of it from any of these sources like social media, TV, movies, series, songs, whatsapp groups etc...
I agree that some people might not have heard about bitcoin yet but the reason why some people are ignoring the question may be because of privacy concerns.
Not everyone likes such kind of an attention especially when it comes to bitcoin.

This is an encouragement to many people who has not started this journey already and am happy you brought this idea here, no one is late in this journey, the day you have the funds to invest is the day your own journey begin in Bitcoin, the people that invested last year thought that they came late just because of the price as at then but here we today, so for m I don't think that it is nice for people to keep discouraging themselves with this late to invest mindset, everything has its begining, if people keep saying they are late, the price of Bitcoin may pump to the level that they may regret not to have taken the adavantage of investing when they were suppose to do so.

I think people should be more concerned about the future of Bitcoin not the current price because the more we procrastinate, the more we are left behind, in nutshell, no one is regarded as a late comer in Bitcoin investment, just that some people failed to do the needful when they were supposed to do so or were unable to get the information or got it and refused to take it serious but the major thing is the readiness to invest and that readiness includes having the fundsavaioabke  and the zeal to invest without any form of discouragement, for me I believe the time is now to hold the bull by the horn and keep buying as little as you can steadily and continously to make a bulky portfolio and hold for a long-term.

That is an interesting approach and I have noticed it as well. Although I have to clarify that most people have heard about bitcoin. They have heard the name at least, in a movie, on TV, or something like that. They just don't know what bitcoin is. They've never bothered looking into it. Some of them may have a vague and usually wrong idea. But this all means one thing: bitcoin adoption is still very minimal and it can only rise!
A lot have actually heard about bitcoin but if you ask them to explain about bitcoin, they won’t say nothing. Simply because what they don’t know won’t make them interested to. I think the type of government we have also make this poor understanding about bitcoin becomes disregarded.

This only shows that when you are asking random people who are not bitcoin enthusiasts, you will realized that you are early with bitcoin. But if you go to the bitcoin community, there you might feel that you may be late with bitcoin investment, even if you know the real answer to what confuses you.

You see ahead. You're out there, in the real world, showing people that Bitcoin isnt just some internet fad. You're demonstrating money's future one discussion at a time. Wow, so many people still dont get it. They're blindly missing their biggest chance. Its okay. It merely means believers have more to grasp.

Buy Bitcoin and educate others. Spreading the message will alter the world. Continue as you are. Buy, believe, and share knowledge. People, the future is bright. Your kind are leading the way. Its about becoming part of something groundbreaking, not just generating money. I promise thats the most thrilling.

If you believe that it is too late to invest in Bitcoin here is an assignment for you.

Dress up in the morning and go out in your street or a busy road where many people are passing by, ask them if they know what Bitcoin is and what is the present value of Bitcoin.

I have done this too already and not a single soul know about Bitcoin, I make sure that i only approach the young people because there is a higher chance that the old knew nothing about Bitcoin and crypto, even the few that have heard about Bitcoin are saying $1 is the value of one Bitcoin.

Try it out and let's see, you will have your answer, that you are still so early to acquire some Bitcoin, we have a very way to go before Bitcoin finally become mainstream.

Be calm and keep buying small portion of a BTC, the future is looking brighter than ever.
I somehow agree with this only few knows about crypto in my area and even in my workplace, some of them only know the word but doesn't really know how it works or the price.
There are also some who thinks it is a scam or tool to use for money laundering.

On a scale of 1–30, there is no way I can come out in my street, busy area, mall, or mall and ask people within the age range of 20 years and upward that out of that 30 up to 5 of them won't have an idea of what bitcoin is, even if they don't hold any; they will definitely have little basis knowledge of what it is.

From the way airdrop is making crypto-wide spread The internet is an open space where such information can be gotten for free, especially bitcoin value, unless those who I ask are not exposed to the internet and don't make use of smart phones.

You probably live in a very exposed area where people are familiar with cryptocurrency. Mind you, bringing airdrop into discussion is giving me a different feeling that those people might not have idea about bitcoin in particular but cryptocurrency in general. If I should use the same scale as yours, I will hardly get that number with full or little knowledge of Bitcoin. Although more than half of that scale number might be familiar with airdrop or cryptocurrency but not bitcoin or it's value. Moreover, those who might have heard about it will assume it as a scam or ponzi scheme.

I will like to let you know that youths in my country prefer crimes way of making money than going the right legit ways, I am not ashamed to pass the information out, most of them are into scams, I know this because there are many arrests on youths around the age of 18 to 28 that are into online frauds.

I don't want to be specific but I'm confident it's Africa. The same thing is happening here and they are making people to believe bitcoin is a scam. Majority of these fraudsters claim to be a crypto trader but doing online fraud on a low key to cover their fraudulent acts.

Maybe in your country, but my result is based on my location, yours could be different, there are few educated people that I came across  and they claimed they know what Bitcoin is but that's it, they don't know the present price of 1 Bitcoin.

One claimed that his brother invested into Bitcoin, but he has no clue about the price because he have no interest. The truth is Bitcoin don't make fast money.

I am impressed with your strategy. If someone does this then he will surely know whether he is late to buy Bitcoin or it is the right time for him. There are many people who stay away from buying Bitcoin with such thoughts. There are some who think that the price of Bitcoin has increased so much that there is no possibility of further increase. I will say the same to them that if many people don't know about Bitcoin yet then they will surely try to buy Bitcoin after knowing about it. But it must be remembered that the supply of Bitcoin is limited, so as people's interest increases, the supply of Bitcoin will not increase, due to which the price of Bitcoin will naturally increase.

If we look at the picture of Bitcoin chart from the past few years, we will be able to understand very well what stage Bitcoin was at that time and where it has reached at the moment. When Bitcoin was invented, no one could have imagined that the coin would become so valuable. But with the passage of time, the value of Bitcoin has moved upward and will continue to do so in the future.

Most people will only say "I will think about it" when they hear others suggest them to take a look about Bitcoin. They don't decide to invest in Bitcoin at that moment because they think that they will do that after they study first. But in the end, they are not invest in Bitcoin at all and forget that. They have much time to start if they realizes about that especially Bitcoin is still so early to grow in all countries so those people can follow others to have Bitcoin. They don't understand that they don't have to buy Bitcoin in a large amount at once but they can buy Bitcoin gradually. They can prepare some money for Bitcoin investment and keep buying with small portion of Bitcoin. They can stop whenever they want because they decide how many Bitcoin they want to have.

When we have explained well what we have understood about Bitcoin to others and they say they need time to think about it, of course this is no longer our responsibility when they later try and also make mistakes later, but if they want to try the investment, of course we must be able to guide them until they really understand and don't let them make mistakes that make them lose money when running their investment.

You are right, if only they took the time to learn of course they would understand that investing in Bitcoin can be done according to the funds they have and also they can make a plan before they decide to run the investment so that they can run their investment well, because it is very unlikely they will be able to understand easily when they first try to invest so they have to try it first and continue to learn until they really understand the investment well.

I think your method might be flawed.... knowing about Bitcoin and buying it even if you know about it.... are no guarantee for it's future growth potential.

A lot of people might know about Bitcoin, but they only listen to the negative things they hear about it. (The media and the movie industry will often link Bitcoin to the worst things you can think of, like drugs and money laundering and sex trafficking and terrorism funding.)

We need people to educate other people about the "good" and "positive" things that can be done with this technology and those positive things that are done, that are not publicized in mass media.  Roll Eyes

2.The fact that almost nobody knows anything about Bitcoin doesn't necessarily mean that Bitcoin will become mainstream in the future.
Perhaps Bitcoin still isn't user-friendly enough, so that the "average Joe" would accept it. You should ask yourself why would anyone invest in Bitcoin? Being your own bank and waiting for the price to hit the moon and the most obvious reasons, but most people hate taking risks and most people trust the fiat banking system(which is sad). Can you come up with more reasons why should everyone accept BTC? I definitely can't.

The assumption of investing too late in Bitcoin arises when the current value of Bitcoin is much higher than it was a few years ago. In fact, this is just a game of cross-thinking of each individual, if you are in the midst of investors who have been in the crypto space for a long time, you may feel that you are too late. But if you live among a group of people who have no knowledge about Bitcoin, you certainly feel lucky because you have knowledge about Bitcoin before them. Bitcoin is still very young, the potential for greater adoption in the future, of course it will be a great opportunity for those of you who are trying to accumulate the amount slowly.

Actually there’s a lot of old people too who are well informed about bitcoin. We always talk about age that we usually overlook social class. Poor to middle class people, no matter the age, are more likely to not know about bitcoin and investment and so in. While upper middle to rich people have more interest in investing and cryptocurrencies.

So it really depends on these things. If I go to a place where the people are mostly rich ones, I am sure they would have an idea of what bitcoin is.

Thank you for sharing your views and great work. Indeed, the public assessment system is an excellent way to estimate a property's potential. True, Bitcoin is relatively new compared to conventional assets. And mass understanding might take time.

I agree that continuous education and informing people about Bitcoin is very important to a high adoption rate. Like you said, even though few people currently understand or know much about Bitcoin, that does not mean it is too late to invest.

I also believe in the value of thorough research, considering many factors before any kind of investment decisions. Considering, of course, the bright future which many believe awaits Bitcoin, one should be informed and cautious with any investment. That will always be a good thing. Thank you again for this thought-provoking challenge!

This is our biggest advantage to other people. Include also those people who regretted selling their Bitcoin too early before because there's always a chance to buy again or accumulate again Bitcoin. It's not always too late, think about those big companies buying Bitcoin as they deserve, those are millions and billions.
Shout out also to those people who told me they would start to buy once the price dips or falls on their target price of buying.

We can consider ourselves now as pioneers, where we are still in early days of Bitcoin.

This is a big plus: we are in the very first days of Bitcoin. It's nice to see how even people who sell too quickly can get opportunities to buy back or upgrade. The participation of big companies and corporate investors enhances our powers.

I agree, it should be recognized as pioneers. Bitcoin's journey is still going on. Growth and new innovative ideas are also possible. Patience might also turn out to be a good strategy for all those awaiting the dark purchase. It's exciting to think we're helping and witnessing new technology startups that may shape the future.

Thats a really interesting idea.  Despite Bitcoin existing for years now, its amazing how many individuals remain unaware of its presence.  However, their ignorance highlights that this technology is still in its infancy and  though, that immaturity offers prospect for Bitcoin can continue maturing.  Theres much room left for this technology to grow.  It reminds me of a time when only a handful of people I knew started using email.

For a human life, 16 years may be a long time, but for the development of the world or compared to other assets, it is very small. If you compare bitcoin to metals that have a history of thousands of years, the stock market that has a history of hundreds of years...then bitcoin is nothing more than a newborn baby. So, as you said: bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are just in their infancy and have a lot of promise in the future.

But it cannot be denied that the fact that bitcoin is still not popular shows its potential but it also reflects that there will be certain risks that we have to face. Bitcoin's popularity and legitimacy actually make it riskier than traditional assets, but opportunities always come with risks and opportunities are only for those who dare to step out of their comfort zone and take risks.

It is true that the people of earlier days, especially around 2010, who knew about the value of Bitcoin and invested in Bitcoin, have now become billionaires and millionaires. The right time to invest in Bitcoin should always be considered because if you have enough opportunity then invest in Bitcoin now. Bitcoin will be considered a valuable virtual currency in the coming world and whoever owns Bitcoin has a different kind of expressive power.  Bitcoin will be preferred as the world's wealth standard and the more bitcoins one has, the more the world's rich will be included.

I think that most people have heard of attacks that are related to Bitcoin, the $5 wrench attacks and that's why they prefer to say if they know about Bitcoin or not to people that they only know and not to strangers. But this isn't about that but all about how early most people still are if they're going to invest into Bitcoin. IMO this is like always the bull run and cycles that we are having.

Every time someone invests on these cycles, we'd say that they're quite late because we're too early compared to them. But this is one reality that they need to realize that they're still earlier compared to most people in the world that either knew Bitcoin but don't buy or completely have no idea what it is. Looking at that scene, those that are going to buy will feel good about that because compared to them, they're still earlier than those people that aren't doing some actions and initiating their Bitcoin investments.

The thing that makes them say that it's too late to be in bitcoin is actually just an excuse where they don't want to be in bitcoin because they are not sure whether it will be profitable for them or not.  I always feel that is the reason because since I have been in bitcoin from 2020 the words about “it's too late to be in bitcoin” have always been heard from some people who don't even understand what bitcoin is so I don't think there is a special reason to follow and consider that it is too late to be in bitcoin because in the end it will make you even more behind from other people who are in bitcoin.

In addition  what I can see from this is that those who say its too late for bitcoin are those who are stuck with past regrets where they regret not buying bitcoin when it was below which they were able to do which made them hope that it would return but of course things like that will not be repeated for bitcoin especially when the process and progress are always good like now.

This has been what everyone knows here. When you go to places where there is no technological knowledge and advancement, they hardly know anything about Bitcoin even though there will be people among them that knows what it is and how it works. In my location, several people have no knowledge about Bitcoin, and some of them are still taking anything related to cryptocurrency as Ponzi schemes, and they are regarding it as scam; but recently, they are now trying to be involved because of the little money they get in Telegram based games.

People are getting to know crypto recently through the trend not Telegram based games which has brought more popularity to the crypto community even though most of them have no knowledge about what the crypto is all about.

I will want all these newbies in crypto to know the exact difference between Bitcoin and altcoins so that they can know how to value Bitcoin and hold instead of wasting all they have earned in telegram based projects; they should learn how to hold Bitcoin because it will help them in the future.

Yeah for sure the idea is a very understable one, though is majorly focus on those people who still believe that is too late to start there Bitcoin investment because some persons believe that is already late to invest on Bitcoin since everybody has gone far on there investment, so using that method will certainly help them a lot because from there they would understand that a reasonable percentage of people have not even heard about Bitcoin let alone started investment, so from there they will no that this is the right time to start the process instead of waiting and besides from the way we understand the future of Bitcoin the price is still small compare to there future milestone. Truly there are people you will ask about the value of Bitcoin and they will tell you is equivalent to $1 because they still believe that is very small.

Hmm, quite a logical experiment, anyway I've already acknowledged that it is never too late, but yup in the current timeline and current market price Bitcoin is just super safe to buy, I'm looking forward to your idea, and I'll try this experiment even though I don't need this as I'm already buying a decent amount on every possible opportunity.

Maybe I could be able to record audio or some kind of video as well but keep privacy in the count. But I'm sure some of them would have heard of it even if they dont know about the bitcoins market valuation.

It's not really correct to think old people will not know Bitcoin, I believe in this forum there are many users who're 30-50 years old.

The thing is that the OP is not talking about this forum, he is talking about the older people in the street. So you can’t compare, he mentions street in his own, and I believe that he is saying that it is going to be very hard to see an older person outside in the street that will know bitcoin and also its value, although some people have heard about bitcoin before but don’t know the value of it or the kind of freedom it gives to people.

Furthermore, someone who is already in this forum is supposed to know everything about bitcoin value unless that person is not active in the forum. Because that is what the forum is made of, and as long as you are here to learn, those are the key things you should learn. So you can’t compare who is here and who is outside the forum, regardless of the age, there is a difference in the knowledge.

There are quite a large population of the world that knows about Bitcoin but there are also a wide population that doesn't have any good knowledge about Bitcoin, considering the number of people that are not yet aware of what Bitcoin is, those that have got to know about Bitcoin are very fortunate. There are some people that will know about Bitcoin years later, it could be in the next five or ten years to come and by then Bitcoin must have gone above $150k to $200k which will be an extra advantage to people that are investing in Bitcoin today.

Based on the logic of your theory, buying a new shitcoin can be more profitable than bitcoin cause it's less popular than bitcoin right. Cheesy

Another question is will it ever be a payment mode in the mass scale?

I am pro bitcoiner and I came here for it's return to be honest cause I realized how much I could have made if I invested early but now things changed, more and more I learn about money I seek why we need to embrace the decentralization of bitcoin than it's volatile nature, its the difference between all the economic breaks before 2008 and so on.

Bitcoin is still unknown to many people. Some people who know Bitcoin do not prefer Bitcoin because they prefer traditional investment instruments. In time, Bticoin will also be included in these people's investments. The fact that Bitcoin is known by more and more people every day and its investors are increasing is good news for both the future of Bitcoin and its investors.

We cannot predict the price of Bitcoin for 5 years from now. Many people who do not know Bitcoin may learn about Bitcoin and invest in time. Many people know the potential of Bitcoin and the number of people who know this potential is increasing day by day.

As an investor, my main goal is to make profit on every single asset, and if I see a perfect opportunity to sell then I will sell it immediately. I would say that Bitcoin is future, and the adoption is increasing annually. It's just amazing that we're involved into Bitcoin at this early (I consider it early still).

And one failed thought of them is to think about is... If the price of Bitcoin has not been so increasing in appreciation for investors, how would they profit from it?
If it was such a stable value and does not have that increase in price potentials as it has grown higher today, what would be the essence of investing in it?

Therefore, the highily increase of Bitcoin price of today's should had been a fact to hold on to that... If Bitcoin could be $$1 years back and it was for instance $100K today, that means beginners who just entered into the investment stand all chances to hit higher price of making profits in as much Bitcoin remains potentially volatile and  they could hold their assets patiently while in a long or short term determines their dividends.

They acts ridiculously like... There is no inflation and deflation in the stock market economy system where price of goods worth $1 years back a present year is worth $10 which means in years ahead higher prices in same stock could be expected.
Moreover, it is not compulsory that one must buy a whole one Bitcoin but can always buy as much as affordable and just hold. Then you still remains a potential Bitcoin Investor to make profits.

They are not too late to invest in Bitcoin while the price is not increase. If they feels doubt to do that, they need to learn more about the investing in Bitcoin. When they want to read more information about Bitcoin investment, they will see that Bitcoin gives benefit to them.

They should know that many people out there doesn't know about Bitcoin. If they can realizes that they have much time to join in Bitcoin investment, they will see that they will be the one who lucky that have Bitcoin. When Bitcoin become mainstream, they will take the benefit for themselves.

They must open their mind to accept something such as Bitcoin and see the benefit of Bitcoin to them. That will make them amaze when they see the profit that they can get after they start to invest in Bitcoin and see the price increase. But we don't have to force them to invest in Bitcoin because we just inform them about Bitcoin and let them decide.

I have done this too already and not a single soul know about Bitcoin, I make sure that i only approach the young people because there is a higher chance that the old knew nothing about Bitcoin and crypto, even the few that have heard about Bitcoin are saying $1 is the value of one Bitcoin.

Many young people these days have smart phones but they don't really make use of it in researching about bitcoin. Like the Op said majority of the young people these days don't really know about bitcoin. Yes airdrops are popular now but it is not Bitcoin that they are getting airdropped.  Majority of those that are participating in those airdrops have no clue on how to go about it and what it represents. Majority thinks it's just some mega business that needs social media exposure. They only do the social task and referrals without really knowing what they are doing and at the end of the day when they eventually get the tokens airdropped to them, they find it difficult to convert it to usdt or Bitcoin. Instead they rely other individuals who have the Bitcoin knowledge to sell it for them. They don't have interest to learn how to do it themselves. Lots of young people that have access to Internet are not into bitcoin, they know nothing about it, especially in Africa this is very common.

40% is a huge number , I don't think it's that big even for a country like the United States . According to another result that I found and this is a FED survey, they show that only 18 million US citizens own cryptocurrency by 2023 . That means less than 10% of the US population invests and owns cryptocurrencies and I don't think that number will increase rapidly by 2024. Obviously,  we do not have exact figures on the proportion of the population participating in this market .

It is difficult to know the exact percentage of people investing in bitcoin in each country because as we all know, investing in bitcoin can be done anonymously and without declaration . Instead , I think we should rely on other factors to know about bitcoin's popularity like market capitalization .  In my opinion, bitcoin's market cap of just over $1 trillion is too small, which means we are still very early and there is still room for growth in the future.

It's really difficult to ascertain the amount of people that own or have used cryptocurrencies at a given period. And some of these surveys are not error-free. While others are conducted to achieve a given objective. I think this finding by the FED is targeted at disputing the report by Coinbase that fifty-two million Americans own cryptocurrencies. The research might have been conducted to misinform the public that crypto is not as popular as reported.

You are right a lot of people must have heard about bitcoin through one means or the other but they don't care about what it is or to know little about it which makes them not to understand the potential of bitcoin.

I was chilling at my friend's supermarket one evening, and three young ladies came in to buy some stuffs. They were arguing about something and when I listened it was about the price of bitcoin but what shocked me the most was when one of them said that bitcoin is not expensive and one bitcoin not up to $100. I immediately corrected them and left.

In my topical village,  99% of the youth knows bitcoin and if you said it was the aged group you asked and none was able to comprehend bitcoin then it would have been better. But saying the youth is not possible. Even though I didn't know your country, I still doubt your story.

And recently that airdrop has full the ecosystem even the aged now is mining airdrops and if you want to know that, just check your telegram and see how many people have registered to telegram after the successful launched and listing of NOTcoin and Dogs. I don't believe the fact that none in your street knows bitcoin. And nobody is late in the investment of bitcoin.

I don't doubt what you just said but your conclusion in this issue is based on your location. In the US it is estimated that about 80% of the people there know about cryptocurrency. While about 40% own it. But in Africa, you won't get the same result because crypto awareness and adoption is low.

US Statistics

Quote
Since conducting our first study in 2021, crypto awareness and ownership have continued to grow. Fewer than half of respondents were aware of cryptocurrency in 2021. But today, more than 80 percent said they were familiar with the financial technology.

Meanwhile, the rate of crypto ownership in the U.S. grew by 10 percentage points in 2023. Adoption is up from 30 percent a year ago to 40 percent today. As a gauge for how many Americans own crypto today, our estimates suggest as many as 93 million people may hold one or more cryptocurrencies.

If you believe that it is too late to invest in Bitcoin here is an assignment for you.
If you try such assignment in my country, you will find yourself in prison because bitcoin has be banned by the government and is purely illegal to the financial institution in the country which people in the country will begin to see you as a fraudster to them, and you don't know the type of person you are meeting to ask about bitcoin whether the person is a police officer or government agent which I will not advice anyone in my country to carry out such assignment before they can believe is not too late to invest in bitcoin.

Like I always say, bitcoin investments is one of the nicest crypto investments. However the very first step to becoming a nice bitcoin investor is to first gain a thorough basic knowledge about what bitcoin is and how it works. Many newbies out there rush into making bitcoin investments and in the either run into loss and tag bitcoin not worth investing in or they either lose their investment coins to some hacker or scammer just because they couldn't protect their coins.

After being able to understand certain core things concerning bitcoin like protecting your seed phrase , privacy and even a little about bitcoin price behaviour, one can then proceed to investing. Different people have their different methods of making bitcoin investments however it really doesn't matter as long as you are able to meet your target hodlings and protect your coins.

if I conduct a social experiment of this nature it's going surely end up having a positive results much better than what yours came out with in your area. in Nigeria we have a high rate of Bitcoin adoption and with the current rate of youth activeness on social media and the rest of the platforms I can say that at least 10 to 15 of 20 if interviewed about bitcoin will have at least a little knowledge of what bitcoin is, infact a lot of people in Nigeria currently know more about Bitcoin.

But the flip side of the survey shows that bitcoin is not as popular as we think. Many people say that bitcoin has become so popular that it has spread to every corner of the world, but it is all just hype if we go by your survey results.

The fact that not many people know about bitcoin is also seen as a huge opportunity and we are no different from pioneers in this revolution. But this also tells us that there are still many challenges ahead and it will take much longer before bitcoin can be mass adopted.

Also, as some have said, are the people you ask telling the truth? Because anyone who knows and invests in bitcoin knows how important privacy is. If it were me, I wouldn't answer truthfully if a stranger on the street asked me about bitcoin.

If you believe that it is too late to invest in Bitcoin here is an assignment for you.
Dress up in the morning and go out in your street or a busy road where many people are passing by, ask them if they know what Bitcoin is and what is the present value of Bitcoin.

Are you perhaps a journalist or a reporter? Walking down the street and stopping people like a normal person and asking such questions could get you into very awkward situations (at least in my environment). At the same time, you should also add the risk that you can expose yourself to, considering that you will draw attention to yourself as someone who may own Bitcoin.

I have done this too already and not a single soul know about Bitcoin, I make sure that i only approach the young people because there is a higher chance that the old knew nothing about Bitcoin and crypto, even the few that have heard about Bitcoin are saying $1 is the value of one Bitcoin.

I don't have to ask people anything, I know that at one point the turnover with cryptocurrencies reached the value of trading on the stock exchanges, which means that people already know what Bitcoin is. What happened to you is only a specific situation for your country or the place where you live.

Try it out and let's see, you will have your answer, that you are still so early to acquire some Bitcoin, we have a very way to go before Bitcoin finally become mainstream.
Be calm and keep buying small portion of a BTC, the future is looking brighter than ever.

If according to you, BTC has not entered the mainstream after 15 years, how many years will it take for that to happen? I think that this already happened when large companies started investing in it, and this has been going on for years. Of course, this is not a reason for someone not to buy BTC today or in 5 years, it's just a matter of what the price is and how much money you have at that moment.

You can do your research online and make your decision. There is no convincing reason, at least in my opinion and for me, to hang out and do direct face to face interviews around with many people, just to get answers about their interests on Bitcoin.

What risk I meant?
Physical attacks that can range from minor to severe consequence like death.

You can do a simple math for comparison.

Bitcoin has its total supply is 21M bitcoins and there are already 19.75M bitcoins appear through mining since 2009 and those coins owned and lost by many people. There is only 1.25M extra bitcoins till 2140 through mining and newcomers will have to compete each other to own those coins.

If you believe that it is too late to invest in Bitcoin here is an assignment for you.
If we go by the deflationary model of the bitcoin, it is never too late to invest in this.

Dress up in the morning and go out in your street or a busy road where many people are passing by, ask them if they know what Bitcoin is and what is the present value of Bitcoin.
What an interesting experiment you propose and I have nothing to say in response. It really does demonstrate that the potential for growth of bitcoin is still large. But it seems to me that not all people will buy and own bitcoin (for various reasons), seeing in everyone they meet a future BTC-investor.

Try it out and let's see, you will have your answer, that you are still so early to acquire some Bitcoin, we have a very way to go before Bitcoin finally become mainstream.
If governments' passion for accumulating bitcoin continues, this mainstream will cease to exist. Smiley People will simply not have any "free" bitcoins left.

Be calm and keep buying small portion of a BTC, the future is looking brighter than ever.
If we don't believe in a "bright" future, we can do nothing at all, but this strategy is a losing one. Therefore, I'd better believe in it.

Why ask around my street when I can make my research online, the research you get online are more quality than the physical research especially in our current world today. You ask someone about bitcoin probably you asked for little knowledge for example, it’s certain your privacy is no longer safe at the moment. Bitcoin has not even gotten to the big spot yet despite the value so that’s enough reason we should invest now and enjoy the benefit, it’s still best we invest and Prioritize our privacy.

I will say this depends on the area you're residing in and how exposed they are to technology. In my street, almost 80% of youths that are above 18 years knows about Bitcoin. They might not know key details about investing in Bitcoin or understand how Bitcoin volatility works or the potentials that lies in investing in Bitcoin but they know that you can own Bitcoin and use it as a medium of receiving payment.

I don't need to do that kind of survey before being convinced that I'm not too late to continue buying Bitcoin. Those kind of thing is mostly for people that don't believe in how precious bitcoin his but just want to buy it for the sake of what they've hard about it potential. I know one or two things about the current state of Bitcoin and I'm not just holding my Bitcoin just because I'm expectant of Bitcoin price to hit too high anytime soon. I'm holding Bitcoin for security reasons, because it's the best digital form of storing value and because regardless of the effect of inflation that's currently a serious issue globally, Bitcoin is still an edge against inflation.

knowing about airdrop doesn't mean one knows about Bitcoin.

A nice take on the fact that Bitcoin is still young, though I can't do such
Don't have that energy and time to waste not to mention don't want to come out as been weird/koko, but still depends on the environment
In my country for example, if you haven't heard about Bitcoin you living under a rock.
It's quite a mainstream name
But that's it
The number of people that really know about it are very very low.
The highest they usually know is that Bitcoin is expensive.
Not even knowing you can buy units.

Many people are too lazy to go through the information to learn something new. For example: Recently, there was a conversation in the city chat of the Telegram channel; some cryptocurrency information was discussed. So from the discussion of people, I understand that they mix everything, both bitcoin and altcoin. There are a few literate people who sparkle with thoughts about the usefulness of investing in Bitcoin, but most of them are those who just tap or tap on the screen, completely not understanding what they will do next. Based on this, we can conclude that people (most) do not go into detail about crypto. In my country, this is very rare. And I have no desire to run and prove that investments will help them and take responsibility for their education. The Internet is huge; everyone looks for what they like. The choice is up to the people.

If some random guy ask that to me on the road/street, I will answer "I don't know". Why? because I care with my privacy, I don't want some random guy know who I'm and Bitcoin. I do can explain what Bitcoin is even though not in technical, but I don't really know the present value of Bitcoin price because I didn't check the price. Sometime I think Bitcoin is still $60K or $65K, but actually it touch $52K. Do I care if Bitcoin price went down to $52K? nope because I'M HODLING.

It's not really correct to think old people will not know Bitcoin, I believe in this forum there are many users who're 30-50 years old.
